HuaLongMeiGou is an Asian idiom that means 'to do something great, but then everything fails and nothing gets done'.

I'm pretty sure the idiom is huà lóng kè hú. Not sure what HuaLongLeiGou means, especially with those accent marks. Maybe it's the Korean Pronounciation or they got it mixed up with 画虎不成反类狗.
Houalongleigou is a four-character idiom that means that it tried to draw a dragon but was in the form of a dog, and this four-character idiom is compared to the fact that it tried to do a big thing but failed and failed to achieve even a small thing.

I'm Chinese, but the idiom I know is “画虎类狗”, "Huà Hǔ Lèi Gǒu", It means that someone wanted to paint(speak as Huà画) a tiger(speak as Hǔ虎) but finally just painted it as(speak as Lèi类) a dog(Gǒu狗), this idiom is used to express regrets to those who had great ambitions but finally end up with failure.
Then I'm so confused why the mod used "龙dragon(spaek as Lóng)" instead of "虎tiger(speak as hǔ)", even though tigers and dogs are more similar in appearance.
So I just went to look up what allusions this idiom comes from, finally got the answer. The word used in its most original form is actually "龙 dragon Lóng". This idiom was originally a phrase, "若是，所谓画龙不成反为狗者". This is a scholar of China's Han Dynasty lamenting for a former prince, meaning "In this way, he is like a person who originally wanted to paint a dragon but ended up painting a dog.
The first emperor of China called Ying Zheng, who took the lead in unifying China. And the former prince that this idiom "Huà Lóng Lèi Gǒu" first used to describe was Fu Chai, who lost to Ying Zheng in the competition to unify China, so that he failed to become the first emperor to unify China.The dragon(Lóng) is the supreme existence in Chinese culture, a symbol of the strong. Therefore, this idiom used dragon and dog to express regret for failing to achieve the great goal.
By the way, 《后汉书·儒林传上·孔僖》(《The Book of the Later Han Dynasty·The Legend of Scholars·Kong Xi》) is the earliest allusion of this idiom. It has a history of more than 1500 years. The text of the idiom has changed over the long period of time. It may be precisely because the appearance of tiger is more similar to dog. Therefore, the use of tiger(Hǔ) instead of dragon(Lóng) has become more and more. After all, tigers are also powerful animals. It can be used to contrast with the dog to express regret for failing to achieve a great goal.
In fact, I am very curious if the creator of this mod is Chinese? Because "Huà Lóng Lèi Gǒu" is the pinyin of Mandarin, it is basically only used by people who learned Mandarin, and the idiom used is still in the form of origin rather than the daily form. Or like the friends above said, this is actually the Korean usage. Many idioms of Chinese have also been used by neighboring countries, and perhaps Korean or Japanese Kanji have retained more original usages. But "Huà Lóng Lèi Gǒu" is actually the pingyin of Mandarin, It is a tool for linking Chinese to English letters, and it was only used after 1955, so at least in this mod this idiom is not a Korean allusion or a Japanese kanji, because the pronunciation is completely different. So I wondered if the creator of this mod is actually a Chinese, and maybe he/she was a literature major or a history major in university, or maybe it's actually because the dragon matches Xiao's character image better.

need the newest version of the game and for the mods to work, at least one file from the invitations must be in the workshop folder, everything else can be thrown into the basemod folder as usual
I didn't use basemod, just downloaded from workshop and it works without any issues
It’s a workshop mod that replaces the xiao fight if you press tab
You can download a workshop version of basemod, and just enabling it and the mod on startup seems to work.
