Wow! Watching in Aug. 2024. I’m glad you found the rocket, (what a mystery), and I hope it flies again!

I remember getting this rocket when I was a kid and love it. The Big Daddy and Shadow were my favorites. I just ordered a Big daddy for me and a starter kit for my 11 year old and I am kind of bummed they changed the color scheme and graphics lol.

That Bigger Daddy takeoff was insane! Obviously, the kinetic speed at the time of deployment was too much.

Nice production, well done. I'm happy for you that you got the rest of your rocket back. I noticed that you did a great job on the fin fillets.

I don't know much about rocketry but I am curious about the chute deployment. I see it was set to deploy at 800'. Does that mean it was still headed to earth at VERY HIGH SPEED when the chute deployed, and snapped the chord? That would put the bottom half VERY near the nose cone you retrieved. Was the strap holding the 2 halves together a Kevlar chord or something else?

most separation happen because of rotted out old shock cords. replace them every couple years.

Nice video just getting into rockets myself here I launch weed rockets when I was younger say like age six to ten years old then once at summer camp when I was sixteen it’s been like seven years since I launched a rocket and I just launched four rockets last weekend
Bought a pack of Estes C6-7 to replace my B6-4 so should have more power on my next launch
I don’t think my rockets will be as powerful as your second big daddy rocket bc that is on a whole mother level 😂 but eventually if I stick with it I might join a club and get into that sorta stuff I know there are at least two that I’ve found in Connecticut not sure if they are still active I’ll have to find out
