Joy to see your GB-8 in action. I have a big GB-4, used for live gigs. Soundcraft have a very musical desk with massive headroom in the GB Series. It has been sulking in its Flight Case for tooo long ☹️ You have motivated me to get OUT OF THE BOX. Love the Old Skool '70's vibe of the Soul/Funk track on your other vid. Thank you so much ♥️😊
Honestly I think anything you choose, could be a good choice. I hesitate to say that any one thing is better than another. I love my GB8 for certain reasons, but also love my Midas F32 for totally different reasons, but also have a Midas M32 digital console and lots of analog outboard gear, when there's a particular flavor I'm looking for. I've heard good things about the Ghost, from way back in the day - the only way to really know is to get to check it out and see if the workflow and feature set is good for how you like to work. Good luck choosing or trying out something and let me know how it goes! :-)
How's it going? I only use it as a mixing console, but would assume with all of the correct connections, patch bays, tie lines, etc., you should be able to both record and mix.
How do you do ? The mix you make in Soundcraft you send again to Workstation and you print a stereo track ? Or you send the Mix from Soundcraft to a Tape ? What Audio Interface are you using ? Model and Brand ? 24 Outs ? Regards From Portugal nice Video
Hey, thanks a lot Victor! ✌🏼 Yes, I print a stereo mix, from the stereo outs of the console, back into my DAW, Logic Pro X, in this case. I use multiple audio interfaces, but the ones connected to the Soundcraft are, my Midas M32 Digital Console which has a 32 out, 16 in analog connections and 32in and 32out usb audio interface. The usb part is how I get back and forth to the computer, and the audio outs go the the analog console. I use a second audio interface, (Motu HD96 FireWire) for the last eight analog connections, going to the Soundcraft analog console, for a total of 24 outs going to the Soundcraft. The main stereo outs of the Soundcraft, go to a pair of aux returns on the Midas M32, and that gets bounced back into he DAW, where I do any final mastering. Hope that makes sense! ✌🏼. Sound very complex, when you explain or write it, but once it’s setup, it’s very quick and easy to use! Thanks for checking out the video and let me know if you have anymore question. Good day, from Hollywood California! ☀️
Using Focusrite scarlett 6i6 with studio one pro. wants to record live in my next live , just need a stereo output or how can i record whole live through gb 4 and scarlett . i will just record flawless main(mix) stereo .So any stereo output will works good for me .. let me know is it possible ? Thanks in Advance
Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, my guess is that you would record the stereo outs from the GB4 directly into two inputs of your audio interface and assign a stereo or two mono channels in your DAW to receive the audio from the GB4. On my GB8, I use the monitor outputs and send them into my audio interface. Hope this is helpful and if you have anymore questions, just let me know and I'll try to help you figure it out. Be well, Duane a.k.a., July!
@@TheRealMellowFellow So you want to know how to route the two track final mix, back into Logic Pro X? If so, channels 7 & 8, record the final mix. So create two mono tracks, or one stereo track and assign its input (s) to 7 & 8. Lemme know if this helps. Be well ~
I use the converters built into my Midas M32 Digital Console, and those go (Analog) into my old Apogee Ensemble, then to my Focal Monitors. Thanks for asking!
@@RiotHomeRecording Steve, my apologies. 😬. I literally thought I’d answered this months ago, but when I was checking things today, I realized I hadn’t, or maybe I commented directly on your channel, now that I think about it. Man, I friggin love that console! Which one is it? Will have another listen today, and def have more questions. Hope all is going very well, in your musical world. Keep doing whutchu do!
@@timefeelandsoul No worries I get a lot of comments and know it’s hard to keep up. My console is a 1976 Mci 428. It came from a studio that achieved a lot of gold/platinum records on it. It has a thick, wide, sound, lot of color. Here’s a video of my console inside and out. ruclips.net/video/a-yr_5gLgXI/видео.html
Great sounding mixer!
Coolness! Thanks! 🙂

Thank you much! Yes, get that awesome console out and let it inspire you in a new way! :-) Good luck with it, and let me know how it goes!
What would you say best for home recording and mixing, want to get a classic Ghost but I’ve been checking this GB series too.

hello are you able to record & mix with the console without unplugging cables?

I’ve always liked Midas boards! This boards layout reminds me of it.
Me too! I'll be doing a video of my Midas F-32, analog console, in the coming weeks!
