- Following its global debut last year, the BMW 6 Series GT facelift has arrived at our shores and we drive it like all BMWs demand to be driven, with plenty of enthusiasm! For 2021, BMW has updated the styling and festooned it with more equipment to keep things fresh. It continues to be offered in three variants - 620d, 630d and the petrol 630i that we had on test. And this time around we’re back to answering your questions. Is it a capable rival to the new Mercedes Benz E Class ? How does it compare to the 5 Series ? Does it get mild-hybrid technology? BMW 6 Series GT or the Mercedes-Benz E-Class? Which one would you pick?
Now i preffer the Bmw 6 series gt , in eclass i love w212 ❤
I'm not big fan of recent design language especially on rear end breaklight in particular.
But when it comes to interior MBenz do wonders almost benchmark of luxury.
I really love this BMW 6GT. Only thing which I found not a negative thing but I feel they u could have redesign then dashboard it's kind of ageing and those 19 inch rim is just stupendous.
6GT purely on the better build quality.

30d is the one to go for.
620nm torque in stock form is mind boggling. Get a stage 2 tune with dpf off and you'll easily be pushing 350hp and 750nm. Good enough to keep pace with most supercars.

Why does BMW offer the 6 GT with Dakota Leather when the 530d comes with Nappa Leather? Or does the 630d come with Nappa Leather? It makes a world of a difference in the overall comfort of the seats.

When is it coming to SA?
Like most reviews in India...vital dimensions are never spelt out....vague terms like “ very long...etc” instead of specifying 5.1 m length etc. Also for an SUV loving country a vital parameter in terms of the ground clearance is not even mentioned. The ride height of the GT can be increased by 20 mm...so what is the max ground clearance of the car... ? The boot space is 610 ltr which can be expanded to 1800 ltr ..these should be spelt out....also with our crazy monsoons what is the claimed water wading capacity of this limo...I believe it is 250 mm..??! Please incorporate these for all cars in future reviews....also, while comparing with the E class it’s always just the mere back seat comfort that is mentioned. While that could be a tad more spacious how about mentioning the fact that the 6 GT is far more superior not just in terms of dynamics, but also important features such as a better boot space, air suspension even in the petrol trim, a larger boot and a 4 zone AC system....,,
The E class is like the Innova/Fortuner of its segment 😂😂😂. The rest of the competition tries to emulate the throne bearer, the E class in some ways but it is a cold fact that they won’t find that many takers.
That being said, I’m proud to say that I’m a BMW fanboy 😂😂😂 and hope the 2021 6GT performs exceptionally good considering the tech-infestation and the manifestation of an ultimate driving machine👌🏼.

6GT gets more standard equipment than #EClass incl air suspension, rear seat entertainment, remote tail gate and of course a bigger boot. But still ₹5 odd lakhs more than an E 🤔
6 series facelift first before 5 series because global demand for 5 series kits are high. Bmw Germany did superb inventory management before closing of financial year by pushing low demand 6 series kits to India. This is not their commitment to lwb in India this is just Inventory management. Plus lot of pre facelift 5 series cars still lying unsold with retailers.
All potential customers please go for the 6 cylinder 630d. 630i uses same B48 engine in 3 series.
Yes definitely 630d - 620nm torque💪
As the owner of 630i GT 20 inches rim i would say 2.0 liters twin turbo is more than enough and drag is not there while in Mercedes Benze E-Class is a drag however E class is certainly comfortable with softer suspension configuration. But GT6 is already comfortable enough for dynamic driving. I live in Thailand and on the highway it drives superbly and you would regret not driving yourself.
And this is why I am still confused why they created the 3 series LWB. The GT body style is clearly more suited to the family line from top to bottom.

This is a second slower in 0-60mph than the 2.0T Accord which has the same horsepower and is only FWD.

This car without the 30D is of no use. You need that massive amount of torque to really push it.

in the rear seat review, why tf wouldn't you just place the passenger seat in a normal position (a position that it would be if someone was sitting there) and sit there to show how much space is on offer, its a bad idea to not show properly even on the driver's side by not sitting there to give a visual idea of the space
