    So Collingwood is an alternative Fareham in the 2000s then, very nice.

    • @trepatrickjunction4387
      @trepatrickjunction4387  3 месяца назад +1

      Just looked up Fareham and you're right, the track layout looks almost identical and the footbridge is very recognisable! kind Regards, Joel

      @@trepatrickjunction4387 I stayed with my Aunt for 6 months who lived just under the road bridge which is a canal on the model also the bridges were steel not open, but yes the platforms are basically Fareham even the end building is styled the same as is the portacabin on the outside of the line. Obviously its sort of a basic Fareham but it goes to direct to Gosport with no line to Portsmouth. the other end has the stone yard, with the Southampton and Eastleigh lines. To be honest it hasn't changed since 33's and 5 coach loco hauled services were on the Portsmouth to Cardiff way before 158s/166s.

    • @trepatrickjunction4387
      @trepatrickjunction4387  2 месяца назад

      Hi, It really depends on which scale you have and how much scenery you want to have, a lot of the layouts were about 2 - 3 feet wide, with some smaller ones just over a foot. For example Collingwood is about 30 feet long, but some of the shunting layouts can be just a few feet long. It also depends if you want the layout to be end to end then it can be thinner but if you want the trains to curve around (continuous run) the the boards will need to be wider (I think for 00 with radius 2 curves you need a width of about 3 feet). I hope this helps and enjoy planning your layout!
