This place is simply amazing! My wife and I went there in early 2023. We spent 6 hours there and didn't even get to look at all the detail of all the areas. The Hamburg area includes a miniature of Miniature Wunderland. You can look inside the model building, and you see a twice shrunk miniature version of Miniature Wunderland. It is possible to buy a behind-the-scenes tour, too.
Went to Miniature Wunderland last year. Never expected it to be so impressive, your brain can't take it all in. A little tip: it's a really, really popular attraction, so it's best to buy your tickets way ahead. We purchased tickets 3 days ahead, and were lucky to snatch the last ones for that weekend.
Absolutely. Plus with the purchase of the ticket you get a time slot for entry. I think the price of admission is more than reasonable for what you get to see.
Just to give everybody a good view. They could sell more Tickets, but then the halls would be packed with people. So you have to book a ticket in advance, but can be sure to see the trains and cars, the buildings and the people...
I live very close to Miniatur Wunderland and visit it at least two to three times a year for almost twenty years now and every time I discover something new. I can highly recomend to visit this place, because it is a totaly different experience when you see it for yourself and not in a video :)
My favourite? The minute details that surprise you. Batman on a roof top. An exhibitionist in a window. Romeo and Juliet performance. A protest march. The fire engine rushing to a fire. Lovers hidden in a field. A crime scene by a stream with a person floating in the water. A car crash. And not least a few visitors rushing through barely looking at the scenery (obviously just wanting to brag about having been there).
Underwater cows wearing scuba gear and a guy carrying his horse, just to name another two curiosities. One day isn't enough to see everything in detail, but after one day feet will hurt.
I could finaly visit Miniatur Wunderland this weekend after many years wishing to come! Worth the visit! 4 hours inside and still with the sensation I could spend days inside the building to see every detail! At the hotel I found one that visited this museum 40 times! Now I know why!
Was there a few years ago. Mind blowing! You need at least a weekend to appreciate the whole display. Attention to detail is beyond anyone’s imagination. Truly one of the most memorable places I’ve ever been.
This is, I think, one of the most remarkably impressive and increasingly jaw-dropping things I have ever seen or will ever see. With every minute of this video I was just left more and more amazed.
I've seen videos of this for year but it's one of those things that I think I need to see in person to truly appreciate the scale of it all... It is on my to do list.
Fun fact: when the cars are recharged, they run faster than with nearly empty batteries. In this case the are exceeding some of the display's speed limits and are getting caught and ticketed in speed controls.
What a great overview of its current state. These crazies continuously add more stuff to it, so if you've seen it once it's not a mistake to revisit after ten years or so.
Love the fact that the airplanes actually take off, that' so cool. It is not the first miniature airport though because Madurodam Miniature Park The Hague which opened in 1952 has a miniature Schiphol Airport Amsterdam.
The airport in Madurodam Miniature Park can’t simulate real airport operations tho (mainly due to size and not enough space), unlike Knuffingen Airport, where you actually have vehicle coming to every plane that has landed
the clouds should be scarce with a backlit (LED based) light blue sky, much better than dark grey curtains! i can definitely suggest upgrades to these sets to make them much better. they can also alternate the sky with an entirely black shroud with small LED bulbs to indicate stars at night and a fine mist that is moving to indicate clouds.
@@guestuser1212 There's always things to improve. The curtains might have been the best (=easy to implement, durable) solution they could come up with at that time like 15 years ago when the airport was built. They've learned a lot since then, and might find an even better solution today. There's other parts where you can see the age, like the cars on the airport carpark being several generations behind what it would look like today, or the america section, which is one of the first that was build and in some parts looks really crude compared to the new stuff they build. They are constantly not only building new sections, but also modernizing parts of the older ones, but the day has only so much hours. And another very important consideration: everything has to be very sturdy. No manufacturer builds model trains intended to be run 12+ hours every day for months and years...
Just wow! I could spend hours going through this setup looking at all the details. Is that a gold colored Ferrari F40 that mini Supercar Blondie is standing next to?
I've been there several years ago, and it was amazing. A true 7th world wonder ❤ Go to Hamburg, take a hotel, and use the next day totally on this Miniatur wonderland! You really need a complete day to see it al,!
Yeah I would have liked to see and hear more about all of it actually works. Underneath what everyone sees was just incredible. A level of building that most people don't even know exists and not just with miniatures. People have no idea the amount of wiring, pipes, and everything else it takes to make things work. I was an electrician for a while and did some industrial sites and the work when done is just a thing of beauty and what I saw in this video reminded me of that but on a whole other level. While I only dealt with electrical work these guys are dealing with the entire gambit of infrastructure it looks like.
I never knew I needed this on my bucket list. Thank you for going and putting this content out in the world!! Great content, and that place is beyond amazing and such great detail most people don't appreciate
This makes me feel better that I am working on my own version of a scaled village for my own scaled diecast cars. Mine is a Lego based building system. It can be used as a complete system or setup as individual buildings. As far as this goes, this next level detail. Just amazing!!
This 15 minutes show only the tip of an Iceberg and don´t do this place any justice.. it is so much much more. you can not imagine if you have not seen it life.If you go for a first time and are really into the details... plan a whole day and you will barely make one round through.
Visited in 2018. Flew from Paris to Hamburg just for the day to visit Miniature Wunderland. Took some great photos. Don't know what it's like now. It was advised to book before you go. We were lucky they were able to get us in. We had to wait in there café until out ticket number came on the screen. They have lockers for bags to go in before you enter the layout. Then it was off to Rome. Was worth the trip.
I visited this in 2018, and i will go back. 2 hours is nothing when u start watching these models, so make sure u have a good time. I think i spend 3,5 hours in this building back then.
I visited this place in 2023 and it is truly a spectacle to behold. We spent 5 hours in here and we really could’ve spent more! There’s SO MUCH to see and the results are truly incredible.
This is actually above the level of GERRY ANDERSON, the creator of "Stingray," "Super Car," "Fireball XL5," "Captain Scarlet," "Space 1999" and "Thunderbirds." To name a few He did "Supermarionation," marionette puppets with electric moving parts. There were WHOLE miniature cities, flying cars, underwater space age submarines! Missiles, planes, bombs just fantastic! But THIS, THIS is AMAZING detailed work!😎😎
@ One myth you could bust, is the myth that you can use the language as a “I think this word should actually mean this, so I will insist on that usage until I get my way”. A bit like calling people illiterate and decide that from now on it actually means smart.
They could make money with this by allowing people to rent vehicles with cameras and let you drive around through the internet, And then share that with other people (what they see). Although you would need to figure out a way to keep people from accidentally causing problems (cars wrecking into stuff, creating traffic jams, getting stuck, etc.). If people are intentionally making a mess, you could ban that IP address from actively using a vehicle for a period of time (not forever, unless it's really bad).
O que impressiona mais do que as miniaturas é a engenharia por trás de tudo isso! A complexidade que é manter tudo funcionado e se auto carregando é sensacional!! Tinha que ser na Alemanha, referência em tecnologia e produtos de qualidade
Thank you for bringing this to us... Living in South Africa, I don't get to travel... This is so, so amazing.. I wish I can take my family to experience it.. just stunning... Amazing! Good job on this Video!!
You guys really need to work on your perception and understanding of physical dimensions. In the Largest vehicle Video you say that a 6,3 m long vehicle is twice the size of a 5,3 m long Range Rover, also that two Range Rovers equal 30 m in length. Then you talk of a 23000 horsepower engine in a dump truck, which is actually 2300 hp. And here you state that Miniatur Wunderland (which in fact is absolutely awesome) is as large as Londons Hyde Park. Miniatur Wunderland covers an area of 1694 m², according to their press kit. Since 1 km² has 1 million square meters, Hyde Park has about 1.4 million square meters and thus is about 1000 times larger than Miniatur Wunderland. This should also be apparent for someone who has walked through Hyde Park and Miniatur Wunderland already. So even if you wanted to compare the scaled size it doesn't work out. With the scale being 1:87, so scaled up to life size it would equal approx. 13 km² (1694 times 87 times 87). Then you state that the mileage equals 26 times around the world. As the circumference of the earth is 40000 km and Miniatur Wunderland has, according to their website, 10.3 million km on their trains this equals 257.5 times around the earth. It's not that you're a science channel, but you're a tech channel, so such flaws in just the two of your videos I've watched today still is a bit disappointing. Please do a bit of research and fact checking.
Wow, this was so impressive to watch! 😮 The behind-the-scenes stuff, like the vehicles charging themselves, is crazy. Can you imagine being able to pay to control a tiny camera remotely, view it from the internet, and use it to walk around like a person? 😂
