if you like this, you'll love this - these guys will actually rebuild you what ever you can afford - use salvaged parts or remake them to highest standard with all the correct markings - maybe that there Mr Hewes should take a visit - Australian Armour just done a visit there and you should check there channel too - amazing work on all fronts

You think museums have money to give it to some guys who have 0 passion and are professionally overqualified or use government funded stuff?

A comment that might be of use to you. Austria’s national army museum had. Number of ex Austrian army MK 3 Cents. I know this because we were using them in 1973 as armoured OP’s at 1 RHA and much to REME’s displeasure these tanks were taken from us for sale to the Austrian’s. Therefore, that museum may well know of the location of parts and spares. I last saw them in the museum about six years ago and there were a group of about five at the Vienna Arsenal most of which is now an industrial estate.
It is a good museum well worth a visit and has the best exhibition of the
Falschirmveiger (parachutists) you are likely to find. They also have an excellent room devoted to the Archduke Ferdinand with bit of paraphernalia full of blood and bullet holes! Oh! Did you know they had battleships? There are some excellent models. Worth a flight and a short stay!

There was also a large open barn of artillery including many muzzle loaders some in bronze or gunmetal and they had been struck, presumably by solid shot of their day which had smeared the metal in the area of the impact. One forgets how devastating old black powder artillery was.

I was thinking that was a v rare engine where one bank could be switched off (in my defence I worked with an outboard engine that cut two cylinders at slow speed, rough as old boots it was) but then I thought it was an early test for exhaust gas circulation. Good work Ted, excellent supervision, keep them on their toes and keep doing what you do best.

i saw one of these in an old tv show called Combat from the 60's and saw one of these hitting a town. Wondered what it was as looks like a lot of modern artillery pieces. thanks for putting this up, now i know what it was and what to look for.

Mr Hewes, I have a ? For you. Did you see that the Bovvie had the wrong Mk of chassis and offer them your Mk 3, or did Bovvie see you had the 3 and begged you for it?
Did you know, that the Tank Museum is just down the road from Monkey World, which is the Regimental HQ of the RMP?
