I've seen a few of these "Super BB" launches and I really think they are missing the point of the orginal BB. It was overweight and under powered so the display was a slow acceleration and tragetory profile; sort of like a real rocket does. If you jam a big motor in it or one of these oversized models it just launches like a "gun shot." I'm all for performance (ie speed and altitude) but that's not the point of the Big Bertha design.

    Excellent video and music choice!

I LOVED BUILDING THESE ESTES KITS WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND WITH MY CHILDREN!!!!! I STILL HAVE SEVERAL OLD MODELS AND THE LAUNCH PAD WITH CONTROLS!!!!! NO MOTORS. IT MIGHT BE FUN TO TAKE THEM OUT AGAIN!!!!!

Fantastic...I built one back in 1976. It was the best rocket Estes ever offered. I bet it flew 50 times. I just loved it. Yours is much better looking. Great job. Great video. Thanks for the memories.

  • @TheChitownpete

Good flight! I have one in my build pile that comes out as soon as I lose another rocket or two.

I had the big Bertha when I was 10, 50 years ago. It was my favorite

When I was a teenager back in the early 70s, I built a Big Bertha, and it might not have been the sexiest rocket that Estes made, but it was the best and most reliable one I ever launched.

Mine always landed in the trees like every time

  • @jeffreyb8770

Back in the 60s you needed a CAR BATTERY to ignite the engine. Plus, my mother was lukewarm on the hobby from the get-go.

Why the hell does everyone want to make a $%#@ music video?
