Benedict Cumberbatch did an excellent job. I like how when he's done, he just points to David like, "You take it from here Dave!" and walks away to let him have the full spotlight.
Whose show is this? Who is the magician that talks with his guitar? Then who is Benedict in that stage, particularly that stage? Who is letting who to have spotlight?
That's true, and that's probably why he walks away, because the show is not about him, it's about David Gilmour and his amazing guitar playing, which he never fails to impress me with at the end of this song.
I was there man, and let me tell you all that this video is great, but the sound quality inside the royal Albert hall was superior. I mean so so crystal clear and LOUD. I literally cried tears of joy on and off through the entire performance, I am still blown away that I actually got to see Gilmour in the flesh, play the set he did. Felt like I was watching full on Floyd with added extras of david's excellent solo material. And let me tell you all who don't know that great gig in the sky from darkside was sung at this gig, turn it up to 11 at home and multiply the hairs standing up on your neck by 10 and you may be close to how good that felt to see and listen to that! I feel I can now die happy having seen This concert live. Peace to all. Smoke on brothers and sisters
I was there for the last concert on the 30th. I was lucky enough to go to the first concert in Brighton last year and the concert in Tienen Belgium but the Albert hall was amazing, definitely the best. The sound was as you said "crystal clear" it was as if you could hear the backline without it going over the P.A.
I had heard him sing before this...mostly little snippets of things in some of his audio work...Rumpole of the Bailey, Neverwhere... and on the movie August: Osage County he sings a little song....he can sing pretty good actually. I think he was nervous. But...god...I love that man! He has made me a very happy lady with his work!
Benedict Cumberbatch is a fine actor also he is a bloody good sport for doing something like this, I am sure David Gilmour would not of bought him on stage for a serious sing song if Benedict could not fulfill the the part, this was entertainment from start to finish, To Benedict I Thank You Sir, and to David Gilmour we mere mortals will never be worthy of your gift and brilliance and a Thank You goes to you Good Sir, Live Long and Prosper.
Amazing - just awesome! I love that what this shows is, Age doesn't mean anything. Their talent and sheer excellence means they will just be incredible until the end! So moving. A fine example of timeless brilliance
apart from Benedict's nice voice, the end solo had some amazing licks.. its great to see that, sir Gilmour keeps modifying the solos even after so many years!
Nothing, nothing beats listening to this song at the tender age of 16, back in 1980, when the album 'The Wall' had just been released. All the fright, all the anger, all the despair, all the much needed comfort, it is all there - packed in this one fabulous song.
Very nice filming ! And most importantly, you "swept the crowd" at 3:28 ! That is always a must. Gotta show the crowd whether you are front row or last row. And never EVER make anyone behind you have to look your annoying bright screen. I hold it in front of my OWN face, or chest level. (see my channel). Well done friend !
Magischer Abend an einem magischen Ort. Wir haben heute noch Gänsehaut. Auch in 100 Jahren wird man die Musik von Pink Floyd und David Gilmour spielen und hören.
This would be my match made in heaven: My favourite actor of all times, performing together with my favourite band member of all times, from my favourite band of all times, at my favourite venue of all times, playing my favourite song of all times, which happens to have my favourite guitar solo of all times.
I had my hands on the stage between Guy and Gilmour. Guy handed me his plectrum after throwing 4 at me i could not catch :P An absolute amazing experience.
I'm years behind so I'm sure mentioned Floyd used some Dr. Strange comic art on an early album cover. When Dr. Strange's car clips in his solo movie, he's listening to Pink Floyd so this is a mat h up years in the making. This is the song I pick for being stranded on a desert island.
Benedict Cumberbatch❤ is the best one who participated in this song apart from original Pink Floyd he has a very good voice ,love you Sir David Gilmour ❤
I had my videos taken down. Don't do it justice though, need to see it in person, i was there on the 23rd, i don't think anything will top that gig, i've been waiting to see DG for years.
Benedict Cumberbatch did an excellent job. I like how when he's done, he just points to David like, "You take it from here Dave!" and walks away to let him have the full spotlight.
and then the bassist gives Benedict a pat on that back like "you did good buddy"

I also liked it
Benedict is an actor I'm a fan of his
OMG thank you so much for adding the ending solo!
Was looking for this comment. :D
Yes, since on David's own RUclips channel it cuts off after about 4 minutes.
ikr the other video cut it off, i had to go find another video

Are you sure?

Yup. Therein lies his genius...
Even better licks in the final CN of the tour on Sept. 30th 2016. I wish I could upload my video!
I would say this performance ranks up with the top 10 of the song, along with Pulse, Gdansk, Pompeii, Momentary Lapse of Reason tour, etc.
Right from the first string bend you know it's the great Gilmour.
As a fan for 47 years, just WOW! Amazing!! Thank you.
One of the best guitar solos ever. Thanks for sharing (I'm surprised they did not delete it yet :)
Me too
That fucking tone. It can't be denied even through some shitty phone mic. (Thanks for capturing this though)

Best footage ever!
I was there, it was an awesome gig...
I bet that was awesome to be there for! I got to see Gilmour again and soon. He was superb at the Hollywood Bowl in March and cannot get enough 😍
This performance was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had.

now he's in the company of David Bowie
Proud to be a Peasant here... But yeah, would like to sing it. With Gilmour and Waters too, as a fan of the Band.
best guitarplayer ever
MIND BLOWN
Magischer Abend an einem magischen Ort. Wir haben heute noch Gänsehaut. Auch in 100 Jahren wird man die Musik von Pink Floyd und David Gilmour spielen und hören.

I would give my left arm to see David Gilmour in real life!!! And I thought Benedict was okay. He rocks in Sherlock and I love him for that show!
simply the best...!!!
Brilliant!
Awesome clip. Little weird not seeing Phil Manzanera up there. Can't wait for his new album.
I cried
Impressive guitar work by Gilmour, as always.
I'm very against banning free speech, but.....I do so tire of the "Dave Gilmour is REALLY GOOD on guitar!!" comments...🤐
I had my hands on the stage between Guy and Gilmour. Guy handed me his plectrum after throwing 4 at me i could not catch :P An absolute amazing experience.
Fantástico Gilmour

BENEDİCT ve DAVİD. şu ortamda olmak vardı be..:(((
To quote Cymbaline from More, Pink Floyd's 3rd album, Doctor Strange is always changing Size.
Benedict Cumberbatch❤ is the best one who participated in this song apart from original Pink Floyd he has a very good voice ,love you Sir David Gilmour ❤
Benedict is gentelman!

just watch the other viveo 2,6m hits! Go Cumberbitches Go!
How did you get this posted on youtube? I have tried putting the september 29th solo (audio only) but YT muted it due to copyright.
Uuuuuuhhhhhhhh!!
THE SAME DAY WATERS PLAYED IN MEXICO THATH SONG
when you go in a karaoke bar at 3 AM
I think the solo change a little bit
Improv
When the second guitar starts dropping the power chords at 5.30!!
Nikt tak "dramatycznie" nie potrafi zagrać. W jego grze jest najwięcej muzyki i uczucia. Może Clapton ... . Jimmie był genialny. Gilmour jest.
Ameiiiii
It always seems like he cuts the solo off when he's really getting into it :)
