- “Hell have no fury like a woman scorned,” were the first words defense attorney Heidi Perlet said in her opening statement for ex-NFL player Travis Rudolph. The former wide receiver is on trial for killing a man and shooting another after he got in an argument with his girlfriend. The fact that he was charged is insane to me. People bring up the fact that he kept shooting as they drove away but he wouldn’t have any way of knowing if they’ll shoot back at him or not. When you’re outnumbered like that you keep shooting until the threat has completely fled or is incapacitated

I witnessed a gas station robbery where the clerk gave up the cash and the robber ran towards the door looked back and killed the clerk for nothing. I think the reason they’re even able to bring this to court is because it wasn’t at his house or in his house. When he stepped onto public property, it became a matter of self defense on public property. That opens a whole new plethora of necessary evidence. Like, proving he was still in danger, proving he was, indeed, defending himself, etc. if it moved away from the home, it shows an attempt to “flee” the residence without having caused harm first.
I still believe it should be an open and shut case. Just a matter of the law and criteria that must be met to meet the requirements for it to fall within the law.

All 39 casings came from Travis’ gun and the neighbor even testified that every time he saw, there was just fighting no weapons. Travis let his ego get in the way and wanted to prove a point. His life wasn’t in danger when he walked down the street with his ASSAULT RIFLE. They were leaving. Everyone even said there were a few shots that went off, a pause, THEN all of the constant bullets started coming. In that pause he had time to stop and think about what he was doing. A few shots is enough to calm down the madness and scare them off. But shooting over 30 rounds into a FLEEING car is absolutely absurd.

To clear it up as it seems many of you didn’t fully watch or understand what the lawyer said. The 4 men WERE NOT driving away. 1 of them was in the passenger seat pointing a gun behind the non tinted windshield. Another behind the passenger seat with the door open with his gun drawn and pointed as well towards Travis and Dj. So NO THEY WERENT FLEEING & Shot as they fled. He was fully in self defense.

If I saw or heard it correctly, one of them wasn’t even in the car. The driver realized that someone was missing from the car. I think it was the second one that was shot.
And it literally does not matter what the car was doing when guns can be pointed and fired at you regardless of if the car is moving or what direction it’s going. Its incomprehensible to this DA that someone can point a gun out a car and aim the opposite direction than the vehicle might be moving. If anything, they had a lethal advantage being able to hide behind the metal armor of their car with their guns hanging out

The judge tossed out stand your ground claims. This trial looks like a situiation where we might regard Travis' actions as self defence but that might not match what the law says.

Did this judge ever overuled any objections from prosecution in this case during the entirety of this case? Cannot remember one! That's how the state was biased in this case and the jury saw right through them and their sinister motives! Kudos to the defence. Not fazed by it all, never once lost their cool or showed any frustration, just plodded one step at a time and got justice for their client!
