Such a strong system Steve. My new ICF home build will have it, thanks to the awareness of the system's efficiency by you and Matt. Great content!

Hey Steve. I know this question isn’t completely related to this video topic, however I would love to see you do a video about how subgrade insulation ties in with above grade insulation. You may have already done this but I haven’t seen it. Thanks your the best.

Waterproofing ICF is one of the reasons why I'm on the fence about using it for my foundation. I've seen other videos on this subject, but it's always confusing to me. The only problem I have with this is, the lack of transparency on the cost. Anytime you have to "contact a sales rep" just to find out the cost, means it's really expensive. This video is helpful. Thank you for this.

Hey Steve, great video. I'm planning an ICF build, and I'm curious what you think. Im consider forming up my footers and dropping Stego inside the form before rebar and concrete. That way i can wrap it up over the outside of the footer and base of the icf. Overlap my ICF exterior water protection. Then tie the stego in with the moisture barrier on the ground in my conditioned crawlspace. It seems like it would improve air sealing and reduce the risk of moisture introduction into the ICF walls via the footer. Can you see any reasons why that would not be effective?

I consider waterproofing the most important part of icf. What about leaving some of the masonry exposed to air to dry out. Masonry loves to wick moisture. When I do block walls we leave 18 inches above grade exposed or use breathable coating for masonry to dry out. Same with poured walls. Or the concrete can become water logged.

what is the vapor perm rating on that spray applied waterproofing?

what do you put on the icf about grade?

Many people apply a cemetitious parge coat above grade. More specifically, extend the waterproofing membrane about a foot above grade and extend the parge coat about a foot below grade. So they would overlap by 2 feet. Nudura sells a special ICF compatible parge mixture. Fiberglass mesh is embedded in in parge coat.

so tremproof 250gc is listed as having 0.03 US Perm-Inch, tremproof 260 is listed as having 97 ng/Pa/s.m which is around 2 perms and tuf-n-dri classic data sheet says around 1 perm. in my experience, 250gc roller applied does not stick to fox blocks eps but 260 does. how important are the perms in this application? ive always wished i could use 250gc to get the lower perms. but maybe that isnt necessary?

I don't think it is that important, be sure the water has a good path to "down and out"

Woof. More wobblycam footage at the start. Steve -- can you please use a better camera for that kind of stuff? You clearly have them, which is shown when you have your camera operator taking video of you on the location, so you can use that same equipment instead of your wobblycam.
