Funny random thing:
- I trained Fiora in FE7 HHM and she became a pretty good mage killer. She ended up dying in Cog of Destiny to an Eclipse, 9 displayed hit.
To those who don't know, Eclipse usually can never kill, since it deals half the target's current HP. Unless they're at 1HP.
I've also had someone die to Eclipse before. We're part of an exclusive club of cursed individuals

that route actually can have Fiora die to an Eclipse in ch.19xx but rescues her away but Altissimo mentions that she can die to the boss' Eclipse.
Now THAT's cursed. A pegasus knight, dying to an Eclipse, in a chapter almost no one bothers to go to.
Marcus walked, so that Lance could run, so that Lilina could fly.

Also wacky that Level 1/1 Roy can still almost defeat Idoun in 2 hits with the Binding Blade. They really said you don't need any training of Roy, at all.

@@Noctaru The general consensus among the playing on hard mode, trying to be mostly optimal with a relatively low turn count on hard mode and/or a no reset iron man run, is that with very limited number of guiding rings in the game, you should only be using one of Lilina and Lugh, since you shouldn't be buying extra guiding rings, you should be buying boots, later.
Lilina unfortunately comes later than Lugh, and unless you get decent to good luck, she's gonna struggle doubling most enemies, and unless your speed luck was really good, she'll need a speedwing to reliably be doubling hard mode enemies.
Meanwhile, Lugh is pretty much guaranteed to be doubling things throughout the game, without having to worry about additional investment. In addition, being earlier means that he's getting to a higher level earlier and he doesn't have to be fed kills as much.
Thus, when people choose one, they choose Lilina.
Like, obviously, Lilina is still pretty good, she's not a bottom tier unit, but if you can only choose one, it's more reliable to choose Lugh.
If and when this gets remade Lilina needs to be a magic Lord. I use her everytime her battle sprite looka so cool.

He's probably good in no damage taken but you'd likely need to commit your speedwings to hit his speed cap, and I wanted to bank those to ensure Lilina would cap out (Didn't need to, got lucky, lol)
Ultimately I decided Physical Weapon Duty would be Lance's job.

In ch4 the enemies do not attack Clarine, she can drop anyone anywhere and choke points, as such she has immediate use.
Cath is real fun to use, you should do it some time.
Lilina was originally meant to join in chapter 1, I assume they just never buffed her, if they did then dear god.
Wow real miss, Sin is very good especially since he has amazing stats and he has swords and bows on promo, which would be very good for late game, also Sacae wouldn't be that bad, as the nomads have no might, just use douglas, he actually takes 3 damage if the nomads don't roll up, use a dracoshield and reset to roll down, Fae can take the siege magic and staffs.
In fact Sacae might have been easier.
Ch 20x can be cheesed using the desert items trick to make the bottom left seize point guaranteed to end the chapter.
Your Lilina would also likely be able to dodge the enemies.
Dayan would also have been useful for Ch21 and Ch23 with his A rank bows and horse he could help pick off wyverns and rescue others, if he reaches S bows he can also use Mulagir.
The 16x light arrow columns are marked! Arrows only appear on columns with no enemies at the start of the map.
Idunn being easy with the binding blade is very good game design it ties in with both the lore, the themes, and her character, if she was hard to kill it would be a very bad design.
Yeah I don't think the idun fight is poorly designed. The fight vs zephiel is supposed to be the fire emblem final boss of fe6 even though it's just him with no other phases. The true ending is extra stuff and it works fine imo. Also the entire game is hard af so I'm not mad that final bosses and chapters are easy
Actually I strongly considered using Shin/Sin for this run but after playing FE8 No Damage w/ Neimi it's kind of annoying being stuck on either 1 OR 2 range without a weapon covering both simultaneously. Mulagir being +5 speed means you could stack avo to a theoretical 125% with capped speed, luck, and his fire supports.
The bit about Douglas is interesting, you could support him with Elphin/Igrene to stack +5 flat defense if you wanted.

Playing the game again and despite not doing a challenge run, hearing some good points and learning about characters again
Miladys strength comes partially from her hard mode bonuses without them she is kinda mid with not enough defense to tink and not being able to use defensive terrain as you said.

It helps that I used very few promotional items, so I had a lot of stuff to sell.
I also sold angelic robes, and a lot of weapons I knew I would never use.
I did most of the game with cheap weapons like hand axes, so I amassed quite a lot of gold by the end.

Sorry but I'm going to well actually you now. You say in ch. 19 that you can't tell which ballistae have more range, but you can! The ballistae have different map sprites, the longer range one has a bigger arch.

And it’s kinda crazy how both games boil down to making that one super soldier that can take 12 enemy rounds per turn for me on Thracia that somehow ended up being Leif… he’s got 62 Hp and I’m on chapter 5

Saying that people shouldn't be saying that axes are bad when you're literally playing on easy mode is pretty funny.
Axes are quite excellent on hard mode as well, even in the early chapters! If you train Marcus to D-Rank axe on the hordes of lance soldiers in Ch3, you can have him ready to poleaxe down those really strong horsemen in chapter 4, which is much more reliable than hoping Lot or Wade can land a blow since Marcus has much higher skill.
I love calling the game's default difficulty, that you literally can't even not choose on your first playthrough because hard mode needs to be unlocked, "easy mode" derisively. Thank you for your contribution.
@@GKoopa It's not very difficult to upload a cleared save file in order to experience the best way to play fe6 on your first playthrough. Though true, locking difficulties is cringe.
@@enymetouche2558 i mean, honestly, if you're not looking anything up about the game, playing on hard mode for your first playthrough sounds like a very bad time unless you're a FE hard difficulty veteran. normal mode is there for a reason! it is a very reasonable challenge if you're not super optimising the shit out of the game like everyone in this comment section of course is.
it should still let you pick hard without unlocking it though, yes.
