Thank you TLM for this wonderful showcase of the TI-84 KE. I could not have done it without your support and the support of the Cemetech community. I am looking forward to version 2, hopefully with 100% more color! This has been an exciting project, full of challenges and learning experiences.
Excellent! This seems like a fantastic desktop calculator. I can easily see it being just as useful in my workshop. Thank you for demonstrating all the essential steps to tune this calculator in your video.
This reminds me of a project from back in the day to create a hard drive for the ti 85, had the ti 86 not come out I might have attempted it. Wish I had now.
This is a super cool project, and I think seeing something like this for the higher end TI-Nspire CX lineup would be phenomenal and could even improve the usage of the device considering its not QWERTY layout
nice, recently i got a TI-84 Plus silver edition and I started to learn a lot, its really cool what you can do with it , really inspiring to see this kind of content
Awesome project! I would like to upgrade my Casio FX 991 DE calculator to mechanical. It also has test points, but I don' t know how they work or how to use them.
yo bro is there a way i can download NoteFolio on my ti 84 plus ce? cause the original NoteFolio is a flash app and there is no flash memory on my ti 84 plus ce so is there any way??? OR if you know a good dictionary app for ti 84 plus ce with a search function that would replace it THANKS
The CE does have flash memory (called Archive memory), the app is just incompatible across calculator models. Unfortunately I don't know of an alternative however cemetech.net ticalc.org and tiplanet.org would be the best places to look.

Sorry mate, I can't just buy everyone calculators. If you're broke, look for a used TI-83 plus. You can often get them for less than $15. If you need something with Python, look at Casio calculators.

The point of this project was just to give the calculator a new body and key switches. The circuit board was reused from the original calculator. As for upgrading the components... There's a lot of major issues with that. 1. That would require creating an entirely new custom circuit board to account for the wildly different components. 2. The OS is only compatible with the eZ80. It's also specifically made to only use the original ram and storage amount. Making the OS compatible with a snapdragon would mean re-writing the OS from scratch. At this point you have a completely different device and should just make something better than the TI-84 Plus CE. Maybe more like an HP Prime G2 ;)
This looks like a TI 92 or Voyage 200 on steroids. What said your teacher or whatever supervisor in your exam to this calculator? It looks like a small computer for cheating with wireless or some Powerful math programs. Thats the reason why Ti change the Querty to an alphabetic layout on the Nspire series. Then in the USA the Qwerty keyboard Calculators are considered as mini computers and are not allowed in the standardized tests.

I love these kind of modding videos
This was really fun to make, but super difficult to plan and shoot. Nevertheless I'd absolutely do it again!
Love it, visuals on this video are amazing
Thank you!
I've been waiting for this video for so long, but it's finally here!
So glad I could finally push this out!
Amazing video and voiceover! When is the video for using the TI-84 as a monitor coming out? Extremely excited for it!

Such a cool project! Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Too bad you still have to jailbreak it to run ASM programs.
Yeah. Using Cesium isn't too bad though
@@TheLastMillennial true
I got a ti 84 plus ce that was os 5.2 but it wouldn’t run asm programs then up updated to 5.3 and it works gonna stay there!
Can you make a tutorial (if it's possible) for put the screen of the calculator on a other screen (like a tv) ?
That sounds fun! My first thought is to use CEmu ce-programming.github.io/CEmu/ (a free TI-84 Plus CE emulator) I'll have to look into it more.
@@TheLastMillennial THANK YOU YOU'RE THE BEST !
@@TheLastMillennial dude this is fucking awesome you’re the man… seriously
Nice! I’m about a year late to see this, but just subbed. By the way, what part is used for the lcd ribbon extension?
i was wondering how you can use your ti84 plus ce as a monitor as you showcased in the video at 4:47
That's with a program called calc2key github.com/dnmalenke/Calc2KeyCE I plan to make a tutorial but time hasn't been on my side lately.

Hakko? Must be nice! Found a tossed out 84 Plus to-day. Not sure if it works, as it looks like the batteries were dead! 😂
Beautiful.
Damn that's really cool, great video!
Thanks man! I'm hoping the TI84CalcWiz makes a re-appearance at some point ;)
Can not find any version of that kit on the mentioned website....
It's not for sale anymore. There's a discord which will have updates when projects are available (it won't be anytime soon)
Can a left handed version of the PCB board by made? So that the metal faceplate can be flipped?
That would definitely be question for Noah Kiser, you can ask him on his discord!
@@TheLastMillennial will you make videos again?
Certainly! I have to take care of myself first though
Nice video, I don't see how you can write on it when no QWERTY keyset?
Pressing 2nd then alpha turns on alpha lock which turns the keyboard into an ABCDEF keyboard. You get use to it.
WHATS THAT GAME YOU PLAYIN AT THE END?

Hi tlm how many mathematical functions does the ti-84 plus ce have?
You can find them all here: tibasicdev.wikidot.com/command-index
Tlm can you specify how many mathematical functions it has, does it have 400?
Bro, I don't have time to count all those lol.

why is your pfp the thing from portal?

Great project. Would have been great if you used a modern processor (snapdragon, etc) and more ram (256mb) and storage (256mb)

Hi from Australia
Hello!
Very cool. Can I get one for my TI-59? :D
Can anyone give me any info on how to use one as a monitor??
Here's the program github.com/dnmalenke/Calc2KeyCE
The kit doesn't seem to exist any more. Oh well, the video was interesting. Cheers.

I'm not great at playing the RUclips algorithm game yet :(
I will never understand the obsession with mechanical keys. Cool project though
To be honest, I don't even have a regular mechanical keyboard. I wanted to replicate the feeling of an old, fully mechanical calculator.
