    This exact VC Simple-Date you reviewed here is the ONLY high-end watch I would buy.
    I prefer it WAY more than PP and AP.

    Great job, thanks!

      Matti Von enden Rolex in piyasasi cok farkli.

    they made a mistake bringing the ultra thin case to the white gold variant only. a 40m VC overseas ultra thin in stainless steel would have been a direct competition with the 15202, 5711, 5167 and easily taken market share from the other Trinity watchmakers. at 41mm and 11mm thick, this is more of a Rolex style sports watch, and I don't think Rolex and VC have the same customer base.

  • @TheBarts27
    @TheBarts27 4 года назад +2

    One of my grail watches. This watch is not perfect although the bracelet comes really close. I think that VC should make some changes to the date window. The black and blue version have a white date disc and that shoudl be black or the same blue as the dial imho. The Overseas Chrono is great because size 42.5 is a great size for my 8"+ wrist, but the date window is a mess on the Chrono. VC should stick with the big date like on the Overseas 2 version. The ultra thin 40mm gold version should also be made in steel. That would be a true winner! Finally; this VS overseas with a big date double date or day date or annual date would also be very interesting imho. Thanks for the review.

    • @closer71

      If the date disc matched the dial color like AP does on several of their models, this VC would be flat out perfect.

    has anyone noticed an issue with the 4500 overseas when you change the time, i noticed if i pull out the crown to change the time sometimes it doesnt engage the hands and the crown just spins without changing the time at all

    • @mazefra4365
      @mazefra4365 3 года назад +1

      Yes, I guess, this is normal. Same with my Overseas, if I pull out the crown too smooth and gentle. I double-checked it with two other new Overseas at a local jeweler/watch-shop (with VC boutique): Same behavior!
      The watchmaker gave me the tip, slightly (!) turn the crown back and than forward. But just a little bit - like briefly „tension“ the crown before setting the time forward.
      Works pretty well each time, for many moths. No more spins ever since. 👍

    It’s the one of the three that hasn’t dated and doesn’t look like something that went out of style in the 1980s but people still buy because they’re icons. The Oversees is the one that’s timeless.

    • @toobalkain

      the previous Overseas does look dated, this one might be timeless but I'm not sure about the markers.

    • @closer71
      @closer71 3 года назад

      @@toobalkain Ha! Ha! Ha! This dial - and particularly on the 18K rose gold version - is the very definition of “timeless” if we’re talking about good taste and understated sophisticated style. It’s not even a contest. But the AP Royal Oak bracelet IS TIMELESS AS WELL. Don’t fool yourself. AP has earned their reputation the hard way. People DON’T “just buy them because they’re icons.” Of course, that’s a factor, but people buy a watch for a host of reasons and iconographic status is probably way down the list in most people’s minds. The VC Overseas Ref. 4500V is absolutely the best value on the market today in the haute horological space. They’ve raised the bar with the 41mm case and three bracelets. PP and AP had better wake up. And I don’t care what ANYONE says: the Caliber 5100 movement with 60 hours power reserve from VC is far and away a superior movement to the old, aging Royal Oak caliber they use in the 15300ST/15400ST and although the 15500 uses a much improved movement, the indices on the dial are TOO LONG. That dial looks unbalanced because the case is so freaking massive across the wrist due to the extended flares where the bracelet begins. The Overseas has a grace to it’s 41mm that draws you in to the dial and bezel, while the bracelet shimmers in the light in much the same manner as the Royal Oak bracelet; the Overseas bracelet isn’t as heavy but it’s just as substantial, albeit smoother, with less dramatic lines. As always, VC clings to the archaic because they KNOW their customers and their customers have very refined tastes.

    • @toobalkain
      @toobalkain 3 года назад +1

      @@closer71 I love VC and I agree with most of what you're saying, but I was talking about the previous time date model, 2nd gen three hander, the one with numbers and asymmetric date window, for my taste that designed just isn't as timeless as, say, Royal Oak's or Nautilus'.

      A service runs $1,500 to $2,200 but these VC movements go 5 to 7 years between servicing. In my experience, the VC is much more robust than either PP or AP. But a PP is usually much stronger than an AP caliber - AP movements tend to need service A LOT. And each event is $2,500+
