    Thanks for explaining the process! Not many RUclips-ers give this much detail. It really helped to understand what was happening on video as well as what goes into making these flights look easy to us novices. Kudos! 👍🙌

    Oh my, Skippy.
    THAT, is one amazing sound and a sound achievement. I felt the same rush with my big dog, a 4" DX-3 w/ 0.7 sec burn and 13 sec coast to 1200'. BIG deal to me, but 25.5k' of coast is incredible.
    I would enjoy some one-on-one discussion time with my rocketry club about this project if we could arrange it.

    That launch was FAST! When I think of historic rockets of this size and larger I think of things like Nike-AJAX, Honest John, various sounding rockets. I've never seen one launch but I assume they launch that fast too, maybe faster. Regarding fins I've seen a few rockets in museums that used similar brackets to bolt to the fins and then bolt to the airframe. Overall a well planned awesome build and excellent flight.

    Hey, question, I hope you get this! I’m using the entacore aim 3.0 and I was curious if you’re running a Yagi on the aimbase or just just using the rubber antennas. I’m no where near the altitude that you are achieving I’m just don’t want to lose the rocket if it drifts more then a couple of miles out of line of sight. Thanks Chris

  • @khaliffoster3777
    @khaliffoster3777 4 года назад

    Why did it burn out at 500ft, which reduces the speed? Because you design so it burns out and not constant at a higher level at the same speed as it goes from start to end, well, in your desire height as an end, then slow down. So, you design for 500ft, then slowly went further and goes down because the air pressure or you make it go down at certain feet?

    • @Businessonly752
      @Businessonly752 2 года назад

      He was designing for acceleration, not height

    • @khaliffoster3777
      @khaliffoster3777 2 года назад

      @@Businessonly752 So, the brake didn't work?? And so what reduces the speed? The accelerating base on an example of 50 mph, per one mile each, so 2 miles later, is 100 mph, 3 miles later is 150, and so on.

    • @topsecret1837
      @topsecret1837 5 лет назад

      Faster than that considering that drag was all that was there to slow it down to that average. So at least 7000 mph at max speed before dropping fast. 71Gs = 71(9.8m/s/s) which means it was accelerating at over 600 m/s, per second. At 10-11 seconds throttle was cut. The numbers coming from this are ridiculous but still atmospheric drag had a big effect on slowing it down.
