Something I can recommend from working in a computer shop. If you have a station where you change the computers a lot, put all the usual cables together in some ribbed pipe kind of cover and leave just like 20cm of the cable ends free. (we used to zip tie the ribbed pipe closed). Keeps all the cables together and from tangling and it's really quick to connect/disconnect them all. Also keeps the place looking tidy.
Looks great and very practical, my only comment would be to add a diffuser strip over your Led lights as the reflections off your desk shows as obvious "points of light" and a diffuser would help give more ambient light.
For signal cables, you can get extension cables and mount them under the desk permanently. That allows you to cable manage everything under the desk and quickly hook up a PC, mouse/keyboard, Ethernet, external screen capture card, to a test system without having to climb under the desk or have messy cables.
Thankyou for explaining the desk/chair setup and also pointing out the issues with your previous setup. It was good to get some background around what you were overcoming by using this particular setup. Not everyone will agree, but setup makes sense for how you are using the space.
Would love to know what chairs you guys use! They have to be ergo at least somewhat lol. I've seen some of the newer ergo gaming chairs that are a lot more understated and considered them but a simple black or grey office chair that isn't terrible would be good lol
ergo and gaming chairs don't even belong in the same sentence lol. Most of the time, "gaming chairs" are the absolute worst chairs ever only sold to the gullible.
It's really a matter of personal preference and body dimensions. I went to a store and tested a ton before I found one that had support in the right places and didn't look like something for a 13 year old tryhard...
it's awesome to see you guys seeing the fruits of your labor and being able to expand and optimize your work. I can't think of a more genuine and humble pair of guys in the industry. love the content as always, and happy to hear things have worked out with the studio.
1:really liked the way u show us why u need ur chair to rotate 2: really like the way u jumped on the desk to prove ppl that it can take 10 PC-s full build (around 90 kilos XD) at the end of the table. 3:u need more gamers nexus mod mats XD and a colab or a steve vs steve competition now build tim one of those
Wow it's inspirational, literally, I'm building a new house and I want to take some of these ideas for both my garage and my home office room, I don't know if I'm brave enough to get into welding and building to this scale, but it's marvellous, oh and the sound is definitely sorted!
I’m watching you guys since around few thousand subscribers and I’m really happy that you have come this far. I really love the hard work you put in, much deserved :)
KVM over IP would allow you to fully remote control test systems (incl. BIOS, power cycling etc.); you could even keep running benchmarks while you're on the move.
I would have used an 8 CM hole saw to make several half holes (best done before the lengthwise cut of the shelf board) on the wall side of the lower shelf above the desk.. This would allow easy and clean routing of cables and plugs. I sure would like to know where to get that chair.
Glad I stuck it out to end, as I got to hear Steve lay down one of my favorite pieces of Aussie / British slang: ruclips.net/video/ExXu0QwTUhQ/видео.html I'm super chuffed with everything you guys do!
Amazing job building this lovely space to work! You guys deserve this and much more, for being reliable, honest and hard-working as you guys are. Hardware Unboxed is an indispensable piace of the tech community.
Some great tips in doing a proper custom desk... Please can you provide the networking equipment specs? That 10Gbps switch? Very practical...and it works for you...great work Steve!!
Hi Steve, I’m not surprised this turned out so well especially considering you built that huge & amazing shed in your back garden. If other people had seen it they wouldn’t have questioned the load bearing of your new pc desk. Can I ask what is the make of your pc chair please? I bet the happiest people about this new studio are your wife & daughters as they get two rooms back lol.
@@stevenmatthews5712 hi there would you recommend this chair and would you know where the best place to buy them ? As I’m considering a Herman Miller Aeron but like the look of this chair!
Very interesting setup! I am just curious why did you end up with this configuration where you have 3 monitors on a seperate table and dont have just ultrawide or three monitors next to each other and use software like Synergy to connect them as a huge desktop. Did you find the ergonomics still worse or you just haven't found the situation with extra software great - introducing more variables? Also what abou KVM switches?
I'm looking for a new chair and the one you're using looks pretty good to me. Can you tell me what chair it is? Would you recommend it for long (8+) days?
14:48 ... I am doing that right now... and watching at 2x speed. Gahh NBN... we were so close to getting good internet for everyone... But someone wanted to go cheaper... and it ballooned past the good internet cost by a large margin. Wooo hoo Hate the retention clips even in my personal rig it is removed.
Nice setup! Is that a soundbar underneath the monitor on your main workstation? Which is it? I've been trying to find a small soundbar that'd fit in a space as small as that.
Im impressed with your metal work and woodwork.. and here i was thinking that you are just an RMIT drop out that started your own youtube channel.. lol

@Mark D ,
@@seanaquilina2818 it's the Ergohuman Plus Elite V2
Are there plans for the desk build online anywhere? Just wondering about the dimensions.
Oh man this came out so GOOD!
U didn’t even watch half of the video I assume
Lovely video on a great looking space! Really well done! 😀
Your new home/office looking great aswell :)

Loved the first video, and I must say I loved this one too. Really interesting. You did a great job.

I use Barrier KVM for 3 laptops and 1 PC. So far so good, no problems here with the open source project.

I feel like that file server is on the ground just to mess with Paul! Wonderful workspace!
I would love to have electrical desk, so I could work in stand sometimes. I'm sure you would love it too. :)
I can see the work stress melting away thanks to this new setup.
Wish I had the money to do something even half as similar for myself..
Welcome to Ergonomics Unboxed. Great video Steve. Love that desk. One day I will build a mini version of it.
You need defusers for the rgb under desk lighting. Really really really need them. It's annoying to look at them.
Or just mount them to the underside of the top shelf so you can't see them, just the glow shows

"Tim & I"... thankyou Steve for the proper respectful language. So much better than 'Me & Tim'. 😀
Wow I love your new studio setup. If you guys ever need a pair of extra hands on testing you can consider hiring me, I'd gladly move to Australia!
These videos are awesome! I love the information on building
The new studio looks awesome!
Awesome setup man! Oddly similar to how I envisioned finishing part of my basement. One day maybe 😂
I'm grinding out levels in Diablo 2 rn... while watching this video n my side monitor :) looking forward to a vid on that :)
Well fine, brilliant. Hammer on box indeed
love the new place many blessings!
An absolute masterpiece. Congrats!
Yeah. Looks great.
I am sure Steve from GN appreciates you walking all over the mat he just sent haha
Great studio btw, looks sick!
Congrats! Nice setup.
get some diffusion on those rgb lights under the desk
homies got the 100k button and were pushing 1M!!!!
Better build a HOTAS in for DCS WORLD
This feels like me showing my friends my Minecraft base
I was actually looking at that chair if it is the chair I am thinking off, How is it so far ?
Tim definitely sees the MSI model numbers in green letters falling from the top of the screen
What is the chair you're using? That looks like it'd have great lumbar + neck support!
Were this back in my native Dagenham, 30 seconds after this video went up someone would already have broken in a stripped the place 😂
Seeing you guys have a similar color theme going on as GN. It feels more like GN is slowly taking over.
Nice new work bench/studio. What is the name and model of the office chair that you have in the new desk area?
Haven't seen a Case review in quite a while. Even forgot you used to do them. Are we going to get some of that content back?
Got a little unboxing boxes there as well. Nice.

Welcome to Hardware Ondesk!
Hooray for Corsair.
Some of you watch RUclips while you game.
-Me, currently watching this video as I game.
"Why yes, that is something that I do."
Steve, what kind of chair is that and can you provide a link that may help support the channel? Thanks!
Where is the space for the OLED?
How did you dealt with bug proofing your studio from potential bugs infestation like termites?
Very pog desk area. Very early too
Did you whack some solar on the roof Steve to help power the new studio?
Looks great!
"Apparently a lot of you watch videos while you're gaming." Yep, playing Diablo II: Resurrected while I watch your video.
Looks amazing
Oh my God he have legs !
Great work ;)
expecting to see some desk benchmarks later this week
I like it.

How do you feel the chair you use is good for backpain
Very lovely, awesome job :)
So exciting.
If it was a purpose built space why have the garage doors at all and not just another wall???

Ok... I have to ask. The laser level you used at 17:50... Can you share the make and model?

The raytraced light strip reflections on your desk put Nvidia to shame.

We've always enjoyed using Corsair products.

Should call the command center hardware unboxed hub and abbreviate it H.U.B.
What camera do you use?

I didn't waste my time and money on a uni degree. I started my own business in high school and I've never looked back.

Does it have a garage door at one end?
