- We had the lad's from @tinkeringwithtanks Visit us today to lend a hand.
I fit the interior back inside the FV432 mini project.
Jack paints the last of the road wheels and fits them to the FV4005.
We then have a big move round and put the Centurion AVRE in the main workshop area ready for painting.
Just goes to show we should have had Ted driving…
why dont you get some radio headsets or radios so yall dont have to yell at each other? lmao
Because things makes stuff cost money and yelling is free @@ChillZone.mp3
Well done lads, them AVRE tracks need a bit of tension 😮
Dents are just scratches with better stories.
@@RobertWillis-c8f THEY said that already.
Any chance you could do a back ground video of your team. It would be interesting to know each person's skill set and how you all came together as you all seem to work very well together.
Yes please!
Yes, BIG please!!
yes, this would be really interesting!
Interesting to know people’s skill sets when so young.
Come on how dumb would that be 🤣🤣 just kidding I suppose. In all honesty I really could care less I just wanted to ruffle some feathers 😉🤯.
TBF, that Jack fella is the first person I have ever seen can walk from backround to the front of a camera shot and his size remains the same.
Dougal ...... now listen . Small , far away . Big , near .
@@anthonycarty9433 First thought that came to my mind, too.
Really!!! I thought he was smaller the closer he got....better get to specsavers🤔
Finding girlfriends who are handy with a scaling gun and a wire brush is a value beyond riches.
Back in the day when I started rebuilding old cars (1978) my girlfriend was the same as your lady, always there helping out. We married in 1980 and despite her current fight with cancer, we are still going strong. We watch your videos together, she loves them, thanks everyone, very entertaining. Cheers from Canada.
Is that Jack's girlfriend? She's got quite a smile, almost like she's single. Mr.Hewes could be sleeping on the couch if he isn't very careful. LOL
They are just lucky guys to be with those lucky girls and wish them the best at all times.
@@woody5109 best wishes
That gal is a keeper!
kids today eh. That 432 sounds and looks so good now. Amazing the difference in organisation when two dogs are supervising.
That AVRE grows it's own mud!
I liked the bit where you had your hand in the track as it started to move back....
Or the long hair near the electric drill.
Yep…😂 clocked both of those..😮steady lads!
man nearly lost the hand 😢
Or the gas tanks unsecured near movin vehicles. Seen a nitro tank go off in an old vid at work, not a fun time. Chain those bad boys, even if empty!
Adam looks like he wants to kill everybody when he’s driving a tank
He's trying his hardest to look like he's not having fun, but we all know his inner 8 year old is filled with glee
That's his Tank Face. Feared beyond measure !
Ted's in his element... even more humans to supervise!
A real pleasure to see so much progress and mission's accomplished - thanks for sharing!
Getting the AVRE back in was like a game of heavy duty curling. You need to up your sweeping game.
That AVRE is probably the nicest sounding meteor i have heard. Beautiful engine 😊
It's the only one that doesn't fart and splutter that I've heard
I've been a fan for quite a few years, I told my son about your channel, he's 11, and it is now his favourite channel.
We take him to the reme museum at Lyneham ( where I was stationed) a few times per year as he loves armour from all generations.
Keep up the good work guys 👍🏻👍🏻
I have only been doing it a year 🤣
Future tank lover and geek. 😊 The next generation is picking it up!
That’s OK, he’s getting a bit old for REME. 😂😂
@@MrHewesTrue but some of us have been following you since you were featured on Fitter Mat channel. I've definately been watching your antics on RUclips for over a year now, just not all on your own channel! I'm pretty sure it started with the Centurian BARV, that video was in May 2021, so i've been following for nearly three years now.
Anyone else flinch when he had his hands in the tracks and the tank moved 😬
I was feeling really p@#£&* off.(I have depression like so many show business stars!! ) trust me they don’t know what they are talking about!! When you have real depression you will be F@#£&*(. But after seeing your latest vids I’m now feeling a lot better. I used to work at Bovington, as a fitter, and sometimes I miss the old days. Thanks guys for cheering me up.👍👍
By the way guys,I don’t think Bovington reconditioned that gearbox. They were sent away. But I can get back to you on that🙂
ah bless Jack - what was funny was watching him get bigger as he walked closer to the camera, but then suddenly seem to shrink again when he got to Aaron - we love you Jack, never forget your a useful guy to have around to fit into those tight spaces, like down the barrel of a gun etc
Adam looks really happy in the rain, test driving his Tonka - i'm off to wash myself down in the rain
I thought he was gonna eat jack..ha ha ha
@@copee2960 i will add, there is nothing wrong with anyone small, as me dear old mum would say 'vertically challenged' ' perfectly formed' - one of my best mates was of small build, but he could punch your lights out in a blink, tough little bugger but he had to slap him and stop him biting at our knee caps haha
Ted doing the important Dog job of protecting the floor from falling food.
Cracking vid. The workshop is looking really good too😮
Tuesday night treat. Can’t wait to get home from work. Woohoo.
4:10 looks proper. Used to look like a swamp. Nobody wants to drive in a swamp.
Loved the collaboration with the guys from the Norfolk Tank Museum. Great plug for their endeavours. Keep up the great work!
"Its not mint, but its better'n it was!" Company motto? 😂
Usually, drying a tank out in the midlands takes all summer. Yet Mr. Hewes can do it in a week. Incredible!
Someday, the shed will be a drive through, the good way or another :D
WOWWWWW!!!!!!!!! DA BIG GUY GOTS SOME "PACKAGE" THERE.....
❤ Top notch as always.
Ah, Mr Hewes pushing that platform brush. Remindes me of Friday mornings down Bovington tank park. RA support troop 1984- 85. Happy days.
The girl working with you guys was absolutely beautifull! what a lovely smile :)
Pretty sure that's Jack's other half.
@@robinhadley Jack's mum??
Neither, but she is desperate.
Please turn off HDR in the camera settings
"Look at em go" cheers jack👍
Best girlfriend ever. Don't know too many who would want to help and be helpful. Anyhow, she's better to look at then you crusty wagons, but I like what you do, so carry on.
OUTSTANDING!
long hair and a rotary wire brush on a drill can get exciting very fast.
Indeed, someone should have a word. TED!
Oh the 60s and 70s , 😂
Lovely to see the vehicle swaps. Joe showed his chops as lead sweeper for the UK heavy tank curling team. Cheers laddies and lassies. Thank you
Cheers from your Nordic neighbour in Sweden. Glad to see you got the sunny weather we also experienced the other day here. Lovely vid as always.
Well my job for today is to fit some reversing sensors on a fiesta ...... I will just pretend its a centurion 😄
Mind out using the sledgehammer to finalise the alignment. Fiesta might cry.
I’ve never seen the tinkling on tanks channel! I’ll keep an eye out as it sounds rather interesting!!!
Lots of people this week. Biscuits for all and thanks for all the amazing videos.
Good to see some very skilled hands having a little tinker! 😯🤓👍👏
If it ever stops raining a little investment in a larger concrete apron perhaps?
I was just thinking that! 😂
If I win the lotto, it’s top of my list. After personal shit obvs.
At least gravel.
I think Joe has grown enough to warrant a dedicated paint shed or at least another 3m + high overhead door bay. And a street brush attachment for the Skidsteer for keeping the apron practically mint. Of course we had a platoon of Pvts and Pfcs with brooms and kitty litter clay drysweep to keep our Track Line in the motorpool clean.
@@Skidderoperator , you not seen what tanks do to gravel, they quickly grind it to dust.
The gearbox was overhauled by 27 District Workshops in Warminster my very first posting in REME in the early 1970`s but not me that did this of course
I haven't seen the girl who helps you back the APC in before. Though I haven't been watching your videos for too long. Is she new?
I havn`t seen her before either, she`s beautiful !, and that smile @ 21.47 is a killer ! 😊
That 4005 is looking great!
Can’t wait for the tracks to be fit and the engine to be in it.
I know the K60 is multifuel but I didn't realise you could run it off vape juice
I see Joe is skilled at AVRE curling 👍🏻
I was only 5 hours late with my "original" comment, then. 😞
@@Ibis117I saw the same, but am nearly a day behind. Ah well.
Sweeping in an AVRE curling style! Now, there is a thing I never thought I would see. You guys have a great relationship together, which makes this channel so good to watch. Kudos my friends, kudos to you all! 👍
Could do with a road sweeper or similar to keep that concrete pad clear as possible..
That paint job came out absolutely brilliant!
please tell that young lass with the drill and the wire brush to put her hair up when using it! I've seen the result of the two coming into contact with each other and a partial scalping is not fun!
Wholeheartedly agree with this comment. Good to see the girls getting involved, if I lived closer I'd come and volunteer.
I think you guys need some bigger hard standing! Have the final drives had or are going to get an oil change ect?
People don’t understand the amount of work that you guys have to do to get these vehicles back into running condition and looking so good. Fantastic job, fellas, and you girls too! Oh, I forgot to mention the supervisor, fantastic job, Ted😊
Who's that other young lady, niiiice
писец он огромный!😮 Западныая школа вся какая-то гигантская)
Another great job you done today 👏 👍. You never get bored in that shop and I think that it is much better then playing with Tonka toys especially with Ted and the girls 😅😅😅
Was that tank curling at 14:26???? lol
Ever thought of doing a wet pit like the Aus museum has so you could drive through and get most of it off? Be a big undertaking but you speak a lot of time cleaning.
Like a modified sheep dip!
Can you do a segment solely on ted and the day inb the life of a assistant tank restorer and inspector
It is astonishing just how much mud can come out of a tank's tracks. Inches of it on the underside of the fenders/sponsons. In between the road wheels. The mud at Ft. Hood was like glue. It mocked our puny hoses. Worth the effort, though. Nothing quite as pretty as a freshly washed tank.
Props to the editor, when they cut in the captain slow, it was almost too much. Had to go back and watch that again.
Jack needs to be cautious of larger people. He could get sucked into permanent orbit around them.
jack halve the size but twice the work
Dont be too Hard on Mr Bossy, He seems to have been working jolly hard and you cannot fault his work.
I enjoy your videos, Joe, and admire your resourcefulness in fixing problems with 80 year old gear. However, that title stuck out like a sore thumb. You can talk about a tank's gun, or a tank's armour, but if you're talking about more than one tank, there's no apostrophe before the 's': "two tanks" or "three tanks". Hope you see the difference?
Good to see a busy workshop ! With Ted the foreman ! Great video Joe!
What do ya do Raves in your workshop?? Size of the speakers 🔊 on the walls 😂😂❤❤
We have the odd party’s here and there
@@MrHewesbound to be frequented by odd bods too.
Indeed, the Bose bass bins & tops hadn't escaped my notice!
I’m so far behind on the vids still😆🤦♂. Didn’t realise you did shed redesigns 😬🤦♂ ahh well, was only a kiss!
Young Jack was dwarfed by the BIG bloke from the tank museum. Always interesting to watch progress of these fine machines too!
The FV432 interior is looking quite nice.I miss my tank, it's been 48 years.
I'm very disappointed not to see Ted at Crufts this year.
What would Chip Foose do? Who cares.
Dude was close to loseing his hands at 8:00!
I take it Adam is the best driver of these things; he seems to get the job of manoeuvring big equipment in tight quarters. I reckon the Stolly with the missing wheels on the trailer was his best work to date.
You guys crack me up
And definitely love what you guys are doing saving history when most people want to destroy it
Wonderful video - thanks
Very nice work by Ted's Dream Team 👍
I am curious how well the Centurion hull will be for the FV4005. I know that the original hull of the FV4005 is a Centurion hull, but they modified a Centurion hull to accomodate the 183 mm gun.
Дякую - то гарне відео . А , ще б цим танкам навчитись - добре себе боронити ---- висувними броне пластинами --- що закриє її від пострілів . Є гарний приклад як то має бути ( що показали в ролику з гри --- Feel the heat of War Robots battlefield! ) . )))
Good thing Ted and your better halfs are lending a hand, otherwise this would have taken some time 😂
14`30" I thought curling was smooth lumps of granite, not tracked armoured vehicles...
Poor Jack, totally unfair comparison! Aaron's conkers are bigger than Jack's head ,!😮
What is Jack going to be when he grows up?
Awesome videos guys nice to see somethings dont change armour will always hide mud and spit it out when you dont want it too usually as a senior officer is inspecting the troop lol 😅 fv4005 comming along nicely cant wait til june and seeing it after all thease years (first saw it turret only in the old play area where the stand for the kuwait arena is now on the floor as a kids climbing thing with an early chieftain turret gun barrel in the dirt 94 time )😂
Why is it that there is more water coming out of the sky than out of your pressure washer constantly where you live? Down here in Kiwiland it's always sunny. At some stage, (when you get a nice dry sunny day lol) can you do a video on swinging a turret around on one of your tanks while driving it. I've been watching for 2 years and haven't seen this.
Hi, I just watched the new video with the Norfolk boys installing the new brakes on the transmission. I know you have several projects, one goin to the States and one for Bovington. I’m still waiting for you lads to carry on with the T-34, what ever happened to that project, cheers.
Some guys have said to me that, your Centurion is not an AVRE. But I’m pretty sure that in the early fifties they were called AVREs due to being renamed as being an (Assault Vehicle Royal Engineers) that’s why it has a Gun/ Cannon. Not sure if I’m right on this. Perhaps you can shed light on this.
I love anything military. I love your videos. I go to watch tanks training at bovington. Ive lost count how many times ive visited the tank museum, cost me a bloody fortune. I would love to visit your place for a day or 2 working on tanks, i could make tea and coffee for you all all day, i could help with painting , cleaning, just being a dogs body, i just love military stuff. i visit RAF Lakenheath to watch F15s and F35s all day, for days sleeping in my car..Am i sad ? I dont care. im ex military, i cant get it out of my blood.
Unfortunately, after the last big war, we Germans changed our entire garden design to small and medium-sized dwarves. They seem less aggressive to visitors.
Still not sure why you guys aren't using a simple set of radios to communicate with the driver from 30 yards away with an uncorked diesel deafening everyone.... just a thought.
Actually guys the gearbox was rebuilt in Warminster. We did the transfer box at Bovi, but not the Gearbox.
Good show mates love watching you work on these Tanks
Those tracks on the Centurion when being moved around, look a bit floppy, loose. Is that normal or does it need a tighten?
I know nuffin' Just an old Sig!
Okay, I'm catching up on past episodes and I have to ask, do you film everything on the same day of the year, or is it always raining in England?
I wish I had a bright orange Rain Jumper that said "Mr. Hewes". I would but one of those if it were less than $50 US.
Boys and their toys!. Great vid as always. 🤣 Ted seems to be shirking his supervisory responsibilities!. 🤣
It was the mention of Chips that did it!
Don't forget the Lass who is always in the background doing really crappy jobs ....
@@1chish making a 'really crappy job' brilliant. really was the turning point from watching Larry, Moe and Curly hanging brake shoes.
i was worried the video would only be featuring them, Hewes equivalent to dropping the kids (us) off at day care. instead we get the same high standards we've learned to respect.
I discovered your channel really attractive, could you say in which country you are, and do you work for private individuals or for military or maintenance companies? Thank you
I saw two transporters with what looked like an old tank on each heading up the M5 in the Midlands today, the trucks had 'Metcalfe' something on them which you may know who they are??
I can’t think of anything more wholesome than nice young people fixing up old tanks!
I've got an idea for the fv4000 , horizontal drive turbo. Your welcome
How do you build the moving time into your costs? It is a big part of your time for sure. Does the sun ever come out where you are? watched 5 videos today no sun at all just mud.
Crazy Tankies. Luv youse all ! Regards from AUS
