if you use gsync and vsync (ncp) you can either cap the frames in the game 5 frames under your monitor refresh rate, or use ultra low latency and it will cap the games for you and this will get rid of all the delay that you will have, and turn off vsync in game.
Hi Whale, I just wanted to really thank you for this honest and direct video. You convinced me to send back my benq and get the Asus 360hz. It has been AMAZING. But I do have one question, with the upgrade of 360hz, it seems the CPU becomes even more important than ever before. So single core performance is extremely important in order to reach those frames. My question is what build would you recommend for 360hz? I see on your channel you have a 5800x3d cpu on a water block, but with the release of the new raptor lake intel CPU's, I was curious on your current outlook on CPU's now? Thanks again Whale!
Have you ever seen tearing? I only saw it once I used a tv as 2nd screen Had 120hz and now 240hz, never seen tearing, played plenty of games over 300 fps CSGO battlebit apex(200) So basically any sync technology is kinda pointless or I've just had okay screens.
Whale, NVCP V-sync does not act the same when G-sync is enabled and the game framerate is inside the refresh rate range. Instead of buffering multiple frames it makes the G-sync module compensate for frametime variances by adjusting the length of the vertical blanking interval to keep the scanout consistent (reduce tearing). Blurbusters proved this back in 2017, the only added delay you should see is from the scanout waiting for a full frame to display before moving onto the next one (sub-millisecond at 240+ Hz). This should be easily measurable with LDAT. When using G-sync frametime compensation it is important to cap in-game 2-3 fps below max hz to avoid falling back to buffered v-sync behavior though (assuming game has proper fps cap). Additionally using an external (non-engine side) fps limiter can introduce frames of delay, for rtss it is usually around 1
Great video man , your channel is awesome, I know you say don’t buy what I tell you , but what monitor would you recommend for competitive fps as of today for clarity , hz, , ghosting etc ? I got the lg oled monitor recently returned it same day looked so bad and so dark couldn’t Believe it

Is the XG27AQM being G-Sync compatible still good to use? I thought blurbusters proved to use G-Sync on with V-Sync on in Nvidia control panel, V-Sync off in game settings, cap fps -3 below monitor’s max refresh rate. In this video you turned G-Sync on but turned V-sync off in Nvidia control panel?
Thanks for the response. I've seen a lot of people capping fps ~3 frames below their monitor refresh rate while using g-sync. Why do they do this? Is it useful in any way or is it better not to cap fps?

Yo bro, interesting video. I hope to have the privilege to try out a Gsync premium monitor with a RTX 3k / 4k card in the future. For the time being I'm currently on a 1080TI and a zowie 2546k. I just wanted to let you know that if you tried your Zowie monitor with AMA on premium, the picture gets more clear yes, but this feature has a huge impact on input latency. I play my monitor with AMA on High and theres no feel of input lag with this setting. I can confirm that most CS proes uses 50/50 DYAC+ ON / OFF. I use it on Premium sometimes but mostly I have it OFF due to slight headaches over longer periods of use. The DyAc+ should not affect input lag but the AMA setting does. Your video is mainly talking about the clarity of the picture etc. I'm sure your Zowie cant come close to your Asus 360HZ, but in terms of input lag I would be stocked if you bother to test the Zowie with AMA on High instead and reply here what you noticed personally. Also most CS pros I've talked to say they use Zowie because of the input lag is so low not because of picture clarity since you don't rly need it in CS, all you need is speed. Also most tournaments use Zowie monitors so they are used to the picture and built in settings like black EQ etc. As mentioned on prosettings.net almost all the pros use AMA set to HIGH (DyAc is a 50/50)
To clarify - AMA stands for Advanced Motion Accelerator and it's the thing that gives more voltage to your monitor so it's faster in terms of latency. I think you are misinformed. The highest overdrive setting (AMA Premium) is not going to slow down your monitor, it's going to reduce the latency to the maximum possible, however it will cause a lot of overshoot (inverse ghosting) and your picture clarity will become trash. AMA High does the same thing, however it's causing less overshoot (still a big amount compared to what other monitors have) so your picture clarity will become trash. Meaning when you track an enemy or just move your mouse around your eyes will perceive the image like some sort of microstuttering/lag sort of like when you had a little too much alcohol and you are tipsy. I hope you understand the point I'm trying to make. Now DYAC+ is their motion blur technology (a moving target now becomes clearer to see instead of blurred) which is pointless in my opinion for anything that doesn't require you to recognise the object moving across your screen. DYAC+ is inserting a black frame (your screen becomes black completely) between every frame your monitor outputs, but you are unable to perceive it (you can see it with a phone though). So now I ask you, what is the point using a monitor with a really low delay if it's going to cause so much overshoot/inverse ghosting. RTINGS the most popular review website has shown 2546k can have 0 overshoot if you turn AMA off, but that would mean your monitor latency is higher than the majority of "competitive monitors". I recently switched over to Samsung G7 Odyssey 1440P 32 inch. Even though it's not specifically made for FPS shooters. It has a better delay than my previous BenQ 2546K, it has a better image clarity with less overshoot, it has better colours since it's a VA panel, it has a better contrast (so if I have the color saturation high colors are not going to blend in together), it has 32' which is almost 80% larger diagonally than the BenQ 2546K, it's curbed which is a niche thing they have, it's 240HZ and it costs around the same price (a little bit more now since BenQ 2546K price is down lately). BenQ 2546K is all about marketing. PROs are "using it" on paper. That website proves nothing. They have contracts just like other millions of influencers and are meant to promote certain products. I bet you've seen some streams with people covering the brand of their headphones with tape. There are so many good monitors out there. Zowie is not the best.
+Shroomlight Pro players are ignorant, they mostly just copy eachother.. very few actually know what they're doing. .. and no, no monitor in existence can currently match the motion clarity of BenQ Zowie XL2566K 360Hz, not even 240Hz OLED. Except, ViewSonic XG2431.
