    These are great for adding 5 mph or so, and you definitely need to start with these. But, if you wanna add 15-20 mph, you have to learn how to use the ground. Not only for rotational torque, but for vertical forces too. Short hitters only use their arms, and they just spin their shoulders and hips with no purpose, or intent. Long hitters learn to transfer pressure into their legs, and apply the brakes(push off) with their feet. This create snap, and effortless speed that feels AMAZING. Give this a try peeps. It’s worth the effort. There’s plenty of guys on RUclips that teach this.

      I always know when I’ve used arms in my swing! The ball doesn’t go anywhere. I think about my hips and putting force into the ground.

    • @jamiesloan7259
      @jamiesloan7259 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@lifezgr8t I seem to swing only with my arms especially when I’m thinking about contact, or when I need a perfect shot under pressure. I’ll get very conservative with using my body, as I try to sorta guide the club into the ball. And guess what….it rarely turns out good. I strike the ball, and score better when I go out there and just swing freely, and athletically, with carefree confidence. Tension, and doubt are killers in this game. I also roll more putts in, when I strictly focus on starting the ball perfectly online, and NOT worry about the outcome. Golf is a head game, my friend. lol

    The "strangle, let go, find the middle" thing is actually something I do in bowling to keep my grip light when my hand is in the ball. Looking forward to trying this with my golf clubs, since I tend to choke them to death.

    Excellent video Alex on how ridiculously easy it is to get a 100 MPH club head speed ! I have been spending a lot of time on this subject matter and found that as a senior golfer with bad knees, trying to attain that type of club head speed is ridiculous. I am not opposed, however, in trying to increase my clubhead speed. In doing so, I have gone to a lighter grip, light forearms, hinging and unhinging the wrists, and a upper body rotating behind a lower body. Well Done Alex! Thanks for the validation!!!

    Hey Alex , great video as always . I’ve got a question , right now I am working with my local pga pro to help with my swing and try to make it as efficient as possible .
    Should I wait to correct all my flaws before trying to add speed ? Or does speed go hand in hand with efficiency? Thanks

    • @AlexElliottGolf
      @AlexElliottGolf  7 месяцев назад

      If im being totally honest you will never fix all your flaws, i don’t either, we all have flaws i think it’s impossible to be perfect, so i would focus on getting to a stable condition with your golf swing then adding speed. All the best!!

    Hi Alex, great stuff!! an issue I have is, I swing the club down slightly over the top but it feels like it comes from the position of my hands at the top, where my right hand (I'm right handed) is too vertical and not laid off and my wrist slightly cupped. This results in a pull down vertically and of course coming over the top. I've always managed to get the club back in some ways at the ball but it is so inconsistent and I tend to hit the ball really hard and low flight especially with woods (results in lack of distance). Is there a way of checking my right hand position at the top of the swing as the palm of my hand gets to a point where it feels like it is facing forward rather than bowed back. Is this common?

    I'm still struggling with my driver. I know to release he club and i'm pretty sure I do that. I do it with my irons, my 7i is 160-165 carry and my 4i usually ends up at 205-210 carry. That is what I use off the tee most often, 4i is a mid to upper 90's swing speed. The max I hit my driver when it makes a perfect connection is 230 carry. I've tried hitting up on the ball and my swing speed with driver can be as low at 95 and as high as 112 though the high end is swinging out of my shoes. Problem is I can't seem to make good contact at that swing speed.

      @@AlexElliottGolfWell, I've hit about 70 balls out behind the office. I should have asked if this was just for full swings. I started out with 60 partial 58° wedges between 62 & 82 yards. Mostly with a firmer grip pressure, with some using my usual light pressure. After that small amount, I'd say it's not conclusive for partial swings, though firmer seemed to have led to tighter side to side dispersion. After I realized it may be just for full swings, I made sure the last five were full swing with a firm grip pressure and they were really good side to side and front to back, like all within a eight yard wide and three yard deep rectangle at 99 yards. Thank you for the help! I'll let you know how it goes. Do you do online lessons? I couldn't tell from the website. It looks like only in person.

      I feel your pain! 20 years ago I was around 100mph and now at 58 and after several years of health issues, I'm down to 85mph. There is no way my body will ever get back to that younger me. I'm fine with that. This is the game we play as we get older. The thing is that we are still getting out and playing!

      I'm the same, was down to a 4 at 30 , never new my speed though, who did 20 years ago! Now I'm 52, just started again and I'm about 98mph average, I have just started to break my left arm more,( I try to keep it straight with irons), and take the back swing higher, above my man boobs. These two allow for an easier longer backswing. My eyes feel like they leave the ball a bit but it's gained me a few mph. Worth a try?
