Great recap. I can’t believe it’s been 4 years already. Time flies when you collect broken couplers. You’ve come a long way. A fantastic feat for Fast Freddy.

Oh, now I get it. Fast Fred E Appleseed planned a video recap and didn’t see much of a change in the last season so he broke out the grass and applied a lot of Mother Nature to the layout for a quick fix, lol. Well, whatever the motivation, it vastly improved your layout, Fred. I hope you have a safe trip to SAT and look forward to that layout and a return to this one in the summer.

Thanks Derek 😀. You got that about right! FF kick into high gear at last minute to get some scenery to finish line. ps. Tried my static grass applicator again but another failure. Strike 2 🤬. I’ll give it one more try in SAT. If I strike out again…it’s going to be sold on eBay. I might put in the description “Worthless, impossible, ridiculous, POS device. Buy at your own risk. No refunds.” Well… the last 2 words for sure.

@@FredE528 😂 yeah, I think if you add all of the rest, you might own it for a long time. Safe trip, Buddy.

In your opening shots you have the plastic laying over the layout... Do you find that it really helps with keeping the dust off/tracks clean? Is it worth the effort? I can definitely see the value of covering sections of the layout that I'm not working on, I'm just curious how you feel about it. Thanks! Oh, and I love your ethanol plant!

Thanks Allen 😀 My basement doesn’t have any ducts so there is little dust pushed by the furnace. But I get some dust. I don’t worry about covering all the track as it’s pretty simple to clean. My goal is to keep it off the buildings and rolling stock during the 7 months that we are in Texas. I do have dust easily visible on my black tankers. I think a lot of this was built up as I worked on the layout. I was not as careful covering areas as I could have been. At some point I’ll get busy and clean it off. Some guys call dust a weathering technique. 😀. So yes, I think it helps.

@@FredE528 Ahh...that's right, you aren't always there, that makes sense. Yes...dust IS a weathering technique and don't let anyone tell you different! LOL

Thanks JD 😀. I think that next summer I’ll get a lot of scenery done and add more backdrops. I need to start some minor building weathering. Robert’s work weathering the cement plant inspires me to try this. No plans to weather rolling stock or locos.
