      Thanks Thimmaiah! This was a fun one for sure. Dewalt gave us some surprises too, wasn't expecting the 10296 to pull away at the end.

    As a 'Gal' the lighter duty 10035 was my choice. I bought a new rug for my living room and had to cut the existing felt rug pad - and it handled the job just fine; even with a blade change.

      Definitely not a bad choice, Robin! Glad to hear it handed your job nicely. Please subscribe if you haven't already!

    Hi, I'm Debbie. I am a self taught DIYER. I have taught myself basic plumbing, tiling and cement work. Thank you for this review of utility knives. I am a knife enthusiast. Kitchen knives, pocket knives, utility knives, etc. I already have several utility knives. Even though I'm a Ryobi fan, after your review I decided purchase the DWHT10286. I was not able to find in any local stores, so I ordered it online from Home Depot. The knife is is a bit bulky in my small hands, but at the same time feels very sturdy. I like the smooth operation of the blade slide. The blade storage area is very easy to access, and the quick blade change is definitely a good feature. Thank you again for your review!

      This is awesome Debbie! Glad you like the Dewalt knife. Yes, Dewalt does have a bulkier style for all their knives, but the one you picked up is the best I've tried. Thanks for watching and subscribe if you haven't already!

    I'm a huge dewalt fan fully invested in dewalt. EXCEPT for the knives I prefer the Milwaukee fast back ( knife and utility blades)

      What's your top Dewalt knife Robert?

    • @robertmills4980
      @robertmills4980 3 года назад +1

      Don't have any tried a couple. Then I switched to the Milwaukee fastback 1 utility and 1 pocket knife with the screwdriver attached never went back to dewa again for the knives anyways

    • @TheTruckGuy
      @TheTruckGuy  3 года назад +2

      Gotcha. Yeah, Milwaukee fastback is hard to compete with, I love their line. Dewalt is good for some bulkier knives if you're into that, but if I'm going bulky, I prefer Stanley. So Dewalt is usually last on my list.

      @@TheTruckGuy I even had a dewalt "flipper" with the tanto tip which I love but there was no speed in the flip

    I bought a DeWalt retractable utility knife 10295 yesterday mainly because of the brand, the grips and the lifetime warranty. I didn't notice you have to open the knife to remove the blade and insert it. I can't do it. It is jammed completely and I am concerned I will slice a finger off trying to work with the blade. I am returning the knife today. After looking for blade installation on RUclips today (because there are no instructions with knife) I discovered this is a major flaw with this knife. So, now I am looking for the best box cutting utility knife. Thank you for your video.

    the first position was unexpected i was sure that it would be the DWHT10046, for the folding fixed blade knife go with milwaukee fastback, nice review, for somenthig compact and in line with the fixed one the DWHT10296 looks good, i'm more of a fan of the fixed body, super cool as always

    • @TheTruckGuy
      @TheTruckGuy  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Virtual Virtual! I thought the 10046 would be the top too, but the slider isn't the best on that knife (but it's great all around, and cheap). The 10296 is really damn nice. Dewalt really stepped up on that knife. Definitely give it a try if you're considering picking up a new knife and let me know what you think.

    5:55 Must be user error. I've have the same knife and it has never given me a problem or been hard to open.

    I had the folding retractable one the only downside was over time I lost a screw and the halves were starting to separate and I had no way to tighten the remaining screws because I didn’t have the correct size driver to tighten

    Off all the 3 brands dewalt stanley and millwaukee which one is the best

    • @TheTruckGuy
      @TheTruckGuy  3 года назад

      If you like folding, then Milwaukee. If you like fixed, then Stanley. Dewalt is a step below those 2.

      Yes Stanley used to have good folding knives but I'm a roofer and I use a stanley double blade roofing knife it's very good. But Milwaukee has amazing folding knives

    Use a penny to unscrew the screw on utility knives 👌takes less than 30 seconds to change a blade.

    Can you say "guys" more?

  • @kennedymcgovern5413
    @kennedymcgovern5413 Год назад

    Meh. This is like looking for the prettiest girl at a feminist rally.
    I am a DeWalt guy. But DeWalt just doesn't do accessory tools well. As a rule of thumb, if it needs a battery or a power cord, I buy the DeWalt every time, without exception. But when there is no electricity involved, I buy the Milwaukee.
    Don't get me wrong. Milwaukee makes great power tools too. My DeWalt loyalty is just a preference there. But for knives, screwdrivers and such...this guy has another video about the Milwaukee Fastbacks. Watch that one.

    Don’t do it. Their “quick relate system” is terrible. Google it. Don’t even consider one of their knives.
