Quincy Wilson becoming the lebron of track😭 fanboys just going around hating on everyone💀 Joe and Quincy are both great runners, why can’t we appreciate both!?
What a found over years lifting weights and managing weight which has helped prep for races this year. I just manage my weight more a week before race , I cut sauces out 5-7 days before meets , gluten free pasta if I choose to eat it. As gluten makes your body hold water learnt this from a bodybuilder when prepping for a show😅. Only sugars I try get in this period is bananas & almond milk for cornlfakes , don’t eat no yoghurts. Water intake I increase slightly , vit c , b-6 b12 make sure I’m taken daily too. Then day before I’ll increase carbs , slightly get fueled up then same again on the day. Easy digestible foods , baby rice , carb gels , sports drinks. Done for last 2 meets as I put abit more thought into track this year. I mean I’m not a professional sports person but when I done this and took my diet more seriously this year for track , managed to get from 11.48 my first race this season as I was just finished my strength training cycle heaviest I had been just ran to see how I’d feel at this weight lol . Then 4 weeks later ran a 10.75pb. As 11.15 was my previous pb last year. I don’t count calories either as feel not needed as such just take a little more care that week prior. Make sure I’m on the ball.
Man I ran an 11.43 first race a few weeks ago. My 30m fly time is 2.95 I feel like I just need to put the race together properly. This comment gave me some hope

As in when do you edit your videos, do any sponsorship work with Adidas that is required, enter races, book travel etc or do you have a manager to do some of those things?
Great video! Love how simple you keep it, think that helps with consistency! Do you not have any protein powders? Or do you hit your protein goals without it?

Yeah it’s important to not restrict yourself too much especially at a young age, as long as you have consistency in your daily diet it’s okay to treat yourself!
@@joeferguson200 I thought the british champs are always after the english champs since you can only compete at the british champs if you are invited, am I wrong ?
Hello! I am a female sprinter heading to college soon and was wondering what an ideal body fat percentage would be to preform at the highest level. I am 5”1 and around 128-130 pounds and was wondering if loosing a few pounds could drop my times. Also wondering what my macros should look like. any ideas?
I’d try not to focus too much on body fat% but look at power:weight ratio, particularly in the areas that you’re weaker in. So take me for example, my thigh pushing strength is weaker than my lower limb strength (relatively) so I focus on ways to improve my strength in that area whilst keeping my bodyweight to a minimum without sacrificing on this strength. Losing a few pounds can help in some cases, I personally like to drop a few pounds before my big races to feel a bit sharper, but there’s no exact science with this and it’s about experimenting until you find a race weight that feels comfortable and also where you feel sharp & powerful. It might take some trial and error but everyone is different, I hope this helps!
@@joeferguson200 Have you ever tried to get to roughly 6-7%, and if so did it help or hurt performance? The general consensus I've read about is every one percent drop would be about 0.1 faster 100m if you keep your power/weight ratio.
@@odp94aaa I tried this in 2020 and found that rule only applied to a certain extent, for me below 8% the strength & power loss outweighed the weight loss benefits so actually made me slower. It’s different for everyone but I’d say between 8-10% is probably my ideal for racing
I’m more of a vegetable person, and prefer to leave protein shakes as a last resort rather than relying on them as typically I can get enough protein from my normal diet
why don't you push the curbs high when you're an athlete I'd say it's the most important fastest source of energy for athletes and also post-workout recovery
I increase Carbs for winter training where volume is higher, and slightly decrease them when I’m tapering for the peak of my season to ensure I can hit my ideal race weight, and to focus more on protein for recovery. I still have plenty carb intake to get the job done during summer but eating a huge surplus just a couple weeks out from a big competition will just leave me retaining too much water

Definitely agree how essential a good diet is for training and recovery how many calories do reckon you have as a rough estimate?
For sure! And with not counting calories it’s hard to estimate but I’d say probably in the ballpark of 3000
Great Video, I was just wondering what you do for work? Do you make enough of sprinting alone or do you do something else?
I don’t quite make enough from sprinting at the moment so I do a couple other things, it’s probably worth mentioning in a future video!
Do you ever use caffeine or other stimulants when doing top speed training? Or do you save it for competition?
I try to limit caffeine until competition, that way I can get the full effect!

Always socks with spikes for me as my feet are blister magnets hahaha
no, its about 10gr of protein per egg...
