There has been some people commenting that they have trouble changing their broken Polaris 360 hoses. From experience I know it can be challenging, but if you know the trick it becomes rather easy. I can now change hoses fairly quick with no trouble.
It is the reverse threading that gets people and sometimes they can be on the nut and backwash valve very tight. The video will show you some various examples which I hope you will find helpful.
Cutting or cleaning the start notch is also helpful. Just this week I had to install a new hose and I cut a starting notch along the hose and it threaded in instantly.

My hose had leaks so I took it to Leslie's and they charged me an arm and a leg for new hose, swivel, connectors, etc. but each connection STILL leaks !!! Is that normal for each connection to leak a little or should each connection be 100% leak free ? I even re-did some with that teflon tape but it leaks slightly.

Yes, it may have a slight drip leak no matter what.

I had a similar issue and the swivel was old and the feed hose would tangle. Replaced both with Polaris brand everything and no matter what end of either hose, the feed hose end that’s opposite of the relief valve always separates from the seal with the nut tightened as much as possible. Any suggestions?

It just sounds like it is not threading all the way in for some reason.

I just saw your video on the Hayward pool pump for vacuuming and was glad to see this video was created by the same company. Looking for tips on what adapter I need to rig the Hayward pump adapter (SPX1091Z7) to the Polaris 360 hose...

As for swivels, how freely should they turn when the robot is on? I feel medium amount of resistance, and these are aftermarket new swivels. Also, the arrow on them should point from the wall to the cleaner or from the cleaner to the wall?

Hey there! thank you for all your tips. I need to change the hose nut at the base where the pipe sits on the body. There is a lip that retains the old nut, How can I replace it? Thank you

      I believe that is a complete piece that needs to be replaced. 33 - Polaris® 360 Feed Pipe/Timer Blank Assembly - (9-100-1002

Thank you, although, how do you insert the nut. There is like a lip that keeps it from coming out.

No matter what I've tried, I cannot get the nuts to stop leaking - new nuts and new swivel - makes no difference. It seems to leak more at the one facing the fatter side of the swivel. What am I doing wrong?

I know this is an old comment, but I have this exact same problem. I purchase all new nuts and swivels, and almost all of them leak. I have tried cutting a fresh piece of tubing to align with the nuts. I have tightened them as hard as I possible can. Sometimes I've even over tightened them and the nut complete breaks apart. I've tried loosening them, and that only made leaks worse. The swivels don't leak after replacing the old ones, but more than half of the new nuts leak. I'm pretty frustrated with the whole thing trying to increase the water pressure reaching my polaris. Who knows how much pressure I'm losing simply due to these awful hose connectors.
If anyone has a magic solution, please let me know. Or maybe I should find a replacement hose that is the thinner, smooth kind versus the larger diameter ribbed kind.

Same here. Cleaned up end of hoses with razor blade to expose fresh threads, o-rings in good condition, cleaned and lubed them with magic lube, tightened, still leak.

I don’t think the joints are meant to be completely water tight. As long as the machine moves around the pool normally, I wouldn’t sweat a little bit of leakage.

Do you have a video on how to keep the polaris 360 from getting tangled up all the time?

    • @SPL
      @SPL  2 года назад

It might have too much water pressure going to it.

Notching the hose to insure a good fit. Great idea. Thanks.

What about connecting to the pipe? Mine detached at the elbow coming out. There's a thin round washer and a plastic o-ring. The pipe has a round nut and the hose connector is small enough to fit in the nut but I can't figure out how it attaches. Don't see threads or anything. Was this piece glued on?
