He really didn’t need the DA’s help to look and sound like an idiot. His whole demeanor is off putting and I suppose that is influenced by the knowledge of the despicable, cowardly, vile acts he committed. I do feel like even if I didn’t know what he did to his wife, children, the dog and even his taking advantage of his trusting patients and employees that I’d still dislike him. I won’t call him a narcissist, as I think that’s a term/diagnosis that’s thrown around too much. No, I think more accurate descriptors of Tony are: tool, jackass, douche, fool, loser, dumbass, fraud, arrogant, lazy, foul, abhorrent, disgusting, evil, nauseating, wretched, ignorant, self-absorbed, nasty, nasal, gross, weak, coward, predator, diddler vibe giving jerk with a very punchable face.
That sums up Tony. That and he looked like a mixture of the Michelin Man, the Stay Puffed Marshmallow Man and Danny Devito’s portrayal of “The Penguin” in that white jumpsuit.
He definitely sees himself as a medical expert, when in reality he sounded like a moron on the stand. I am a RN and have been for 2 decades. I couldn’t roll my eyes hard enough at his long winded BS. He reminds me of a few physical therapists I’ve worked with through the years. Most are great and highly intelligent. Very compassionate. Some are like Tony. They are the ones every nurse AND physician can’t stand bc they constantly go in and undermine the treatment plan. They give unsolicited medical advice to patients and their families. They ignore orders bc they know best and end up causing more harm than good. They don’t read the chart, they won’t talk to the nurse who’s been caring for the patient for 12 hours…bc they see nurses as inferior and dumb. Tony is 💯 THAT dude. I am sure he’s already trying to boss around the correctional nurses and staff. I’m sure that will go great for him. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

Was he isolating his wife that much? Did Megan not have friends? Did she not use social media? Her kids being homeschooled, as well meaning and committed as it was of her (properly homeschooling three children is really difficult and involved), means that we don't get ANY information that we might have gotten about the kids' behavior or appearance or anything that might have been said to teachers or friends, or any information on what might have been happening to their mother. It's frustrating for me bc its like Megan is this huge blank space from a certain time until her death, her health and what her day to day life was like.

However, the vast majority of family annihilatiors actually do kill themselves or seriously attempt suicide right after the killings. Those cases get much less media coverage though since there's nobody left to tell the story.
Honestly, for some reason it upsets me more when someone is truly planning suicide and kills others before themselves. It just feels like such a huge waste to me. It's so incredibly senseless to kill others right before you kill yourself. If you're going to be dead, why does it matter to you that other people die with you? The biggest waste of life possible. I detest it. With family annihilators it's almost always because they see their family as their possessions/an extension of themselves and can't imagine how/why those possessions could/ would possibly live on without their owner there. The height of selfishness. Disgusting.

i couldn’t help but notice that every time anthony proclaims his innocence, he says “my wife killed *her* kids”. not “our kids”, or “my kids”, but “*her* kids”. that kind of distancing language seems to be common in a guilty party’s denial (think bill clinton, for example), and it’s really interesting to see up close. great work, dreading, thanks so much for taking the time to create this. i’m glad to have found your channel in its early days and can’t wait to see more from you!

In his letter to his father he also blames her for their financial situation, saying she was in charge of their finances and he wasn’t really aware of all the fraud that was going on. I think he secretly resented her but he was the sort of passive-aggressive personality that couldn’t directly confront her (especially if he knew he was the one at fault) so imo he drugged and stabbed her instead.

@@nineteenfortyeight6762 sorry if i worded my original comment wrong, i didn’t mean to imply that he always used that kind of phrasing! i was moreso commenting specifically in regards to him using such language to distance himself from (and subsequently, emphasizing his wife’s connection to,) the actual act of killing his own kids, rather than him using it to distance himself from his *kids* as a whole, if that makes sense. what i was trying to say about the phrasing of that sentence had more to do with the context it was used in, rather than his way of speaking in general.
