    I have a 2019 370Z sport pkg 6MT which has the following engine modifications: a Stillen Gen 3 long tube CAI, a Fast Intentions 2.5" true dual x-pipe cat back exhaust and an Ecutek tune done on a Dynojet chassis dyno by Specialty Z in Simi Valley, CA. The tune was done with 94 octane gas and we got a uniform increase in torque across the whole rev range of about 15%. We got a peak rear wheel horsepower figure of 321 at 7200 rpm, for a calculated crankshaft value of about 390.
    I was concerned before about the metal intake pipes picking up heat from the engine bay and might go with wrapping them with some thermal reflective and insulating tape.
    I did put some forged magnesium wheels on the car from Litespeed Racing in LA, CA. They've shaved off an additional 9 lbs from each corner, as compared to the OEM forged aluminum wheels. The handling performance, braking and acceleration have been noticeably improved from the reduction of unsprung rotational mass.

      that's because most Z owners don't have or don't spend money on quality parts. Z's are relatively very cheap cars now and most people end up just cutting mufflers off with no resonators added. His is not the best sounding but it is far from the worst because he spent some money on a quality resonated short tail. However, I think you need to hear the sound of a Motordyne catback without the cat delete or even the AAM Resonated Short tail and midpipe.

    I love everything you have done to that Nismo! It really dressed it up perfectly. I am usually a "totally stock" type of person with my own 370Z but what you have done to your Nismo looks like it could have been stock on a "special edition Nismo" if Nissan who have ever offered something like that. Really sharp. I like your touches a lot. Nissan should take notice of your car and upgrade the Nismo Z with similar touches.

    I'm currently re-exploring the joys and pains of an old PS2 game *Gran Turismo 4*. It is, indeed, a deep Rabbit hole to explore. B spec training is a bit of a nightmare.
    What has this got to do with your upload? Quite a bit.
    You've already been "pulled" for failing to mention Tyres.
    No grip = No control 😁😁😁
    The rest of the showcase is making sense as well. If your ride height is too low and the shocks/dampers are too stiff - that again affects handling.
    I remember that you thought about Turbocharging but the extra stress to the Gearbox & Engine etc might cause a lot of failures..... something that Im sure you already know.
    I've seen Audi 200 upgrades and the stock Transmission is not up for a massive jump in Power/Torque.
    Anyway; great vid Ant 🐜

    Just bought a 2010 6 Mt sport package. I love it. I thought it would be slightly quicker on the low end but it handles and has plenty of top end power. Puts a smile on my face every day

    • @sportzntouring
      @sportzntouring  5 месяцев назад

      CONGRATS! You'll be surprised at how much a throttle remap will change that feeling on the low end. A big part of that sensation is the amount you have to press the gas to get a response. See 16:37 in the video. The standard map only opens the throttle by 22% at 50% of the pedal. That can create an illusion that the car is lazy off the line.

    • @videomaniac108
      @videomaniac108 4 месяца назад

      Put a good intake, exhaust and tune and you can gain close to 60 peak crankshaft horsepower. The stock ECU map runs the engine very lean at low to mid revs and slightly lean at high revs, for emissions and gas mileage. These mods will also significantly boost low and midrange torque, for about a 15% uniform increase in torque across the whole rev range.

    Great vid! I had a 350z back in the day and bought a Black Edition 370z last year. I knew I was going to add an exhaust, coil overs and do a remap. I didn't like the look of the front Nismo look either so I went with a non Nismo version, which was about £10k cheaper and added a some minor body styling.
    I am saving for a Z1 supercharger now 😂

    • @sportzntouring

      Nice! Yeah, I started with an '05 350Z, then an '09 370Z, then the 2015+ V2 Nismo which I much prefer the look of. There's actually a lot under the skin that's different on the Nismo too. The seats alone are about 8k a pair new. Then there's the extra chassis bracing and dampening and many other tweaks. It's actually great value for what you get. But, each to their own of course.

    Suggestion: I would eliminate the spacers since it wears on your suspension. The engineers at Nissan did a really god job on the entire geometry of the car. The Hotchkis sway bars installed would stiffen up the car and you can adjust the stiffness to your likeness since they are thicker in girth over stock and come powder coated. Spirited driving around corners would be as flat as a pancake. Your suspension wear using spacers could be eliminated.

    • @sportzntouring

    Beautiful car. Saw yours on Jay Em motors. Thinking of buying a 370Z Nismo myself. What oil change intervals do you do? What are the weak points (heard the slave cylinder is one) but anything I should be looking out for?

    • @sportzntouring
      @sportzntouring  4 месяца назад +1

      @@craig357 cool. It's changed a fair bit since then. Regarding your questions, oil change is about 9000 miles or annually. I rarely do those miles in a year so I have that done annually.
      Weak points... Ive not experienced any specific typical issues, except the clicking that comes from the wheel hubs. That's a straight forward extra servicing task but isn't needed often. Clutch slave cylinders are known to be a weak point as they're plastic but I've not experienced that issue personally (35k miles now). Other than that, it will depend on the history of the car, which will be a bit of a gamble like any car. Otherwise, nothing specific to any known weaknesses surfaced so far.

    In terms of handling, if you're willing to sacrifice that lift feature of KW V3, you could get a lot better coilovers (ThunderLane, MCA or Z1 R-Pro) and FUCA and then proper wheel alignment. That plus wider wheels with square setup for 265 or 285 tyre will change the handling dramatically.

    • @sportzntouring
      @sportzntouring  4 месяца назад

      You can if you want to. But, there's more to the handling than just suspension. There's additional damped chassis bracing and anti roll bars.. The exhaust on the Nismo is still pretty quiet and you'll need to map the car to fully exploit it. Check out the Nismo catalogue, see what you'd like... But, it would likely be cheaper to trade up to a Nismo than go to town on the parts catalogue, depending on how far you want to go.
