Believe me, I am absolutely stunned by the beautiful and delicate way that they assemble that beauty bike, as if it were a plastic surgery, as that beautiful piece of true Italian art deserves.
@@robertorolfo You know that the bike in this video sells for close to 10,000 Euros easily. So if you can only spend 2000 on a somewhat decent road bike, it's very likely you have to buy Chinese.
Left out the most tricky part, though, which is right behind the Campagnolo lever bands. No matter how many ways I try it, I can't get the extra little strip positioned right to fully cover the bars without gaps. Sometimes I manage, but after a few rides the tape shifts slightly and there are gaps.
In 1996 I had a custom bike built for me. My size, my paint scheme, my parts choices. The entire Record bike was around $4500 with two sets of wheels. Today a cookie-cut plastic tennis-racket with wheels is more.

I think this is a great bike that makes the most of the steel elements, while giving a modern twist to the charm of chromoly. The design of the essential lugs is exquisite, and the paint colors and graphics are up-to-date and tasteful. I also like the fact that it has glaciated tire wheels but not disc brakes.
Very well done series of videos from Officina Battaglin. So much eye candy, these superb bicycles. I'm thinking of giving myself one of their custom bikes for my 72nd birthday in November, 2021. If you get the chance to visit Officina Battaglin you are in for an amazing history lesson in Giovanni Battaglin and the passion he, Alex and the rest of the craftsmen at OB put into every bicycle frame and complete they build. This was one of highlights of our trip in September, 2019, and yes, I did order a Portofino (and my son a Pave') upon seeing the operation they have.
Maybe it's because many builders would not dream of starting a thread with an electric tool. Call me old fashioned, but it's a bad sign in my book, I wonder how many agree with me? After all, this is not a mass production setting, the whole point of a custom bike, and indeed the specific tone of this video, is patience and craftsmanship, is it not? In simple terms we're only a few minutes in and you blew it for me, but hey, your running a business, right? Regardless, your customer will love the beautiful bike!

Assembling the cockpit separately before attaching it to the frame is a nice idea. Given the colour of the frame, I'd have chosen purple bar tape though.
In my experience these coloured varnish topcoats, while they look stunning, they chip very easily. I would cover vulnerable areas with a protective film.
