Zaithisk is a curious little thing, optional obviously. Very important for Lae'zel story, but of course when you let her go there it goes like it did for you :-) Depending on how many checks you fail, she receives debuffs, in your case Lae'zel got three permanent debuffs, one very significant. You also can get an ultimate permabuff there, but you really need to be extremely lucky or spec for that. Zaithisk is an important part of solo playthroughs :-)
Absolutely brilliant strategic withdrawl!! The Githyanki are quite powerful, especially the parry reaction. If it is any consolation, i have had many a playthrough ended in the creshe, notably in this fight. I am impressed with your use of the drow poison, I tend not to use poisons, but you have me reconsidering my position. Sleep is quite a debilitating condition. One tactic you might consider is that an attack within 10 feet of a sleeping target is an automatic critical and, since sleep also prevents reactions, the parry is not an option. Thus, on the last round of the sleep effect, you might want to avail yourself this spike in damage. Again, another fantastic video. Best of luck with the remainder of the creche. Cheers
@@marcrainbow1714 Drow poison is not bad (as it turns out, I used to think it's useless), but in this fight it was a hindrance, distracting from good tactic. Thrower must throw, he had a returning pike, should have used it. Winning tactic here was focusing Therezzyn. Still dangerous, but using all action surges and potions of speed right away it was at least possible. Not bad outcome as it is by any means of course, great fight regardless :-)
@@alexmashkin863 I concur that focusing on Therezzyn is a viable tactic and may be optimal (it is how I typically approach this fight). However, I appreciate Immersioner's unique tactics. It is refreshing to witness a non-consensus fighting style. It may not be optimal, but it is entertaining. As for the lack of throwing, in this encounter, his options were limited. The trident wasn't bound, thus would not return. While the returning pike is an option (I am not certain he has it in his inventory), utillizing this weapon would result in the loss of his sheild with a subsequent reduction in AC. He seems to be pursuing a more holistic fighting style, balancing offense and defence whilst varying between melee and throwing. Bsaed on his current build, perhaps the returning pike would sacrifice too much defence to ofset the gains in offense.
@marcrainbow1714 Of course returning pike wasn't optimal, but it was a legitimate chance at winning the encounter. That's all I'm saying here :-) I know he doesn't play optimally, it's ok. Here, however entertaining the fight has turned out, tactical approach was wrong from the start. Not suboptimal, wrong. The moment Lae'zel got hit with disarm from fearful condition, the choice was between fleeing right away or trying to focus big bad. Relying on multiple rolls that enemy has to fail in order not to kill you is never a good tactic, unless you go for a comedy. If that's the case, then success, it was funny :-)) Edit: He had ton of daggers, so throwing was an option. It's still better damage and accuracy than poking with trident. But if course the hilarious sleep poison tactic couldn't have been implemented. I admit, it was a brilliant play, I'd never thought of that. In his situation I'd be withdrawing immediately :-)
Close shave. But good save. A Githyanki creche has many dangers. The Captain is just one. Treat every room that you enter as a possible battle to the death. Especially with jus the 2 of you. I still think that getting a hireling, even if just as a slave to carry stuff, would be entirely immersive. But your adventure.
Yeah, it’s pretty tough. I like it though. A little strange though that the gith in the hallways completely ignore what’s going on in other rooms… feel like this could have been scripted better as it’s quite confusing and immersion breaking imo… No room for three here though… trying to keep this PG…
Dear mister Immersioneer, I humbly implore you to take Alert at level 6 on both chatacters :-) Honour mode will get that much smoother and our chances of seeing the ending of the current love story will improve greatly. Thank you! 😜
We’ve got this, don’t worry! We need 20 strength for both at level 6 and then we can think about other things! Although Alert does kinda fit Lae’zel’s character…
1:25:14 iirc, one of the blue framed weapons in your inventory is the _returning pike_ . maybe use this until you can fetch the trident. on a side note: if you forget to bind your throwing weapon, why not throw some of the javelins, axes, daggers or spears in your inventory? the heavier they are the more damage they do in general. anyway, that shield spell was doing a lot of heavy lifting in this episode. 🙏
33:52 did you notice that nice brazier above those four Gith? or the barrel right next to the door? was it filled with a flammable liquid? luckily, both of your iniative was high enough to go first before all the other Gith. one of you could shoot down the first brazier and maybe even the second brazier too to get the doctor. one could grab the barrel and place it in a more useful spot to set it on fire - if it is filled with alcohol or oil. 😏
12:49 what, first you avoid making a decision and let Lae'zel answer in Gith dialogues - twice in a row and then you just let her step into that totally unknown and suspicious looking contraption? it's one thing for Gith wanting to get rid of the ghaik tadpole asap but would your sage Gith not ponder a bit about the implications? if not, why not let him go first? too risky? 🤨entertain the audience and let us know your thought process when making decisions like that. 🙂
Thanks! Maybe I should have explained this better - I had full faith in our kin and our Gith technology, that's why we didn't questing the doc or the Zaith'isk. We let Lae'zel go first because she was so keen on it and you know... ladies first :)
46:28 '...she will do double damage though, right?' is she wet or otherwise at an disadvantage? she burns. why would lightning do double damage on her unless you land a critical hit? 🤔
@@immersioneer maybe I don't understand the mechanic fully but if a target stands in water the lightning arrow electrifies the water but it doesn't do double damage. if you make the target _wet_ then ice/lightning arrows deal double damage. iirc, sometimes the target is 'wet' by standing in deep enough water but a puddle usually isn't enough.
Standing in water does not make you vulnerable to lighting :-) It's Wet condition specifically
That’s annoying! I think that would have been a good interaction… :/

I think you you can fix Lae'zel's stats by giving her a tadpole, not sure tho
@Oliver-es4ld Yes, you can. But that of course is not very appropriate for this particular story here :-)
Yeah, I like the story of it though. I think we’ll have to eat a tadpole though to fix Lae’zel… let’s see…
I respec.ed my Lae'zel in a throwing build like you. I now understand your confusion lol
Yeah, throwing is a bit “ergh” in its implementation…
That cheeky rest was priceless for someone with that channel name 😂 Mad dash or sneak for exit would have been 'immersive' :-))
Yeah, but I do follow game rules if absolutely necessary. Don’t think there was any other option. Just a quick Githyanki power nap! 💪
Good save! 😃 Therezzyn is no pushover :-) Explore crèche, don't rush for inquisitior, and when you do, be very ready. You can kill Therezzyn though
Yeah, that fear is pretty brutal. I feel like Githyanki should have an advantage vs freightened similar to halflings.
What a save with drow poison :D
Yeah, worked out well for us overall though!
That fear is a real killer.
Not the hardest fight in here, though :p
😬 - yeah, two turns as well, it’s pretty crazy! Need to bring that wisdom up… but how =/
@@immersioneer Need to bring initiative up, wonder how 🤔 Things like fear - better seek immunity, Calm Emotions and things like that

Thanks a lot! It was a tough one, for sure. Tougher than I expected!
Lots of good tips here - I definitely need to make better use of Throw still!
The captain of the creeche is an hard nut to crack 😅
@@ssstegel It's not :-) Going in blindly with the party of two - it always can go wrong, inherent danger of this run composition.

Vlaakith blessed us on that day!
That was rough! Good luck recovering from the battle.
Thanks! We’ll be back on our feet in no time!
When you click auto select for the camp supplies, you can just click it again to automatically adjust it to the 80 you need.

You might know this one but, if you click the + sign at the bottom right of your hotbars, you can expand it to have a 4th row.
