Oatman AZ is named for Olive Oatman. Her family was killed by Native Americans in the 1800s and she and her sister lived in captivity for years before finally achieving freedom. Interesting story. We loved Meteor Crater. Fantastic!
Wow brings back memory's....(the Crater was free when i visited there back in the 70's ) Could you dodge the meteor ? Well think about this if it was going 26,000 miles per hour and the speed of sound is 767 MPH that would mean it was traveling 33.89 times the speed of sound, it would be here before you knew it. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing! Be safe.
Oatman is so cool. If you drive up 66 from Kingman it’s a drive you will never forget. My sister moved to Kingman about 20 years ago from Maryland. What a trip that was, she moved with 3 cats, 4 large dogs and 4 horses. Was truly a cross country adventure.
If you are wild for donkeys, you will enjoy St John, in the US Virgin Islands. They are much wilder than in Oatman, but easily seen and some are quite friendly. But not all … You cannot get there by van, but many US airlines fly to St Thomas, then you ferry to St John. STJ IS 75% national park.
I am screaming right now... You were literally following us from Oatman East. I wish we would have known. Could have met up. That would have been so cool.
Meteor Crater is incredible. Been there years ago. My friend and I wound up on there website pictures gallery with a crowd of other people. Students in my class spotted us. I didn't even know we were in it. They got a kick out of that!
Burros or donkeys are the little animals you saw in Oatman. When a donkey mates w a horse the offspring is a animal bigger than both parents called a mule. !
🇨🇦 I had a duck a few years back, her name was Jonathan Livingston because she liked to explore. She loved to be held and would rest her head on my shoulder.
I have been to Oatman before and it's a memory I'll never forget ..the donkeys were the best . ❤❤❤ Happy someone finally featured this cute little town..
The friendly people and donkeys make Oatman the best. And the dinkie has a cross on it back. How cool. You have not lived tell you have visited Oatman. ❤❤
I agree with you Natalie, the donkeys are awesome! Your camping site and photography were beautiful. Love the meteorite location… Now there’s going to be two meteorite impacts🤣. You are in so much trouble Jimmy😆 Happy Thanksgiving 🍂🍁🦃🍁🍂
Petrified Forest? I just left there day before yesterday. Did The Grand Canyon and heading to Zion. I stayed at Walmart in Gallup and the employees there were the only friendly people I encountered in Gallup. Went to a laundromat and would speak to people and they would literally look at me straight in the face, me smiling, and wouldn’t say a word! Sometimes they wouldn’t even look at me when I spoke. Hope you guys have better luck. BTW love, live the donkeys!
I am SO GLAD you guys made it to Oatman!! This brought back some memories from visiting when I was a kid!! The meteor crater looked so awesome!! Great video as always!! 😃
Loved Natalie’s excitement to see the donkeys (I would have been the same way!). You guys are so cute together and your videos are fun as well as informative.
The problem with old US66 is its original 2448mi which led from Chicago to the Santa Monica Pier has mostly been chopped up & re aligned & paved freeways over. The biggest intact section left is only 135mi across Arizona. HOWEVER, There is another road which IS still intact. US50 goes 3019mi from Sacramento, Ca to Ocean City, Md !
I enjoy seeing your version of places other tubers have been like Oatman because every time it’s different. Been to the crater, big nothing… $$. The moon landing enactment is too hoaky in my opinion. I live in Santa Fe, NM. And love the land of enchantment.
I was very disappointed at meteor crater. While passing through with the family we decided to stop and check it out. It was an hour before they closed and still wanted to charge us full price. They said the tickets are good for 24 hours and to come back the next day. So sadly since we were just passing by we didn't see it. Great video as always.
What a fun town! I think the sandals and socks are definitely fashion faux pas but who cares?! 😂 And we're glad you shared some of your Crater experience. We weren't willing to pay the admission!
We did Oatman Az. and Route 66 a few years ago. It was a amazing trip. Not on Rt. 66, but the wildlife loop in Custer SP. in South Dakota has a lot of wildlife. Besides Buffalo it also has wild burros. The burros walk right up to your car and even stick their head in your window.
That boundary cone is a remnant of a volcano. There is a caldera of a super volcano called the Silver Creek Caldera close by. It's about 16 to 18 million years old. Glad you went in the fall/winter... Summer gets into the 120°+ for days st a time.
HI JIMMY & NATALIE 👋 THE TOWN & THE BORROWS WERE PRETTY COOL 😎 HOPEFULLY AFTER A WHILE THEY LEARN THEY HAD TO MUCH TO EAT . THE METETIORS MADE A MIGHTY BIG IMPRESSION ON MOTHEREARTH ! In the old days, when I was young, the meter site was just a big hole in the ground that you could just walk up to. There was not tourist attraction per say other than a hole.

Glad you had a nice experience in Oatman it’s a hoot. I’m assuming you took the Arizona Sidewinder out of Oatman 190+ curves in 10 miles. The Whole area is part of the inspiration for the movie Cars. The Evening pictures of the Stars Breathtaking! Yes the crater is bigger than a bread box,a very amazing stop! Happy Travels All The Best! Be Well Be Safe & Stay Blessed.
The Canyon was used by NASA back in the day to test their moon buggy and some other planetary probes. Oooh I've been to the petrified forest, after going to the grand Canyon.

SANDLES AND SOCKS. YAY! So many of my friends oppose such a fashion statement.

New Mexican here!! Welcome, can’t wait to see what you find here this time around. Been watching you guys since you were here last time.

We were just there November 13. Sorry we missed you.
I've been there. Feed the Donkeys Carrots. I was lucky enough to see the shoot out. It's very cool. Enjoy you too..
If you visit Prescott hang out at the Palace on Whiskey row. Real western movie set. Plus the historical territorial courthouse.
