As a single dad raising a son, and a veteran who has had his daughter ripped from this life because of his service, I say whole heartedly. There is a war on fathers from all fronts. We are not allowed to be good fathers even when we want to be.
A good example is calling single mom's super heroes, and not a word about dads that are doing it alone without all the help and support.

There's a war on *men* ...period. Has been growing since the 90's, just gets worse by the year. I'm not griping or whining because like most men I'm used to it and an take it. But I do retaliate by looking out for myself first; no gf, wife nor kids, all of which would be burdens on me at this point (middle age) anyway. And not sure I want any western female regardless.

My father always was. I credit him primarily with turning out ok because he disciplined us when needed. I hated it at the time but now I am so grateful for it. When I look back I always deserved it for the stuff I pulled as a kid. Dads are vital even for raising girls. I had a good mom but she wasn't effective at discipline. Dad was and I had a healthy fear of his punishments when I messed up. I only feared her for telling on me to him.

We all agree - kids thrive best in family units with two parents and an extended family to support.
Why then are we considering rejecting Roe v Wade? We are opening up the flood gates of single teens and young women living in poverty trying to raise kids on their own.

I was raised by my grandmother. I didn't have a father growing up and I pay for that everyday. My grandmother, bless her heart, did the best she could and I hold no ill will against her. There's just some things a boy needs to learn growing up that a woman can't teach. I'm still figuring out things that should have been taught to me by a father when I was a child or a teenager and I'm almost 40.

Last year with no place left to turn I prayed to God in repentance then begged for help with all my heart, "I was until then a lifelong Atheist."
I then had a dream of Jesus coming before God and he spoke of the Tabernacle in perfect context, "A word I didn't know existed because I've never read the bible", and the love I felt from Jesus was unlike anything I've ever felt before - A lifetime of joy every second - It brought me to sobbing and it changed my life forever.
I've had other miracles since, a few being a light turning on in answer to deeply needful prayer 6 times, seeing a orb of light hours before a major surgery, seeing an Angel in a dream the night my mother prayed for me to see one, "Without telling me", and so much more.

When he found out I had autism, he helped make sure my future would be on the right track. No, I was never perfect, which is to be expected, but whenever he has wanted me to listen, I listen. A father should always be there for his kids, advising them, teaching them to be a better person, helping them get back up on their feet. As a father, you don’t abandon your children.

Dad was there but working all the time, I can't think of one thing he showed me over the years. When my wife gave me my two boys I spent every waking moment to be with them. No one was going to abuse them or introduce them to drugs and I didn't even see the bond and friendship we had. They have now grown men but still want to spend time with me. Even now at this moment, I'm in PR with my younger son's family. He gave me this vacation as a gift and if you ever see us you would think we are just friends until one of them will say hey pops. God has surely blessed me. As for my dad, he's now 92 and wants me around more than he ever has and that's ok, I will see him out with love, respect, and dignity.

Loyalty, honesty, less divorce and the shame for doing those things made people work harder to be good to each other and make it work because a relationship is work. Shame can be good if used on the right things.

I haven't even finished this clip and as a father separated from his children I feel that too much of a double standard is set to the mother it automatically goes to Mom Dad is financial provider 100% but when it comes to raising and stability discipline and everything else where the lowest on the totem pole I have never missed a weekend with my children I try to be as supportive as possible even with an abusive individual that feels she has all the power I think that needs to be the number one thing if you going to do it one way do it across the board I've never had a problem with being child support or anything financial even outside of what is court ordered but then you have to be the same way with fathers when it comes to custody especially with fathers that want to be in their children's lives this is a very touchy subject for me and I always feel like there's a lot to say about this

If the mother is stable I can see why it’s first choice because of the bond made carrying the baby for 9 months. Have you ever seen a whale baby taken from its mother? The mother whale cries and cries. It reminds me of dumbo when the mother tried to protect dumbo but then got labeled as a dangerous animal and taken from his mother. Every situation is different. I don’t agree mother’s should use children as pawns and keep children from parents. I’d say if both parents are stable and split 50/50 is best. People have to get over their pride and hurt to make the best decisions for the child(ren)

I love you babygirl. May you look back later in life and know I have NEVER wanted anything but the best for you and your baby brothers. Life isn't always fair, nor is it even promised to be easy. Just keep your head up and know you all are in my thoughts hourly. Not a day has gone by that I wished things had been different. But Daddy going to make sure before this is is over that you, your brothers and all the other orphaned children of this world know that you and they are most precious in this world. Never harden your heart towards this world, never let them take away that light and kindness that makes you so amazing! I am proud of you my daughter, I wish I had the chance to be there for you today on this day that you are become a Woman.

He was toxic and my kids would have been at higher risk for crime and prison WITH him there as an example. I seriously get enraged by these “ statistics “ that are constantly a narrative. Situations are individual and a man in the house doesn’t fix a child’s world. Sometimes it tears it apart!!! My kids are who they are today because of the struggles we faced. They learned hard work watching me do whatever it took to support them. SOMETIMES kids are doomed to failure if the father remains in the house!!! It infuriates me when people make it seem my kids missed out on a full life because they had no father!!!

From a 2005 City Journal article titled *The Black Family-Forty Years of Lies:*
Throughout the 1980s, the inner city-and the black family-continued to unravel. Child poverty stayed close to 20 percent, hitting a high of 22.7 percent in 1993. Welfare dependency continued to rise, soaring from 2 million families in 1970 to 5 million by 1995. By 1990, 65 percent of all black children were being born to unmarried women.
In ghetto communities like Central Harlem, the number was closer to 80 percent. By this point, no one doubted that most of these children were destined to grow up poor and to pass down the legacy of single parenting to their own children.
The only good news was that the bad news was so unrelentingly bad that the usual bromides and evasions could no longer hold. Something had to shake up what amounted to an ideological paralysis, and that something came from conservatives. Three thinkers in particular-Charles Murray, Lawrence Mead, and Thomas Sowell-though they did not always write directly about the black family, effectively changed the conversation about it. First, they did not flinch from blunt language in describing the wreckage of the inner city, unafraid of the accusations of racism and victim blaming that came their way. Second, they pointed at the welfare policies of the 1960s, not racism or a lack of jobs or the legacy of slavery, as the cause of inner-city dysfunction, and in so doing they made the welfare mother the public symbol of the ghetto’s ills. (Murray in particular argued that welfare money provided a disincentive for marriage, and, while his theory may have overstated the role of economics, it’s worth noting that he was probably the first to grasp that the country was turning into a nation of separate and unequal families.) And third, they believed that the poor would have to change their behavior instead of waiting for Washington to end poverty, as liberals seemed to be saying.
