toxic, king's shield, substitute, and shadow sneak. leftovers, max ev's on both defenses, adament for the ss damage. it was a PAIN to deal with!! i also tried a choice band variant with iron head, head smash, sacred sword, and shadow claw. it would pretty much one shot and then switch out. it got so many by surprise!!
It was just an objective oversight to give something with 3 immunities this defensive profile, let alone King's Shield on top of it. And yet somehow they basically made the same mistake again with Gholdengo, except this time instead of it being absurd at blocking direct damage with massive defenses and KS it's more utility focused with Good as Gold.
You ever notice how gen 6 Pokemon became so insanely meta defining that GameFreak felt the need to go overboard with the nerfs.? For e.g, Greninja, Talonflame, Aegislash, Sylveon etc
You know, in my mind, if something is broken three months after its release, you can't jusr "adapt" to it. That is what i consider my threshold for new toy syndrome
If you consider its defense stats from Shield form and offense stats from Blade form, then prior to gen 8 Aegislash had a BST of 720 (same as Arceus) because it could effectively have 60/150/150/150/150/60 stats
Ay, my favorite mon! Now all I need is a "ZapMolCuno Theorum aka Why Gimmicks Are Everything" video where you talk about Infinite Fusions and I'll be complete.
If I could point this out, Aegislash was still pretty strong for VGC. The only problem was that with dynamax being a thing, max guard didn't put Aegislash back into shield form. And so it wasn't considered much because it wasn't flexible with dynamax.
Am I a part of history for suggesting this mon for months and false swipe finally did it?! I also felt this way when I was also suggesting Heatran for months and then he finally did in a month or so ago. I hope I'm getting a shout out for these things by the video uploader. 😉
I see that the Halloween episode ended up being the scariest ghost type of all in Aegislash. Seeing him sent out in battle at a certain point of the game’s competitive scene was tantamount to a jump scare for sure.
Aegislash is one of the collest pokemon out there, awesome design with a super cool (and super busted) gimmick. i remember using this thing on my team in Y and it literally solos every single important character in the game because of its typing, and abusing every single pokemon imaginable with King's Shield is pretty fun so long as you aren't on the receiving end of it.

Im so happy that you finally made a video on such a cool pokemon!
An Aegislash behind a Substitute is an avengers level threat.
That's the funny thing about most fully evolved Ghost types; a lot of them know how to scare you (competitively) and Aegislash is the highest up there.
Happy Halloween
When I heard there was a delay and then checked the date on my phone, I predicted either gengar remake or aegislash
Was it too easy or am I smart
Bro, Aegislash was that “Him”energy. The mind games on King’s shield alone was crazy, it was definitely the core of my team
Still a cool Pokemon but and can still do the mind games I'm just glad not the degenerate toy it used to be.
Aegislash has one of the coolest designs. One of my absolute favorite Pokemon of all time. Ghost/steel is such cool typing.
1 HP shirt.
The first thing in my mind is the low HP theme from Gen 5.
Best low HP theme
Here's to looking forward to How Great was Gengar next Halloween. I've been wanting this for a long time now.
I watch every single one of your videos and I love them, but it would be great if you spoke more on some of the counters it came up against during its dominant eras too. Keep up the great work!
That’s the thing with Aegislash, though: it had next to zero reliable counters.
toxic, king's shield, substitute, and shadow sneak. leftovers, max ev's on both defenses, adament for the ss damage. it was a PAIN to deal with!! i also tried a choice band variant with iron head, head smash, sacred sword, and shadow claw. it would pretty much one shot and then switch out. it got so many by surprise!!
What a drop dude , LETSGO
Aegislash isn't in lets go.
One of my favorite pokemons, such a cool design and concept
AHHHHHHHHH, I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
I remember when we first found out that it got nerfed in SW SH ppl where saying that it was garbage now lol
My favorite mon! Such an awesome both in design and in competetive!
You ever notice how gen 6 Pokemon became so insanely meta defining that GameFreak felt the need to go overboard with the nerfs.?
For e.g, Greninja, Talonflame, Aegislash, Sylveon etc
The Pixilate nerf wasn't that drastic, all its similar abilities got equally nerfed
Mega salamence in vgc was the sole reason for that. Megas aren't even around anymore and the others still have to deal with that nerf.
Whatever meta is currently happening, Aegislash is always there to make sure to dominate it
Been a long time coming. Can't wait to see good my favourite mon was.
They should undo the stat nerfs on Aegislash ngl
You know, in my mind, if something is broken three months after its release, you can't jusr "adapt" to it. That is what i consider my threshold for new toy syndrome
If you consider its defense stats from Shield form and offense stats from Blade form, then prior to gen 8 Aegislash had a BST of 720 (same as Arceus) because it could effectively have 60/150/150/150/150/60 stats
Goat
he already said that multiple times...
Ay, my favorite mon! Now all I need is a "ZapMolCuno Theorum aka Why Gimmicks Are Everything" video where you talk about Infinite Fusions and I'll be complete.
My goat and one of my favorite shinies (managed to get one during XY wondertrades, though it probably is hacked/genned, i still treasure it).
If I could point this out, Aegislash was still pretty strong for VGC. The only problem was that with dynamax being a thing, max guard didn't put Aegislash back into shield form. And so it wasn't considered much because it wasn't flexible with dynamax.
The fact that I could play Doublade -its pre-evo- in OU just fine is really a testament to how powerful the whole line is.
Am I a part of history for suggesting this mon for months and false swipe finally did it?! I also felt this way when I was also suggesting Heatran for months and then he finally did in a month or so ago. I hope I'm getting a shout out for these things by the video uploader. 😉
YESSSSSSS!! I’VE WAITED FOR THIS MOMENT
I see that the Halloween episode ended up being the scariest ghost type of all in Aegislash. Seeing him sent out in battle at a certain point of the game’s competitive scene was tantamount to a jump scare for sure.
Gamefreak: "We are nerfing Aegislash because it is too powerful"
Also Gamefreak: "Hey guys, welcome to Gen 9"
Aegislash is one of the collest pokemon out there, awesome design with a super cool (and super busted) gimmick. i remember using this thing on my team in Y and it literally solos every single important character in the game because of its typing, and abusing every single pokemon imaginable with King's Shield is pretty fun so long as you aren't on the receiving end of it.
