In my city everyone already has them because there is a faulty nuclear power plant near us but the Belgian government doesn't care so they won't turn it off even though it was planned to be turned off in 2015 (I live in Germany, directly at the Belgian border). Our local governess are trying to do everything they can and there are mass protests because the power plant had multiple failures that required shutdown for a few weeks but no one in Belgium seems to listen. (The Netherlands are impacted by this too, and are protesting aswell)

I had my Thyroid removed in 2007.So far I have had no recurrence of the disease but there is always "leftover" cells in your body. If the worst happens I would take only a small amount.My Husband is 67 with a Thyroid.We have prepared but I don't see any guidelines for what to do as far as your age and if you have had a thyroid removal (because they never remove it all) in America to make money to keep you getting RAI -which I NEVER will succumb to.If anyone has POSITIVE suggestions please reply.

Ok what if I had my thyroid killed by having the radioactive iodine treatment for an overactive thyroid...would I still take these pills if nuclear fallout was present? Hmm. I take medication now so my thyroid will produce the hormone

I bought some online and the label says each tablet contains: iodine 225 mcg, potassium 99mg. I think I got the wrong one? I think it's dietary supplement!

She got something that might be useful as a normal dietary supplement, but useless as a thyroid block in a nuclear emergency.
She should on online to ANBEX, and order iOSAT pills. They are F.D.A. cleared for use in a nuclear emergency that results in radioactive iodine exposure. Either nuclear reactor accident or nuclear warhead explosions. And she should learn proper dosage for adults and children.
mcg levels are useless. And elemental iodine is highly poisonous in the levels you need to use a a thyroid block. An adult needs 130 mg per day of potassium iodide in a nuclear emergency when radioactive iodine exposure is likely.
Learn the difference between micrograms and milligrams.
And it must be potassium IODIDE… NOT IODINE. IODIDE…WITH A “D”. Not an “N”.
