    I moved to Texas from Southern CA in 2018. I lasted 4 years and moved back to CA. CA is definitely not what it used to be, but the land and the ocean and the mountains are so beautiful here. You have to pay a premium to live in CA and it's becoming more and more corrupt but don't know where else to go.

      You must live in the South End, you don't experience any of that in the North End aside from the police and weather(which I feel is an exaggeration). You get what you pay for! $1500/month will get you what you described.
      The traffic is actually better than a lot of other cities I've been to. Same with roads.
      As for the weather, you obviously never lived anywhere with diverse weather, it's actually nice here year round compared to many other places. Most of the east coast gets down into the 0's during the winter and up to 120 during the summer in some places. The coldest I've seen here during the day was 20 and the warmest was 95. Not to mention that there's hardly any heavy rains. I don't even remember the last time I heard thunder or saw lightning. The weather here is exactly what you'd expect to find in a Mediterranean climate, which is what Tacoma is classified as.
      The only thing I don't care for is the lack of rain in the summer, it will go 3-4 months straight with no rain, and then rain pretty much nonstop the next 8-9 months with a few dry days here and there.

    Ya need to research what PART of a state ur thinking about moving to---- important.travel,visit there first. Is it extremely rural! Is it full of mansions? Is it basically red or blue or lil of both? Weather,on and on----for instance, left tri state area to visit relatives-friends in CA. Central to So Ca was glorious, beautiful,open minded- up north,holy mackerel NOT. Gorgeous surroundings,people closed off from a new idea. So,No, not for us.
    Thats just me.----- cousin explored all of Oregon. Portland area and surroundings lotsa rich ole hippys, out in the woodlands,back country, 😮 whoa. Whatever you are cool with,a lil bit of all opinions excellent. Just one opinion,no. Half of NorCal has bought acres in idaho,soooo its not cheap(?) Any longer----

      Yeah compared to SoCal, Tacoma and Washington State are practically the North Pole.
      But compared to cities in the Midwest and Northeast that are significantly to the south of Tacoma/Seattle latitude wise, the SeaTac metro is surprisingly warm in the winter especially, and almost never drops below freezing, which cities hours to the south like Boston and Chicago dip way below 32° all the time!
      There's a reason Vancouver (3 hours North of Seattle) has tons of palm trees, and that's because it's way warmer in the Winter compared to the GTA area 2000 miles away, which is located significantly to the south of Vancouver.

  • @MaverickGaming
    @MaverickGaming 6 месяцев назад

    Also a few other things to note, if you're moving here from out of state, take note of where in Tacoma you're moving, we have the North End, as well as Central, East, West, and South. Each area is different when it comes to quality of neighborhoods, crime, and everything else. The North End will be the more expensive area, but also generally the safest, and it gets worse as you go south. So while you see a house for a really good price that looks beautiful on the website, it's a pretty good bet that it's in a bad area that sees a lot of crime and/or homelessness, which are often connected.
    Also, while there is a police force in Tacoma, it's mostly useless. Car thefts is a major issue, as well as unceremoniously boasting one of the highest catalytic converter theft rates in the country, though that has come down somewhat because of the CATCON ID program. Property theft is also widespread throughout Tacoma, so if you move here, make sure you lock your stuff up. Absolutely do not rely on the police to recover anything for you, you'll be lucky if they even file a police report.

    I moved from Tacoma to San Jose, CA - I would absolutely entertain moving back to Pierce or King County. I also lived in Thurston County. Shoutout to 360, 253, and 206.
