The problem with thermal paper is its lifespan. In less than a year, everything disappears or the paper turns black. Nothing remains readable. Likewise, we are dealing with low quality and resolution.
Two problems: Thermal prints will fade over time (few weeks). That' s why everyone suggest to make a real, toner or ink based copy of an invoice or receipt for warranty complaints. Second is the fact that it needs an app on the phone or tablet. No way to use it from a pc and print e.g. labels for goods from a db. So only ad-hoc printing.
honestly I loved mine, the paper is really cheap and it's most useful in school protects and novelty gifts. and it even works with receipts from stores.
Your cute prints are generally printed on thermal paper coated with either Bisphenol-A (BPA) or its chemical cousin Bisphenol-S (BPS). BPA and BPS are developers that assist in the heat-activated printing process. Exposure to BPA is a concern because of the possible health effects on the brain and prostate gland of fetuses, infants and children. It can also affect children's behavior. Additional research suggests a possible link between BPA and increased blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Watching this and immediately thinking how with a little electronics work and this thing you could make a little cheap and portable EKG for poor areas or mobile medical staff... a cheap little electronic device along with this and your phone and you can generate and share EKGs almost anywhere without expensive equipment....print for the medical file, and share on the phone for consultations with a remote cardiologists... a student or nurse could then handle these kinds of tests in remote locations, on a limited budget
Because a rough location can be obtained by looking at the Bluetooth signals around you, Android requires the location permission. It doesn't mean it is using GPS.
@@zebo-the-fat No but it seems that any app that requests bluetooth, for whatever reason, it triggers the 'location' permission. I think it is because bluetooth can be used to determine location but the system cannot know whether or not the app is going to use it for that so it lumps it with location permission just to be on the safe side.
Happy New Year, dude!!! 😊 Yeah, I've been wanting to get one of those... Specially to print labels, lists for the market and so on... But I'm afraid of the battery dying. 😕 I bought a small vacuum cleaner a month ago... It works great, but the battery is already dead! And I don't know if I replace it or modify and put a DC jack... Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Hello, I like tinkering with electronics but I don't know anything about it, so I'm learning through videos like yours. I'm wondering if you've ever dealt with the subject of wireless LEDs, and I'm looking for HS devices in which I could recover one of the components: inductors, could you tell me what types of devices contain this type of component, and have you already made a video on wireless LEDs or are you thinking of doing one soon?
is it roll of stickers (manualy rolled) compatible ? stickers has gaps between each other and not every printer settings can print with gaps) also has it an app for android price of roll of stickers is also important (per order for market parcel)
I have one and is quite useful on the go. However, I would like to use it with my laptop too and seems to be impossible. By USB, it is not recognized as a printer, it only charge and by BT, it is detected as "Medical Device" and I have no way to properly connect it. I tried in Windows 7, 10 and Linux. Any ideas about how to use it without its app?
This is an excellent video, the printer is cute and much more usable and some of the other thermal printers I have purchased. Consider me a new subscriber and I look forward to your next video. I'm going to order a few of these for the kids so they can print things off their phone without pestering me. Thank you
@ thermal printer paper can be considered toxic because it often contains chemicals like Bisphenol A (BPA) or Bisphenol S (BPS), which are considered endocrine disruptors and can be absorbed through the skin when handling receipts made from this paper; this is why frequent contact with thermal paper, like for cashiers, is a concern Google for more info and stay away from kids
So I was waiting for you to hack it. I think it would be cool if you could send stuff with an arduino and not a phone. Then it could be used for all sorts of things. A phone app is limiting. Arduino ideas to try. Lie detector, digital scope printout, Daily affirmations for your kids lunchboxes, air quality tracker (or any tracker for solar, wind, noise level etc)
This is my new favorite Gadget, belive me worth every cent.
The paper is very expensive

i've printed many things with the same printer, and after two years prints are still amazing and clear.

They usually fade in sun light, not if stored.
They usually fade stored in a pocket too.
@@YvesPIERRU I have had some in bright light for months, only a little faded, hardly noticeable, I think it depends on the paper used

Very well explained, thank you so much👍

I like the way you think! That’s a cool idea for a project.
where do we download the app?
Have this for about 3 years, still works great.
Glad to hear it's still going strong!
I ordered one half way through the video. Now I need to think up a good reason to convince myself that I really need it 🙂
Hope you enjoy it!
Why does a printer need your location??
Good point and I dont know,if someone know please comment?
Maybe it's needed in order to connect and save your wifi id?
Because a rough location can be obtained by looking at the Bluetooth signals around you, Android requires the location permission. It doesn't mean it is using GPS.
@@johnharris2349 True, but it's just a printer, it doesn't need any location info to connect to wifi or BT

I have one, It saved me a few times doing field work.
Its a life saver sometimes😉
I had one as a label printer. Same cat design. Pretty useful for organizing work.
I love that design, very cute!
If it's chemical paper it's not good, they will be canceled within a year or a year and a half. 👎
I didnt know that
I like your honesty. You didn't remove the video section where it didn't print high contrast circuit diagram.
Thanks! I believe in being transparent, even if it means showing the flaws.
The photo of your son "with the green balloon" was very clever... you are a good dad :) Cheers from So.Ca.USA 3rd house on the left
Thank you for the kind words and the shout-out from So.Ca. USA!

Yes it has rechargeable battery with usb charging,I need more time so I can test the battery
Never scan those QR codes. Last one I scanned hacked my Debit Card.
Cost per inch of regular thermal paper and cost for adhesive backed?
It is very cheap and useful, if the ink is high quality. Great test, thumbs up.

@Hacktuber Wow, I'm lucky to be able to ask this question now. I'll wait for the next video to be published.

Yes that is common problem with self adhesive roll, but for me is great gadget, now I can easy print my circuits and place them in notebook👍
Yep, I use a label roll in my printer..
I also collect old receipts and “re-print” on them..
Thermal printer?
Yes its a thermal printer with rechargable battery wifi

Take care and stay safe,

Best wishes and happy 2025
truly useful gadget
Glad you think so!
Hahaha. That's the first circuit I printed about 2 years ago with mine. The trusty 555 astable multi vibrator circuit.
That is a classic circuit! It's always fun to play around with the 555.
Feliz ano novo 👍 no AliExpress tem a máquina de etiquetas muito boa 😁
Happy new year to you and wish you all best🎉
@Hacktuber the same for you and all your family
Don't rely on these print outs for a long term - they will fade away.
We gona find out
good review. will be getting one soon.

Great gadget, but thermal prints fade over time. But it's a fun toy.
Yes, that is a downside to thermal printing, but it's still a cool gadget.
More AliExpress please!
Thx for feedback and Yes there will more content like this
How much is it
Around 16$,depends how much paper rolls you want
