The funny thing is Terminator 2 is an R-rated film and they were marketing it as kid friendly with toys but when Batman Returns came out which was only a PG-13 film which also sold toys in stores and in McDonald's Happy Meals people backlashed at it and said it was too violent and disturbing and shouldn't be marketed for children what a bunch of hypocrites
In two weeks, I'll actually be presenting a Panel at Portland's Rose City Comic Con about this very phenomenon. Though Terminator 2 was, more or less, the last hurrah of the selling of R-rated films to kids. It followed Robocop, Aliens, and the Rambo franchises.
0:39 Boy, his shapeshifting's improving, 'cause that looks _nothing_ like Robert Patrick. It looks more like Tom Arnold escaping questions about _Roseanne._
My cousin had the car and the Terminator in black. I had the ones with the blue muscle shirt and the yellow muscle shirt. Man, I miss those... I don't know what happened to them. :(
I miss the 90s when Toy Companies used to make R rated movie toylines❤. Now we have to wait for Companies like Neca, Hot Toys & etc for childhood nostalgia to get made in Action Figure form😭
Funny, I mean dispite them being for that Genisys movie I didn't care for much, I usually thought the Mega Bloks/Construx sets and figures of the Terminator franchise were pretty decent lol.
I remember wanting the Bio Flesh Terminator and I never got it. But I got the Terminator with the tank top and the front of his face and torso came off to expose the exo skeleton.
This is much, much better than an actual movie! I would watch the hell out of terminators throwing dumb quips and one-liners at each other, then explode into pieces or trow away body parts to reveal hidden weapons they are smuggled from the future. Every time Aggnold would get a flesh wound he would start whining, demanding to go to the bio-flesh regeneration chamber. And the final battle is a rock 'em sock 'em fist fight. And, of course, "THE EAHVAL TEE ONE DAUZEN" is an actual model of the terminator.
Yeah, remember when hard R films had kids toys? How did Batman Returns get in trouble for having Happy Meals, and yet a movie with countless impalings had these at every Toys R Us? What can we say? We thought the sequel would be more for kids after seeing the first one!
@@Cargo_Bayin alien we literally see a chesburster destroying the chest of a man, in predator we see two bodies completely skinned with their intestines coming out, and in terminator we see the t-1000 brutally killing a bunch of people
Hay wait a tic did the movie point this out on T1000. "It can not form complex machines, Guns and explosions have chemicals, moving parts" Well kenner disagress they say he can do that now
No Offense to any Fans of the more Modern Terminator movies, But Terminator 2 is WAY WAY WAY WAY BETTER Than Dark Fate Heck, i even kinda enjoyed Dark fate. but nothing beats the Actually Good sequel.
Actually Mr. Terminator 1 & 2 elitist, I was more of a Salvation enjoyer since I use to play the Arcade game of that movie and besides, I bet you would've been more angry with me if I were to get the Mega Bloks sets for the Terminator dispite the sets themselves being from the Genisys movie XD lol.
So funny how they made Terminator 2 toys and other products for little kids who, for the most part, weren't even allowed to see the movie. yes I get they did the same thing with Aliens, Predator, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday The 13th, Robocop, etc. - that was the thing in the 80s and 90s - make a movie that's not appropriate for kids but then market it to kids.
0:34 Yeah, remember that from the movie? I think you're confusing that with Arnold's other vehicle from _Batman & Robin,_ a film that should have been R on principle!
We weren’t snowflakes as I’m 42 and I had a Rambo toy gun and all at 4 and saw Rambo 1 on nbc at that age and 2 on hbo with my family at 5 and saw 3 in theaters when I was six. I saw Robocop in theaters when I was 5 years old with my family and had the marvel adaptation. And at 6 I had a few toys and I watched the animated show Sunday mornings. I saw T1 on abc at 5 and the uncensored version on hbo at 6 and T2 in theaters at 9 and I had a lunchbox and a backpack, shirt and some figures. I saw Alien on abc when I was 4 and Aliens on hbo with my family at 5 years old and had some Aliens figures at 10. I saw The Toxic Crusaders show at nine and enjoyed it and had some toys and all then at nine I also rented the movie and my god it was shocking even that scene where a kid gets his skull crushed by a car by criminals horrified me. But great movie despite that horrific kid murder scene
como nos mentian en los 90, la historia era cualquier cosa, nada que ver a la pelicula , no se que quisieron inventar, tal vez alguna serie animada saldria luego ?

That’s true
Robocop, Rambo and elm street got kids merchandise in the eighties as I remember
Toxic avenger had kids merchandise
Funny, didn't Police Academy do the same too?
Is it me or 90's toys are so much better than nowadays?
*Oh definitaly better than the stupid Poop Shit Slime Fortnite Surprise Dildo Box*
@Ivan Baymar bit offended because I like fortnite but funny nevertheless
Yes, 90's and early 2000's have some cool toys.
a tip : you can watch movies at Kaldrostream. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Tatum Deshawn yea, been watching on KaldroStream for since december myself :)
Because of these commercials, growing up, I always thought the character's name was 'Evil T-1000'
so did me and my dad.
0:39 Boy, his shapeshifting's improving, 'cause that looks _nothing_ like Robert Patrick. It looks more like Tom Arnold escaping questions about _Roseanne._
😂😂
It looks like a mashup of every mob movie guy you've ever seen.
I would have killed to have these city street dioramas to play with when I was a kid.
Honestly as a kid the only reason I liked the toys was cuz the environment that they had to play with them in so same
where did those city streets come from? you know they were used in actual movies ... I'd def bet on that
Gotta say, although new modern figures look more accurate, even for cheap ones, old ones had the coolest features and gimmicks!
"Awesome!" 🎉 😂 😮 😅 😊 😎
Awesome toys
My cousin had the car and the Terminator in black. I had the ones with the blue muscle shirt and the yellow muscle shirt.
Man, I miss those... I don't know what happened to them. :(
The T-1000 cannot create moving parts. *proceeds to launch missiles*
LOL! As long as they were using quotes from the movie, I'd have lost it if Arnold said "Chill out, dickwad!"

2:25 also hear a cool one were you use This to make Terminator, i remember it came back in Termiator Salvation
I remember wanting the Bio Flesh Terminator and I never got it. But I got the Terminator with the tank top and the front of his face and torso came off to expose the exo skeleton.
i love my parents for buying me some of these when i was a kid, they gave me good childhood memories.

Aliens, Rambo and Robocop had kids toys and I remember that
aliens, predator, and terminator were NOT hard R films, haha. They were relatively tame, so most parents didnt mind them watching these films.
What about Robocop and toxic avenger?
@@Cargo_Bayin alien we literally see a chesburster destroying the chest of a man, in predator we see two bodies completely skinned with their intestines coming out, and in terminator we see the t-1000 brutally killing a bunch of people
@@canopy5975 yes, tame 😭. Especially compared to your typical slashers.
"Now I'm a different Terminator."

Those were illarous commercials despite their serious tone. Lol.

In 1985 they made kids merchandise based on Rambo 2 from toys to kids lunchboxes.
nice
