I love how you picked up on the immediate strangeness about Shawna. I actually had to think about it for a while on why she was touching herself in her daughter's room, while looking at her daughters pictures of her and her boyfriend. It absolutely weirded me out when I first watched that seen. But actually It's absolutely BRILLIANT how the show chose to depict her trauma. Seems odd and uncomfortable at first but once you realize what she's been through and, without giving too much spoilers, it is because of the fact that her teenage years were over before they even began. She's not pleasuring herself to pictures of her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend, but actually to the "idea" of her being the classic angsty teenage girl with the cute boyfriend in her very teenage room with her very teenage life. Its actually really sad when you think about it that way. Shawna isn't perfect, but it's clear that she is a human who is suffering from trauma and doesn't know what to do about it except to just give into her impulsive emotions rather than actually evaluating herself and her actions and realizing that she needs Professional Help. And what she's doing to "self soothe" or "cope", isn't helping her control or understand those emotions/feelings.
This show is BLOODY BRILLIANT ❤️ - no puns intended 😉

Laura Lee's plane kaboom scene was another pivotal moment for me in the show.
There’s nothing about Laura Lee here except her hitting Lottie with the Bible which I thought was hilarious. But no Cabin Daddy either. :(

I do like your regular reactions better ( this isn't bad its just that compared to your regular reactions it feels like its constantly taking away from the focus and is kinda sporadic) I don't know if anyone relates but I really wanna see watching the show.. you know? More than summarising it.. but that only speaks to how much we love your reactions in the first place, so many I'll warm up to this.
I do think that maybe you should've started this style on another video, on a show that's not as popular as yellowjackets tho, that way you could've gaged how it did.. cause I REALLY love yellow jackets and I really wanted your reactions to all of it

i agree. i also think the explanations of what happens aren't as effective this a show like yellowjackets cos most people who are watching this video probably also watched the show and know the storyline.
i feel like it’s harder to keep up with. it’s like when professors lecture with no notes or projection up
agree, specially with the choice of show. i don't think this would necessarily work better for a less popular show, but a slower one would work best with this style. yellowjackts is one of those shows where you need to feel the ambience and the relationships between the characters to actually enjoy the plot. it's too jampacked to summarise in under an hour and the appeal isn't in the plot alone, so a normal reaction would work best here. i'm not opposed at all to this style of video, i think the choice of show to try it out maybe wasn't the best. i think heartstopper, for example, would work well in this style. talking about the cute moments, analysing the characters and their interactions, while summarising the plot would work well for a show like that.

I love that Ella Purnell (Jackie) is now the lead in Fallout, a series based on a game. And it is so well-received so I am very happy for her. She deserves the recognition plus her voice acting as Jinx in Arcane ❤.
I just finished it and loved it ! She did such a great job in that role !
She's great, but her best acting was as Jinx! So emotional and moving as that character. She embodied her perfectly!
She reminds me of a young Susan Sarandon

your so real for the title. I started watching yellowjackets because of a tiktok edit and was totally blind sided by the cannibalism. I also love how easily every clacked the sapphic undertone of the show.
This is my favorite currently running series. Everything about it is brilliantly done from the direction to the cinematography to the storyline to the stellar cast led by Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, and Melanie Lynskey. Ordinarily, I do not care for flashbacks or flashforwards. But in this series, it is done to perfection. It is a jigsaw puzzle plot and the viewer has to put the puzzle together piece by piece. All the while we are wondering what the characters experienced after their tragic plane crash insofar as survival and how the surviving characters are functioning in their present day lives. A fabulous series in every respect. Thank you for reacting to it. This is my first time on your channel.

I really do like this editing style but maybe for newer shows/movies because a lot of it was recapping what happened so with newer shows/movies it can be really helpful if we haven’t seen it before we can get it from your perspective! With Yellowjackets I think a majority of the people watching have seen it so we didn’t necessarily need a recap I would’ve loved to see more of your reactions to the things that happened! I still did like seeing things from your perspective though and I am so excited you are doing this show!!! It really is like The Wilds on crack lol (also Jeff is the homophobic dad on The Wilds)

I think that honestly this format for a movie could work much better I loved this video too it was awesome but I think that for tv shows a reaction just works better(absolutely NO hate for Ashley this is just my opinion)

While this new format isnt bad, I prefer the reactions as you watch. Think what you did with heartstopper and went over each episode over two videos. The fact that we didnt get to see misty chop off the coaches leg, the wolf attack, etc... Again, this isnt bad, but its not my favourite either.

Actually, a super fun thing about Yellowjackets, are the cuts between the two timelines (1996 and 2021) because those cuts between characters or between entities, are often used as hints to further ties in the story or to explain the type of emotions or stakes involved between the two timelines.
My favourite example is in the pilot episode where we cut between Nat having taken LSD at the party and the mysterious, fan titled, Antler Queen figure. It’s very cool how they use these types of shots to mirror and create connections between the timelines, proving that it’s not just the trauma that binds them, but how much of them is still tethered to the wilderness.

Its fun to watch them start drama and kill people on accident but at the end of the day how are they coping when they're alone? Also they didn't have all the therapy options we do today back when they first got saved. It wasn't so normalized and everyone would have expected them to be able to get back to normal on heir own. Sorry, I hope you don't feel attacked, I'm just very passionate about the show :3
I’ve been a fan of your channels for YEARS, like, back to 2017, and the thing I love most is the REACTION. I really didn’t enjoyed this video as much as I usually do because of the lack of reaction. I know that watching the whole season in just one sitting is kinda hard, but you could do it like you did it for the Heartstopper videos, and divide the season in 2 videos. This format of 90% of reviewing the show and 10% of actually reacting to it didn’t do it for me 😕. Regardless, looking forward for the second season video. 💖
You should watch Society of the Snow and Alive (1993), those movies are based in the event that inspired this series, the miracle in the Andes, where an urugayan soccer team got stuck in the Andes after the plane where they were flying to Chile crashed into the mountains and they had to take the decision to eat the people who died to survive

so this is partly on me for never seeing the show, but I found this way of recapping a little hard to follow? still funny as always, and it could also be bc of the dual timelines and large cast - but i often have never seen the show and can still follow along with you.

I don't expect you to see this, but if you still want any recommendations to put in your back pocket for future reactions; I would totally recommend Hazbin Hotel. It's an animated show set in Hell that's centered around the Princess of Hell trying to redeem sinners. It also has musical numbers that could be ripped out of Broadway.

For sure enjoyed this video but also really missed a lot of you just plain reacting to the show - especially with a show like Yellowjackets! Hope you can consider doing your usual reaction for Season 2. Maybe a separate reaction and commentary video format can also work? Similar to what you did with Euphoria! That creature isn’t from Navajo legend. The Navajo are from the southwest, an entirely different area of the continent than the First Nations and Algonquin speaking peoples where that originates. The show also definitely isn’t being appropriative of the legends, especially given their baggage and racist history of being interpreted and mangled by white people.

I feel like this is a great format for recapping a full reaction series, especially for multi-season shows. For example, if you put a full series reaction out for Season One of Yellowjackets, did this format recap/reflection video that takes us through your major reactions/theories/conclusions, then started Season 2. I really appreciate all the work that goes into these summaries, and it would be something I’d definitely watch.
