Is your blender base stuck?? Here's an easy way to get it unstuck!

- Most people might already know this, but I didn't! We have an old blender which we used to use a lot. For awhile now, we haven't been able to get the base off to clean it (undoubtedly because it's stuck with all the milk etc from our smoothies). No matter how much you try to twist it off, it's literally worse than a jar lid.
But I came across a simple solution, and it works! Now we can actually clean the blender jug properly and start making yummy smoothies again, without having to spend hundreds of $$ on a new blender!

This worked perfectly! My base has been stuck for literally months, and I didn't want to use it because it had so much crud in it. I am so grateful! I tried and tried and thought it would never happen. It took a bit of muscle but it came off! Now, it's clean and ready to go. Appreciate you sharing this! I also learned on another video to make sure the blender is completely dry before putting the top on and storing as it can cause the mold and build up - hope this helps someone else. 🙂😉😊

Oh my gosh! thank you so much! I have been going crazy trying to unstick my blender from the bottom! I was afraid of the glass pitcher breaking in my hands. I tried hot water, I tried putting it in the freezer and then trying to open it, I tried wearing rubber gloves and forcing it open, I tried prying it with a butter knife, I tried pouring olive oil into the pitcher and then trying to turn it. Your simple solution worked perfectly!! Again, thank you so much for saving me so much time, money and stress! I was ready to buy a new blender. ❤😘

Holy moly, I wish I’d seen this before putting as much effort as I did into separating the bottom from the jar. Happily, I did find it before blistering my hand and it worked beautifully. So simple!!

After watching this video, I was impressed but immediately thought that that will not work for my blender that has been stuck for over 8 years, like really stuck. I am a female, so I had had several strong men attempted to open that blender, but they just couldn’t. I was on Amazon, eBay, Walmart, browsing around for a new one before watching this video because I had given up hope, understandably so after over 8 years. For some reason, it just came to my thoughts to check in on RUclips to see if there is any video that might have some tips as to how to remove the stuck part of the blender but at the same time, there was a hint of doubt as to whether any method would work for me after so long. Well, my thoughts were wrong. My blender opened using your technique. It really did. I mean I am still shocked. You just helped me to save my money. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thirty minutes struggling to brute force-twist the awkwardly stuck on base, another ten of google trying to get me to fill it soap and water or water and soap or some variation- and a two minute video solves it. Thank you! My ma was nearly gonna toss her brand new blender out in frustration!

I forgot to put the gasket back on before I put the cap on and could not get it off after making a smoothie. I was using a jar without a handle and even though slightly tough at first, it still worked. Thanks so much for your video!! This really helped!

Hi .my blender was fixed on my kenwood cake mixe but I still kept my blender.
My kenwood mixer is no more with me for long time. So I face problem to loosen the base connect to the blender. Pls advise.tq

I was disappointed as this was third video and was something I'd tried already. However, because of your video I tried again only harder & SUCCESS!! Thank you. I purchased a vintage breville to replace my 25 year old one with broken jug & it was stuck hard. It never happens with the Breville Classique but the Breville Moda has a large connecting piece which is already more intricate in design & it was stuck fast. THANK YOU!!

Thanks so much for this video tip. A friend of mine has been using my blender, but she has not cleaned it very well, so consequently I cannot unscrew the bottom from the jug. You are certainly correct that 'brute strength' will not help. I am going to follow your advise and put the jug back on the stand and twist left.

I’ve been using this “trick” for years, but there’s a couple of things you also need to do. The first is you need to turn the top piece in a COUNTERCLOCKWISE direction at the same time applying a slightly downward pressure. The second is, do not use a smooth surface to hold the base. No marble, granite, quartz, etc. Use wood, like a butchers block. Smooth surfaces will make your efforts turn the base as well.

Amazing! It worked! I have spent like 20 minutes trying to unscrew my blender base because there was trapped water making it stuck. I followed the instructions about putting it in the base and using the handle to turn and got it loosened in 10 seconds! Great video and thank you for the tip!

You should never have build up because you should disassemble it when you clean it every time you use it.

Thanks it worked for me! Had to "softly" clamp the base of the blender in a workbench to provide resistance as I sharply turned the top bit.

So.... let’s just look at this situation:
15,000+ people so far have come to view this video, because they can’t unscrew the base of their blender jug. And a large percentage of these people here must be trying to do this for the first time, with a new blender. SO..... why the heck don’t the blender manufacturers actually suggest this method in their ‘instructions’ booklet????? This is obviously a problem for many people!! Anyway..... thank god for RUclips! And for Derek Chai Media :-)

Tooooo funny! I live in a condo building and am just returning to my room after having 5 people plus the technician try to remove the base and nobody could do it. We all had a good laugh and I jokingly accused the young technician of having no muscles.
