Shannon is one of the FEW sports analyst that can talk that big game because he had a stellar career. He wasn't mediocre. He wasn't just good, he's a pure hall of famer who has literally earned the right to talk whatever he wishes without nobody saying what he DIDN'T do. Rings, hall of fame, team captain, everything!
Man, it's gotta be sweet being a 6th or 7th rounder, beating out 1st rounders for a starting position and coming back the following season as "the man"! Go Sharp!
HTTR! Never forget watching CP first game, first carry as a Redskin against the Buccs. Took that joint 64 yards to the house baby! Good memories at my gma spot. 🕊🙏🏾
He would have ran for 15000 yards in tens yrs easy if he stayed in denver. Met clinton in miami at the barbershop. He was so cool even paid for my cut to skip the line. He spoke to like he was a common dude. It just seems like an older brother talking to talented younger brother. He know what he capable of but he just good where he at. He was great at blitz pick up
No doubt about that if he would have stayed in Denver he would be in the hall of fame. He was putting up some numbers before they shipped him to the Washington Football team.

I got to be there as a student when Gainesville high retired his #4 and I got the be there when he was inducted into the hall of fame at Miami. My English teacher Eddy Moore was also the football coach at Gainesville High and always spoke highly of Clinton Portis so did the drivers ed teacher Peggy Meadows (who would fly out to see NFL games). I seen his high school highlight tape, he was a baby Sean T on defense.
Clinton Portis always showed the human side of being the celebrity pro athlete. If you ever had the privilege to be in his company, he always had a smile and time to say hello. I met him at the elevator at GW hospital in 2007. He asked me why I was there? I told him to pick up my father from chemo therapy. Clinton Portis rode the elevator with me to say hello to my dad and all the staff on the floor. Everyone was so excited. My dad got special care because they thought he was personal friends with a Washington Redskins icon. Clinton Portis brought a lot of joy and hope to my family and friends.
