    As a traffic controller, I absolutely love Mindy's radio work, its short and right to the point. There is no hello how ya doing, whats going on and all that other chatter. You saw how the controller didn't have time to engage in a conversation on if its going to be an RNAV or a visual. Its very busy being a controller. Excellent video, nice jet.

    • @MrRadarrat
      @MrRadarrat Год назад +5

      As an additional comment, that last controller should have told you what to expect, but like stated above she must have been busy. Having retired as a controller we get in ruts, sometimes we forget things especially when the last 10 arrivals flew the XYZ approach

    • @whiffy506
      @whiffy506 Год назад +2

      This is the one thing I don't agree with my CFI, he always insists in calling in and greeting to establish communication before anything else.
      I've noticed now the controllers just ignore me saying 'hi' and go straight to the point. It's the one thing I won't do when flying by myself, they're busy enough.

    • @peterfrenzel1826
      @peterfrenzel1826 Год назад +4

      @@whiffy506 you bet, controllers are juggling multiple aircraft at the same time, you might not hear them but they are often on another line getting clearances for you at the same time that they are directing traffic or talking to other controllers on the status of other aircraft etc,. I have often not to responded to Hello, how are you or whats going on or how are you doing etc, not trying to be mean but just dont have the time. Mindy's radio work is a controllers dream come true lol. Just tell us what you want and we will try our best to accommodate and get you on your way.

    • @BryanSnider
      @BryanSnider Год назад +2

      My PPL was done with a CFI who was also a local ATC. I completely agree. He taught me like you said. Get the point. I remember he use to count the number of words is used and ask me if I could say the thing in shorter words.
      My most annoying thing I hear on radio is pilots saying “with you.” Not duh they are with you lol

    • @THATFlightSimDude
      @THATFlightSimDude Год назад +3

      I am a big big fan and subscriber of Mindy but I have one critique to a few of her radio calls I heard here. I hope I don't get flamed for it, I am not trying to armchair or call anyone out lol. But... "up to 320, 2RF" or on another radio call "220, 2RF", these numbers can mean 3 different things. I always like to say or hear the words "altitude/ft/flightlevel, heading, or speed" preceding these numbers. As a private pilot, I like to know exactly what other aircraft are doing and know that they copied the right info, instead of just relying on hope that everyone is on the same page. "Flight Level 320, 2RF" or "heading 220, 2RF" is more appropriate while still staying short and sweet. Love you Mindy! I hope you see this as a friendly critique and recommendation. Absolutely not trying to correct a pilot with tons more experience than me. Mad love to Max and Mindy. You both are easily in my top 5 favorite youtubers. Keep up the great work!
