There definitely seems to be a direct correlation between this understanding of the energy centers and the unfolding of my life. Always appreciate the wisdom you share with us. THANK YOU!!

I am very pleased to see you're still leading people in Qigong. I have been using your system for some time. I very much prefer the version of Shibashi 3 you did some time ago. I find that you and Tara Tao are my first choice as a reference for training and practice.

Thanks for this Sifu. I had not understood the influence of China’s 1960s experiences on the lower dantien focus of many Qi Gong practices. I also found your explanation of the impacts of strong unbalanced lower or middle dantien energies very insightful. We hope to see you in Australia again. Best wishes.

TCM medicine too began in the 50s with Mao's reforms. Not very old either.

Thanks for this great video! It's always damp in Hong Kong!
May I know when we tap on the shoulders, should it be directly on the skin or can there be clothing.

Depends. Skin to skin is usually better. But if it is outdoor, especially during cold and windy days, then of course you should wear some clothes.

Many thanks for this valuable information. However, I would like to report my experience with vegans. Depression is a very common concept these days. People from all walks of life suffer from anger and depression. I have observed that people who have been vegan for many years and know what they are doing and why they are doing it are happier than other people. Of course, getting the right nutrients is important. There are many athletes who are vegan and do not have any health problems despite their advanced age. Of course, "ahimsa" is included in the circuit here. I think it is an important factor.

Thank you for the clarification! I do wonder why you say the middle dan tien has cooler Qi because the heart resides there which is fire. Isn’t it the goal to sink this fire into the lower dan tien which is more water related from the kidneys to achieve the alchemical cooking process?

You are right that the heart represents fire and kidney as water. However, when you sink this 'fire' qi to meet the kidney 'water', though it does has some health benefits, however no alchemy process will happen.
Why they use the term alchemy? Because transformation is needed, you need to transform both dan tians to a certain stages first before you can bring in down for the alchemy process to happen.
Why the Daoist use the Li Trigram to represent middle dan tian, and Kan for lower dan tian? Li on the surface is fire, but inside its core (center), it is a broken line, Yin yao, Li itself is also a female (True Yin). Similarly Kan on surface is water, but inside its core (center), is a solid line, Yang yao, Kan itself is also a male (True Yang).
Anyway, these are just theories. The most important thing is first hand experience. When you have the first hand experience, you will definitely know which energy is cooler.

@@TaiChiQigongShibashi Thank you for your clarification! Indeed, there are many energy levels and it is not always clear about which one someone is talking. A lot of confusion has arisen, I think, from using TCM level of processes and meridians as if they are identical to Neigong channels and functions. I learned the idea of reversing Fire (Li) and Water (Kan) first from the I Ching! But indeed, in the lower Dan Tien we have the Ming Men which is a hidden fire, like the middle yao in the gua Kan. In my understanding, this hidden fire is activated by letting the Yi sink to the lower Dan Tien. If you say the benefits are limited, I wonder why because isn't this simply the initial stage where all benefits are limited yet that's how you start the whole process? If the Yi cannot sink to the lower Dan Tien, nothing can be activated. When you say the Qi of the upper dan tien is "cooler", isn't this a result of already having achieved refinement of your Qi? From a daoist teacher I learned that the Jing is refined when the lower Dan Tien overflows with Qi, which is channeled upwards through the three passages in the spine. The "cooling" effect is then the refined Qi that descends as clear water over the heart which has a calming effect on the emotions and fertilizes the lower Dan Tien as shown in the Neijing Tu. Without meditation, most people will have impure fire Qi in the middle dan tien and a cold lower dan tien which lacks vitality. In our computer age, the focus of the Yi has become so disembodied that it is already a great achievement to be able to discipline oneself to direct the Yi back into the body!
