Just wanted to say thanks for this video which helped me repair my Polaris 360. Changed all bearings, belts, and replaced the gears. Now it runs like new. Thanks again.
Thanks man! I never would have attempted to do this without your video. Replaced the belts and bearings today and this 20 year old 380 is working like a champ!
Great videos! you take your time and explain everything step by step. I had to take apart my Polaris and I would have been lost if I hadn't watched your video first! Thank you
Thanks a bunch for this video. My husband didn't think I could do it and wanted to take our Polaris to a pool store but with your help it's completed! Thanks again :)
Thank you! I did it. Just as I was thinking, "Maybe I shouldn't have tried this by myself," you said, "You might be thinking right now, maybe I shouldn't have tried this by myself . . ." The hardest parts were dropping the screws into the body, and getting the top back on aligned properly.
Your video was spot on and we just replaced both broken drive belts. Your video on the ipad and Polaris on the table. THANK YOU so very much for taking the time to post this! So helpful!
Thank you for this! It's really not that complex once you understand how it's put together, but you definitely saved me a lot of time trying to figure it out. The most time-consuming part for me was trying separate the unit from the bottom once I had unscrewed the four screws. It did not want to go over the main pipe at all--really tight fit.
That is good to hear. It looks more daunting then it actually is. I am in the process of editing another Polaris video - this one showing you how to change all the bearings in a Polaris 360 & 380. This you will also need to do one day ;) It is a bit more complicated then the belt since there are three internal bearings.
Thank you for this video (and the other ones). I'm always coming across your videos when trying to fix something around my pool and they're all really helpful !
You can tell the Polaris Engineer from the others over at Zodiac Pool Systems, he is the one that rubs his hands together, throws his head back, and cackles when he laughs...
Thanks great video. I have replaced belts and have this weird problem upon reassembly. If I tighten the 4 screws up to reattach the base the main gear (the widest one..called turbine?) seems to b rubbing on the jet that drives it. So much so I hear a loud click that stops the gear from moving, and of course the wheels. Any suggestions? 6 year old Polaris 380.
Thanks so much for the video, it was a big help. You're right, I have my doubts about the maniac engineer who designed this ultra compact cleaner. My 380 is slightly different and one of the screws to attach the body is partially under the wheel assembly. I had to loosen the wheel assembly, slide the screw underneath and tighten, but not before I loosened the other three screws so I could fit the pipe stem in the ultra tight area.
Thanks, this video was a great help. the only problem was that the plastic tab that holds the top chassis shell in place broke!! It was very fragile as it only took a light push to break it. I put some duct tape over the gaping hole left by the broken piece, but only time will tell whether that holds up and also if the shell stays in place without the plastic tab. I hate plastic tabs. None of them age well. Any ideas for fixing the tab? vern
Mine broke also, so I zip tied a section of a plastic cup over the opening, but I really don't think anything is needed over that opened area. It worked fine before I covered it.
When you replaced the short belt you made a point of saying that it should be placed on the inside of the central gear. Does that really matter? When I viewed your video on replacing the bearings you seem to have set the short belt on the OUTSIDE of the central gear divider. ..
Dude way too much work. All you have to do is take off the 4 screws to drop the bottom, then take off the 2 wheels. There is plenty of room to slide the belts in once you do that. No need to remove all the other stuff

Thank you! I was able to replace the belts on my Polaris 360 - saved this grandma some money!

thanks so much---our pool sweep works much better now---all your videos have been helpful!!
Thanks, helped me complete the repair.
So very helpful! Thank you for this video. I was able to replace both belts with no problems 😊

That's for sure! That engineer made sure he had job security, this is one complicated design but your videos help enormously
Many thanks! Well done - very clear and helpful.
They got me for about 30 dollars for the belts but at least I feel good about saving the cost of repair now so thanks for that!

In that case not sure if it matters - ha, ha.
A 6 year old question just saved me from taking it back apart 😆
Thank you for this video.
Your very welcome! 👍
Thanks! I am having the same exact problem.
mucho helpful. thanks for posting.
The belt is a pain to put back on my Polaris, knowing that the e-clips hold the whole wheel together. D:
Exactly what I pictured, white lab coat, messed up hair, glassed on the end of the nose...Looks like the guy in "Back to the Future"...
I just sent you my e-mail address for some photos of the problem you describe here.

Show us a video on how to do that. I’m with you, my head is spinning watching with video.
