Maybe look at the prices of the equivalent sized Volvo, BMW or Mercedes (all of which have 4 cyl engines for the most common models)... they're all way, way more expensive.
I love it but can't justify 60k for such little you get for it. Not to mention another 5-10k of dealer upcharges. The CX-70 for example you can get the TOP trim for shy of 60k and get TONS of stuff with it, wireless charging, heated and ventilates seats, heads up display, digital everything, amazing leather interior, moon roof, etc etc etc
Exactly the Highlander is far much better as I do have the Highlander I can say this So called Land Cruiser which is actually a Prado and not a real Land Cruiser this car is wayyy overpriced…
Yesterday I took this car for a test drive, the engine and driving did not disappoint me, but the car itself is boring, I’m not tall, it was cramped for me, the price is too high, one thing justifies that it was assembled in Japan. I’ll wait for the 4 runner 2025, dealers are waiting for the first car in January. Thanks for the review
They should offer this in the 4T no hybrid MAX BS, they could sell these for $45k that MAX is way overpriced and in most cases these cars, like the GH will cost well over $6000 for new batteries. The 4T has plenty of power where you need it, I can chirp all 4 on take off and bear down in corners hard
It’s a different product though. Comfort > capability. Also, the XC90 is a product at the tail end of its lifecycle, and in the US they can be had for significant discounts.
The base GX is a compelling value for sure. I went with the mid trim LC and I just like the LC aesthetic over the GX. But at that level the LC is much better equipped than the 1958 trim.
@canto_v12 wow congrats on the new Land Cruiser! I also think the character is more appealing in Land Cruiser form as well-- after further research, I found that the mid trim does get an upgraded (non-JBL) 10 speaker system that apparently sounds very good at least from factory (can easily add a powered sub to fill it out). The mid trim with no-premium package might be the better option than the 1958. Adding the premium pack looks to push the price into Lexus GX550 overtrail territory. But at low/mid 60s for an LC mid-spec-- might have more curb appeal than the Lexus (more sense of adventure and heritage)
@canto_v12 💯 will have to get to a dealership and go for a test drive! And the cooler vibe of the LC I need to see in person. Have had many land rovers over the years-- while I do like the newer defender, it just lacks basic safety tech that comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (lane tracing assist, etc). Those features are essential to have especially here in LA/socal/freeway driving. Pair that with Toyota (made in Japan) reliability along with the hybrid engine (that comes standard with a 2400 watt inverter)-- makes for one special vehicle. I've also seen youtubers with Toyota hybrids like the Sienna or prius sleep inside their vehicles and have the AC or heat on the whole night- With the HVAC being powered by the hybrid battery (running completely silent like an EV)-- then the engine cycling on to charge the battery up. Might make the new LC an ideal car camping setup too!
It’s slow especially after you recorded a similar 60 mph dash in a naturally aspirated V6 Nissan Frontier, which also recorded similar gas mileage but the Nissan only required regular as opposed to the premium in the Toyota and the Toyota dealer will probably mark up MSRP
in Europe the Toyota will be preferred to the Lexus as it is available with the 2.8 inline 4 Diesel, for the customer shopping for a Land Cruiser, towing, durability, longer service interval and fuel efficiency are in the Diesels favor.
The new LC’s primary differentiator over the new 4Runner, is its roof height. The LC is much more spacious. Whether that’s worth the $10-15k depends on your use case.
If you’re really looking to mod and off-road the car though, this is the spec to get. Most buyers will be getting the mid spec one in the 60s. Which is still cheaper than the old, larger LC which started at $90k.
Let’s sell a limited 4runner with a 4cylinder and basic interior for 1000s more money and we will call it a landcruiser so people will think they are getting a good deal even though it’s really a prado which the 4runner was under the skin Clever marketing? A ruse?or perhaps both?
The motors are bad in the GX. Big problems with the 3.5. companies are not paying attention anymore because their productions are all over the word, so it'll be a slow decline or maybe a fast decline.
I mean if you want a people hauler in the US market they sell the RAV4, Highlander and Sienna. The LC has always been a specialised product for enthusiasts or harsh working environments.
Lots of complaints about the cost of this vehicle. Given the choice though I would pay more for an overpriced Toyota over a cheaper well equipped Jeep Gladiator which is a piece of garbage.
By the way your a smaller man for being 6.feet tall and you have very skinny legs, and your are using up every inch of that seat and there's nowhere for your left arms but that window ledge.
Man did these Land Cruiser owners got suckered into such a bland expensive cheaply made vehicle. Made the right choice rebuying a 5th gen 4runner. That trunk was already enough to feel how cheaply made it is.🙈 ITS THE DETAILS PEOPLE.
i can't believe that this slimmed down Land cruiser is going to be any greater difference than the up-and-coming refreshed 4Runner. Other than name and some cosmetic differences what is the point.
The LC has more cabin tech and a significantly higher roofline. That much is now known. The rest I think will be powertrain differences, with the 4Runner offering lower-powered trims in the $40s.
@@Christoph-sd3zi The fact that there are 2024 4Runners still asking over $60k is indeed insane, because that's how much mid-spec Land Cruisers are, with next gen hardware and much larger cabin.
Am I missing something... $56K.... for cloth, manually adjusted seats, and just generally looking... cheap?
You’re not wrong. At all.
It’s simple and durable. If you want surface-level comfort, buy an Audi. If you want capability, spend it on the LC.
@@supraphonic88 it sill seems over priced though. That's the issue.
4 bowls of ramen with an appetizer is around $100 bucks now. The question should be what’s not overpriced now and days?
I mean that's cheap for a land cruiser

Keep grinding brother one day you'll be able to afford anything your heart desires 💪
only say I can I have I will -- never say negative coz what you say will come to ur life
I don't understand. 5 years ago 60k got you a V8 and a leather interior. Today in 2024 60k gets you a Turbo 4 and cloth seats.
I hate it here.
same
You hate it in the privileged western world of abundance and a terrifying amount of freedom? lol.

@@pablomfx bro has no idea COVID happened.
lol its call inflation or money losing value . get it?
I don't care how capable it is, $60k for a cloth seat 4 cylinder suv is not acceptable.
Definitely too expensive for what you are getting!
The base spec is really for enthusiasts to use and mod IMO.
The mid grade starts in the low $60s and is much better equipped if that's your thing.
It doesnt have a sunroof which means it will not require maintenance much so less service costs. Good for Overland
@@canto_v12 still doesn't fix that overstressed, born to be unreliable 4 cyl.

I would get a 5th gen TRD pro tbh
Can’t believe they didn’t do a custom “Land Cruiser” animation like the did in the 200

It’s slow especially after you recorded a similar 60 mph dash in a naturally aspirated V6 Nissan Frontier, which also recorded similar gas mileage but the Nissan only required regular as opposed to the premium in the Toyota and the Toyota dealer will probably mark up MSRP
