To anyone who hasn't watched this show yet, I can promise you that it's worth your time. It's incredibly funny, and yet tackles issues like immigration, drug abuse, sexuality, mental health, single parenting, depression and so much more. It's one of my favourite shows.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate that odaat touches many topics and issues that exist today and can occur in the future. But sometimes it feels like I can’t get a good laugh or a warm feeling of happiness when they always touch on these issues. I’m sorry that this sounds offensive.
It's really inclusive and could spread a lot of awareness. I like it for that. I hate it as a show lol. I felt like rather than laughing I was cringing all the time. They go way too hard on trying to sell their message.

I cried for hours when Netflix cancelled it because I can relate with so many characters, specially Elena (about the coming out) and Penelope (with the ansiety and depression) Loved your reaction. The part where you ask why do are you laughing in a second and in the other you are crying SAME

Okay so when Schneider comes in he says "can u believe its only been 10 months since you've moved in" but we later find out that they actually moved in when Elena was born...which was 16 years ago

Although Schneider hadn't raised their rent the entire time, since the first time they moved in. That was a rather interesting jab at Penelope... Going off that Schneider only cared about money as though he's just "Another rich white guy" and then getting slapped in the face with that. As he considered them family even though she didn't.

This show was my gay awakening. I was watching it when I was 8 and saw Elena talking about how she liked girls. My young self was shocked. I was like “You can do that?”
so many people (latina/o's, lgbtq+, etc) depend on and love this show because they can relate. it is also just such an amazing and represented tv show, i was so devastated when they decided to discontinue it.

Nope. The last season, that was supposed to have 13 episodes, ended with 6 episodes and an animated episode, and the producers said they’re going to cancel it indefinitely, so we will never have the last episodes and or a proper ending.

i love that one day at a time is getting more love because it's so underrated. it's basically all i want in a show, somehow dealing with serious topics but also makes me laugh incredibly hard.
This video randomly appeared in my recommended videos, and even though I've watched this show twice, I still laughed at all the jokes lmao. And I just need to say that, during season 3, I remember feeling so proud of Alex for telling someone about his conversation with Schneider (the one where he found him drunk) because that boy has made some iffy decisions, but he made the right one, and just ugh, I'm glad he did. :') And the episode where Penelope stops taking her antidepressants! And Schneider compares it to him having to wear glasses (kinda like Dr. B comparing it to taking care of your heart if it got sick), and ugh I just love this show so much. I could talk about it for days omg, I wouldn't be surprised if I watched it for a third time before the year ends.
That conversation between Penelope and Schneider means so much to me! :') "There's something I want that I can't have, for the rest of my life. And there's something you don't want, that you have to have for the rest of *your* life. So I kind of get it." And Alex has grown so much I'm so proud of him! That ep, and especially that scene, was tough to watch but they handled it so well. I read that the writers even talked about that character arc with Todd, who's been sober for years himself.

This show got me through some hard times, it gave me a chance to see the family dynamic I always wanted with a culture I relate to. Then I introduced it to my sister and then my sister in law then their best friends then my boyfriend and his family and when they took it off Netflix we were heartbroken

you should do "pose" if you haven't seen it already! season 1 is on netflix and season 2 is currently airing on tv. if you're looking for a show with characters you'll easily fall in love with and that'll have you ugly cry almost every episode.. that show is it.
I wish they hadn’t cancelled it I wish at least someone else picked it up. I loved it still re watch the episodes they made and there’s an animated one on RUclips you’ll have to look it up I can’t remember the name of it to save my life all you have to do is literally type in one day at a time animated episode it should come up in bits and pieces I don’t think they added the whole episode in one take but I know they did add it in separate takes. And you look a lot like the character Elena that’s good your beautiful girl! I like all the characters . I was hoping for more episodes and Schneider and Avery after they had their kid or kids.

i just finished watching this show and i fell in love with it so hard. i have never ever watched a show that has made me openly sob and enjoy every second of it.

I have never had a show that represented my culture and people in my family so well and I can’t begin to describe how much this show meant to me and some episodes seriously triggered some buried feelings I had for my family like damn so thanks for reviewing it and someone PLEASE tell me about these changes like what I had no idea it was cancelled from Netflix! Is this Pop thing on cable?

you should do "pose" if you haven't seen it already! season 1 is on netflix and season 2 is currently airing on tv. if you're looking for a show with characters you'll easily fall in love with and that'll have you ugly cry almost every episode.. that show is it.
I wish they hadn’t cancelled it I wish at least someone else picked it up. I loved it still re watch the episodes they made and there’s an animated one on RUclips you’ll have to look it up I can’t remember the name of it to save my life all you have to do is literally type in one day at a time animated episode it should come up in bits and pieces I don’t think they added the whole episode in one take but I know they did add it in separate takes. And you look a lot like the character Elena that’s good your beautiful girl! I like all the characters . I was hoping for more episodes and Schneider and Avery after they had their kid or kids.
