Great video Alex. There are so few videos about the listen pros and they're awesome sounding headphones. I use mine for djing and the sound clarity is phenomenol. And listening with these is so nice....
Buy the standard DT770 80 ohm if you want a good sound. The M-version is for extreme noise isolation like drums. They sound very different, believe me.
the adaptors go missing when you travel. as a dj i love a coiled cable and screw on adaptor… in fairness… something i only appreciated as ive traveled and djd a ton
Great video! My Focal HP's have way too much bass I can't mix with them at all. I do have Focal monitors that I really like a lot So just use my sony 7506 HP for tracking and mixing. Thanks
The Focal's DESTROY the DT700 Pro X. I tested them w a flat EQ via my Ibasso DX170. The Focals were far more dynamic sounding, lower bass floor, more forward with the voice and overall just a much better headphone.
@@Drumbaseuk I've finally got them fine tuned in Audirvana using TKD Nova GE parallel EQ, they sound sublime. I was just listening to MJ's Thriller album and I am picking up instruments I'd never heard before.
Thank you for this review, I just ordered the Beyerdynamic headphones! Edit: Never mind. A good reviewer would AT-LEAST show what connection type you'll need due to the cable not being able to plug into a PC!! 2nd Edit: Sorry, I take back what I said. Thank you for your review. It turns out, I didn't know that the extra adapter was screwed on to the normal adapter you'd use to plug into a computer. I really like these headphones and I have no regrets!
And how do you say they behave when playing acoustic drums? Can you actually hear your band mates/music without having to turn the volume way up because of the sound of the drums?
Dude, they come with 2 leads. Not just the old school curly cue. Also, most high end phones have a screw on adapter. And did you really have us listen to them with a mic? Wtf? Hate to be critical of you and your channel but, that’s about the worst comparison you could have done.. The Focals are incredible for singers and mixing…
Hey man, I don’t mind you being critical, it’s the ones that just put a thumbs down on videos when I'm just trying to help annoy me, as I don’t know what they didn't like so can't improve. lol. To respond to your points, the other cable is for domestic use, possibly for phones as it has a mic in it, not for mixing etc. The mic idea was to just show the massive difference in the headphones they are polar opposites, couldn’t think how else to do it. The Focal sound so good that I think it colours your judgment in mixing, but everyone is different, what ever gets the job done. Amazing headphones though. Produce Like A Pro channel has done an excellent video I should have done it like that.................. Worth watching.
@@Drumbaseuk The other lead with the mic is 100% for mixing too. It isn’t made that way for your average Joe to make phone calls. That’s not why they did it…… But I know what you mean. Also, I may have left a critical response but, I didn’t thumbs down the video. In fact, I gave it a thumbs up. I usually give a thumbs up for most videos because someone took the time to actually make a video. But I will be critical if I believe the info isn’t representative of the product being reviewed…
@@BAND-MAID-USA Ok I'll look into that I thought it had a mic on it for like phone calls or something. As I say cheers for your comments they have been taken on board and appreciate the thumbs up. Don't forget to check out that other video I mentioned its a good review.
exactly how I'd like to see all reviews. right to the point, an honest opinion, perfect.
Thanks Alex, that was great. I appreciate it!

I was surprised at how good they are. Great for listening.

Awesome video
The M has 32dB noice reduction for drumming mate.
Yeah I found out that the M, is extreme noise isolation and the other, good isolation. Thanks passing it on.

It is for phone calls BUT, Focal did it so producers or engineers could put a mix on their phone and travel with it
@@BAND-MAID-USA Oh right. Cool
Your studio is dark.
I didn't realise how dark it was going to be, when I built it. But I'm used to it.
