    This video cleared up my cable routing confusion about doing this same job a couple days from now, I just had to remember every time Joseph said “washer” he actually meant “nut”.

    To anyone watching this video: Never pinch a loop on a cable. It greatly reduces the strength. The only reason it was ok here is because that cable doesn't really support weight. If in doubt, go buy an eye bolt for $.50 and don't risk your safety.
    Great video sir! Very informative

    This was a great explanation of the process. Sometimes your hands got in the way, but in general you had a much more clear explanation than 4 other videos I found. Thank you very much! I'm still not sure how much tension should be in the spring to keep the door from drifting down, especially when it's hot. I think the heat lengths the spring and reduces its tension, allowing the door to drop. I may have to get new springs instead of trying to adjust the tension.

      The door weight will determine what spring you should use.

    You want the safety wires goes through both loops at the ends of spring in case spring break loops will not fly away as well spring, I see safety wire went through one side of spring loop only.

    I like how you use your hands to block the view of what you're doing. Pretty smart.

    My garage door is 9ft wide. How do I tell what length cable I need?

    • @josephk9182
      @josephk9182  2 года назад

      The cable length is depend on the way your garage door opener is installed.

    I have one broken spring on my garage door and it is in the down position. How can I manually get it opened so I can get my car out?

    • @gangstaBJK

      There is a red handle hanging from the middle of the door. After you pull it down you can operate the door manually

      Mark and if you don't have an electric garage door opener,you can just lift the door up by hand,but you will be lifting the entire weight of the garage door. Wooden ones are very heavy be careful.

    A 7ft door spring will not work on an 8ft door, don't make that mistake. Home Depot only stocks springs for 7 ft doors. But they can order

    Ok English teacher i corrected it just for you because it's your responsibility to point out. I know exactly what it means and no thanks for pointing out. This is what's wrong with this world because of people like you. Nosey. Stay in your lane a and tend to your own affairs.

      "Inept" means not knowing or lack knowledge, are you sure you want to use that word in your sentence?
