Thank you for this video. Pulling out my drain line and letting it run led me to my clog. Like you I didn’t have anything on the inside drain part of my dishwasher.

Thank you very much! DH and I watched the video, followed your instructions, and our Bosch ran a full wash cycle with no error code. This is the third time in two years that we've gotten the e:24 message.

trulycrabby OK. Glad it was helpful. I wasted 2hrs draining and checking inside the dishwasher. Never had this problem with previous dishwasher in 10yrs. The only difference is Bosch requires the Finish Jet Dry. Maybe something funky with Gel Detergent and Finish causes the goop problem over time??

Like you said no food is ever put in our dishwasher the filter was cleaned regularly. The line and dishwasher were installed in 2006. I removed the hose as you said but didn't find the gunk you did. I then watched another video on here about sucking the hose out with a wet dry vacuum. This did work but seemed to remove the water slower than I thought it should. So thinking like you I filled the trap with Vinegar and let it sit then sucked it dry. I did this 3 times, let the Vinegar sit and then vacuum it out. Then I poured water in it and tried it again. Zip the water drained quickly. Thanks for the tip.

    Hi
Here is another quick fix that works. The filter in the bottom of my dishwasher dishwasher was clean, yet clogged with mineral build up. I soaked the filter in vinegar (like cleaning a coffee maker) for an hour and it was like the second coming of the messiah--the dishwasher works 1000% better, the sound of the washing cycle is much more vigorous, and no more water tap error--for over a month.

Great tip. Like you, I tried cleaning the drain assembly inside the dishwasher first. I had high hopes after finding a piece of glass and some other debris there, but the error persisted. On to the drain hoses and air gap. Hose coming out of the dishwasher was fine, but the air gap and exit hose especially... yuk. Cleaned them both up, put everything back together and problem was gone. Thanks.

This was the right fix! There are several videos on this error code and this is the easiest fix so try first. Thanks.

Following up, the drain line was over 12 years old, installed before we purchased this house. No food goes into that side of the drain. The sludge that came out was gray in color, and appeared jelly like. No food items were present. We don't put food in our dishwasher. So this sludge was either some type of mold, or I think this could be a byproduct of the Dishwasher Gel detergent. If lots of people are having this issue please comment and share if this issue happened to you while using a gel based dishwasher detergent. Also comment if you found a similar gray like sludge blocking your drain line. We have been using Cascade Advanced Power gel.

It is gathering debris and gunk there due to lack of a high loop. if you raise the drain hose high and mount it against the wall (so water doesn't come into the hose from the garbage disposal) then it will be less likely to occur in the future. Good luck!

We have been in the house 12 years. I didn't do that drain line setup. No disposal on that side of the sink. We don't use that side as much, so no food going into there. Also, we don't put food in the dishwasher. I agree the hose could arc higher.

I am about at my wits end trying to figure out what is wrong! My Bosch dishwasher is less then 2 years old! I read the manual and have tried cleaning all filters. The water from the pipe in the back is draining but I still get error code E:24 and its not draining. ugh

I'm having the same issue but it looks like your setup doesn't have an air gap and runs along the ground.. I tried your method but didn't see anything come out. Do you have an air gap line as well?

Man u missed the loop in the hose
Create high loop there. Its very necessary
