G'day from Australia! Georgia, I have been following you for some years now. I love your exploration of various eating places, as food that is one of the things I do enjoy about Singapore. Your videos on the idiosyncrasies of the local language and culture are also fascinating, and I really enjoy watching you grow as a person. Sorry if I posted this already as I realized my comment I wrote earlier were not showing up in the comments section.
I would have thought the immigration department should offer PRship to you instead of waiting for you application. You are probably the only social media creator who projects a positive Singapore image to a global audience who's real, not government sponsored or sounds like propaganda like the ones you find here or China. I'm surprised IASG didn't mention this because it should give your application a huge boost above other applicants.
Finally, welcome to the East of Singapore where my family has been living since the 1960s. Its really unique from the other parts of Singapore and I know you will continue enjoying your stay here.

Having an agent will not get you ahead in the queue. Hope you had a partnership with this agency. We have been here since 2006 we applied & were rejected. Didn’t bother to reapply as we weren’t going to buy property. 🤷🏻♀️. Curious to understand why you want to have PR vs EP if you’re self employed. ❤
Pr vs EP. Ep cancel you have to leave Singapore within 30 days..Pr don't have to. Re applying for ep can also be rejected with no reason given.
Leaving and entering without restriction.
Medical also get a little cheaper.
PR have have housing loans piroity.

thanks Matt for this story of hope!
I think if you can find out why you couldn't succeed in the PR application, you may be able to work hard on your weak points and reapply again. If not, you may need to keep trying every possible way to be successful. At the end of the day, do not get yourself too stressed up over it. Just do what you do best. Good luck!
Singapore has a race based immigration system. So basically if you are in the other category (she is Caucasian) only ~1.6% of the PR visas are allocated for that. Whereas if you’re Chinese, ~75% of the visas are allocated for that race. So it’s not impossible but very unlikely that she will get PR without marrying a local.
@@carlalexander2 doesn’t really work like that. There are whole Caucasian families who move here and get PR and some even eventual citizenship…
@@eatdriveplay Yes there are multiple factors but the main objective is to keep the same racial balance that was present at independence. Roughly 76% Chinese, 15% Malay, 7.5% Indian and 1.5% other. As such immigration(PR and citizenship) is used to maintain these ratios.
@@eatdriveplay that’s exactly how it works actually
@@carlalexander2 while race is one of the factors, it aint the determinant. For instance, Ghib Ojisan got his PR because he worked with STB before. Such portfolios will boost your chances. You can be a chinese but if you dont have relevant experience or qualification, they wont give u PR just like that.
If you never try, you will never know...
All the best and really hope you can get it this time round....💪💪💪

So many reasons. Telling this as a person who stayed in SG for 11 years and his last 1 year in the UK. (Applied for SG PR for 4 times and rejected.) Like one of the commenters above said, half of our heart is left in Singapore.

But ICA never encourages or even recommends foreigners approach immigration agency to do the PR application procedure… Normally as long as your career made positive progress in the past years, at the meantime your race still has quota (avoid significant change in local racial proportions), eventually a success is absolutely $100 away 😅
Can you keep dual nationality with UK and Singapore. I mean this will be great.

High chance of rejection. They are very practical. Tbh, i won't sugarcoat it... you don't check enough boxes. I would focus on finding out the criteria and checking more of the boxes that are attainable for you off prior to applying. I hope you get at some point.
I’m a fan of Georgia but I agree with you. As a Singaporean myself, I consider her more of a global citizen than a Singapore PR. Nothing wrong or right, just an impression that there’s not enough rootedness.
Biggest box to check is being within the race quotas.
@@carlalexander2 You would think but it really isn't.
@@seanlingham5254 yes, one of the main objectives of immigration in Singapore is to keep the same racial balance that was present at independence from Malaysia. I suggest you research it further.

It all depends on your professional. Professional that the government need a lot will be very fast and easy.
I think there was a time when applying for PR and SG citizenship were just too easy and too many foreigners easily become citizens, in some cases where they are not even in any professional capacity. So Singaporeans got livid and this was one of the sensitive topics usually come up during election rallies by opposition. But it's indeed true Singapore is just a small place and in an already overcrowded country you still bring in more people, thereby lowering the quality of living, it's understandable people living here are not going to be happy. Even my tutee's Chinese mum (many years back and they are a rich family) commented that when they first came, there weren't so many mainland Chinese in Singapore and "now" (this was said at least a decade back) they are everywhere, in all sorts of work. So to her, it's like Singapore has then become a place where low minions can also become PR.

so true, the reason there are so many low minions is that no Singaporean of whatever ethnic background is interested in doing dirty and backbreaking jobs. that is why we have lots of hardworking foreign Indians, Filipinos, Myanmar, Thai, Indonesian and Chinese workers. BUT, they may not be PR, still if they work long enough and can show that they really contribute to the economy, of course, should give them PR since they do fill a segment of the economy. for Singaporeans who are not in this segment do not get to comment unless you are qualified, i.e. has works or involvement in these jobs and sectors. I qualify because I hires such people when i am unable to get any Singaporean at all. please note that for Singapore companies, those not in this sector can only hire foreigner when they have hired at least 3 locals. so it is not that foreigners are stealing local jobs.
All the best for your application, but to be honest, you really didn’t need any agent.
Countless people of varied backgrounds get their PR with a simple application form - although their success rate will appear higher with repeat applicants, since sometimes it does take a number of years being here to show that you’re kind of serious being here long term.
Basically, the Singapore immigration policy favours and gives priority to people who might potentially take up citizenship in the future… not to say you won’t get it unless you do so, but it may just take longer.

Years ago it was easier to get PR, last 5 years much more difficult. You have to have assets tied up in Singapore, either financial securities or property. They have to believe that your long term home is Singapore, and for anyone coming from the west with family so far away it is very difficult to convince them. If you have a family in Singapore and have boys it is easier, they need boys to do military service. Watch the agencies, some are very scammy. They give unrealistic chances of success.
Biggest factor is actually race.
That’s not true. Plenty of friends with no assets whatsoever, just EP holders renting a room and they get their PR. There are a number of factors - basically they assess whether one is really here to contribute for the long term, or just trying to get a card so they can bounce around here or use the privileges.
You are right on one point - really nobody needs an agent. The Singapore bureaucracy doesn’t care who filed the form for you. There are no back doors and special avenues…
Some people used Singapore as a Stepping Stone.Get a Singapore PR and later years migrate to Europe is an easy route...are easily welcome by them. Many had done that.Guess ICA has taken note on that.
@@eatdriveplay for a westerner to show they are committed to Singapore the easiest way is to invest money in sg assets. It is different if you are from the Asian region itself.
I find Singapore very expensive city to live in frankly, in terms of home buy, hot weather in most months , competition etc. Even britain with its inflation i find it still more liveable , less stressful than in singapore.

1.contribute a huge sum of money or open an investment account in singapore with over 500k
2. engage in agents to help you out
3. be a millionaire/billionaire
lolx. Dun think that is the case.
@@rayne5368 Let's hope that's not the case. wink wink
@@sumit6190p Is there any statistic supporting this? If no, then I would think this statement is just to disrupt racial harmony towards Singapore.
@@wumingkkk Okay, i take back my comment.
And also how many kids you have. The island need investment and kids.
How can anyone reject you Georgia? They should be happy to have you, seriously
If you aren’t ethnically Chinese it’s very hard. Racial quota.
I mean you needed to be an asset of Sg contributing to the Sg economy and Sg work force, for Georgia only 😁

I’m PR since 2009, since then I keep applying for my wife and 2 kids and we had 12 attempts now and just received the disapproval recently. I guess we made the most multiple attempt ever in history of Singapore😢 By the way, we’re Filipino, my wife is working here since 2010 and my 2 kids started kindergarten and now my first daughter just finished her secondary school. But we really no idea how they select whom they want to be approved. One thing I know, for those who are working in a health care has a big chance now. But for like us, I don’t know when we will have a chance. I Hope that somebody can tell us why, so we can stop trying and wasting a hundred dollars for each application.
I❤SG
After 2009 it’s harder for Filipino because before that Filipino was included under Malay race but since that has changed they are considered in the other race so fewer visas area available for Filipinos now.
@@carlalexander2 thanks
@@carlalexander2 it has nothing to do with race please don’t misleading, it just because of over flow of appreciation last few years the government has to adjust the policy.
Just keep trying, its a quota system. And since we have been trying to balance the racial composition to reflect our history , im sure u can understand how hard it is for Caucasians to get it

Never apply in the first two years. Work in the same company for at least until you renew you S-pass. The Govt love people to stay on their jobs.
Is this based on official recommendations?
@@alese7531 It’s based on my experience.
Don’t use the agencies, it would not change anything. It is a waste of your money, but you will let me know.
, we can have a chat about it. Going through few rounds and with many colleagues that went through it.
Why talents not go somewhere else? You get resident in a tiny island already overcapacity. Think sardine can and it's not sustainable!
This guy is not good in applying pr for anyone
Advice for expats!! I don't think anyone should apply for PR in Singapore because There aren't many benefits to it and they expect you to work consistently i.e. so you can't take a break or long travel without government permission. Taking a career break? They'll ask you why you have no income for a month or more. It's a prison and these Singaporean lawyers won't tell you that
Singapore has a very low birthrate. They would be foolish not to welcome educated young people applying for PR.

They don't have a shortage of people applying. From their perspective if they're going to welcome PR people then they need to A) Absolutely want to be in the country and B) Will positively contribute to their society. There isn't alot of land there so they have to be picky who they give PR to.
@@deezeed2817 In the words of Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore does not have a problem attracting people, but they want the right kind of people, which goes back to my point: young educated people.
Go SG honey or sugar than British salty sour kok!🤭 Show up front assets 🤩🤭😁more chances to long stay 😁
You do know that you need to refund all the CPF +interests if you have taken them out previously when you renounced your PR
if you watched the first 2 minutes of the video you'd know she was never a PR
She was never a PR .. previously

Thank you Georgia for this very informative details and even coming from the experts. I feel a bit of regret now that I didn’t made an effort to re-apply when my application was rejected before in Y2012 and I was just 6 months there then when I applied but lived there later on in total of 3 years. If only I’m not rooted all up here in Canada with my family I would look a job there now in a heart beat! I really left half of my heart in Singapore! 🤎 I hope you get it this time Georgia!
