Mine was fully charged, when I received it friday, I took it out for about 45 minutes all I could stand too cold. Found a ring 2 long rifle shell and a fork in trashy park. I'm not disappointed at all. Soon as it gets above freezing, Im gonna swing it some more.
Great unboxing video! I think for the price the early adopters paid, they should get a coupon for the choice of a 5x8 (viper) or a 6x11 (ripper) coil (both coming soon). Garrett may listen to all the features people are wanting (like 99 tones, tracking ground balance, etc), and give an option to upgrade to a VX10!
In my opinion, the angle of the plug for the coil cable should be angled downwards - like the Equinox. And in the way it is now - it looks like a weak point and could lead to damage to the cable. What do you think?
@southernrelicadventures It would be great to hear his answer! It seems like this was intended for the old S-shaped bar, like the ones in the Apex or AT Max.
I’m waiting to see how well the Vortex will do at a saltwater beach. I hunt the bay beaches here along the Texas coast where the water is calm enough to hunt up to chest deep water. If anyone that receives one of these machines can test it out down here in the Corpus Christi, Texas bay beaches, that would be great. Put it to the test. _/ 👍🏻

It could be for sure ! That’s a great observation and something we can ask when Steve Moore from Garrett comes on with us next Friday

Curious on the new machine
We will take it out and put it through its paces it does have some really interesting features on it
Awesome
Ha you got mine before me. Mine is coming tomorrow!
When you get charge it ! No charge at all 😢
@southernrelicadventures good to know!
I am interested to see how it performs on your 1700’s site with all that iron…
A absolute horrendous market launch. Over hyped and under delivered. They can only improve after such an utter failure…but then again, time will tell.
Why they didn’t make these for use with ability to use regular batteries is beyond me .
congratulations and in 2026 when I go to Charleston do you want to go metal detect with me.
We need History Digger with us and Nikolina Bohr too they would enjoy it !
Vx9 should be 400$ ...Its way overpriced for value.
