How does the idea that the body of Christ we read in the OT is the same as the one in the incarnation square with the 2nd commandment of not making images of God since he has not revealed his form to us? The incarnational argument used against iconoclast seems to be undermined by this. Since there does not seem to be anything stopping an OT figure from making an Icon of Christ before the incarnation. Am I missing something? Thank you and may God bless you ☦️
“Brother” can also mean nephew (Abraham called Lot, his nephew, brother), brother-in-law, close friend, cousin, a blood relative, stepbrother, a person of the same nationality, and so many other things in the Old Testament.
Is "God became man" really a true statement though? Literally, just the meaning of the statement itself, not the attached truths and concepts of Christ/incarnation/etc (important distinction for my question, sooo many arguments, disagreements, strife, sin, and church divisions and alleged doctorinal disputes stem from this error. miscommunications.....Satan doesn't have to work all that hard to start a world war) Like if Man was made in the image of God, then technically Christ always has a physical body, plus light, plus whatever else is included in His full glory and nature(which we can't fathom until we see Him)....right? Otherwise "God cannot change" is not a true statement God is eternal, which does not mean God existed in the "past " for millions, billions, endless"years" .... Time is a created dimension, part of creation. Its scientific not hypothetical. Time s physical properties, and is affected by the other forces, physics, the speed of light, mass, etc. So God is outside of or"above" time, above just meaning higher dimension/level/plane of existence. Though simultaneously God, via His attribute of Omnipresence, He is also fully present in the dimension of time as well. ....which is what Christ was saying by "I am alpha and omega, beginning and end" So Christ always was a "man" it more accurate to say, Christ is always who He is, we are created to look like Him, He did not become to look like us? Fun fact: even atheist physicists have figured that when you try to go as small as possible with, physical matter and particles, it has a limit and endpoint, cut something in half , getting smaller parts, after so many times, doesn't work anymore, and reach the "singularity". It looses a property called "locality" meaning a specific XYZ coordinate within the 3d universe. And becomes "everywhere" at once..... alpha, dimension 1 , atheists scientist are having an existential crisis. Let us all pray that they not resist but finally repent
