This was another great video Alex. It was interesting to hear just how similar most of those Acacia models sound. This was a wonderful video for demonstrating the more non sound related reasons for buying one model as opposed to another. String spacing, string taper, nut width, neck shape, decorative options, finish sheen, grain pattern, etc. If I were to get one its would be the Islander because. I like the Islander string spacing and nut to saddle string spread ratio. It is very similar to my Romeros and also what I strive for when customizing instruments like my KTM OO. Lastly the Islander is a reasonably priced and great sounding blank slate for creative customizing(inlays, different finishes, etc.) Keep up the great work and have a wonderful holiday season.🙂
Excited to see all these tenors compared. I bought a Cordoba concert ukulele about three years ago. I love it, but really wish I had known more about ukulele's at the time as I would have gone with a tenor. One of these days. Actually, I hope to have one or more of each from soprano to baritone. I named my Cordoba Pearl. Love the Flight Mustang!
The KoAloha KTO-10 Acacia Tenor used in this video must be a pre-2020 made instrument. In early 2020, KoAloha, while still identifying its Thailand factory instruments as its “Opio” series to distinguish them from those made in Hawai’i, dropped the printing of the Opio name reference on its in-soundhole label, with the intention of attesting that the instruments “are KoAlohas” (in fact, the Thailand factory uses the fretting machine invented by Alvin “Pops” Okami, founder of KoAloha). I have a March 2020 built KTO-10 (the month of build is stamped on the neck block, visible inside the soundhole), and the label is the same “KoAloha Ukulele” label used for the Hawai’ian-built instruments (which I have since gotten as well), with the only difference being that the label notes “Made in Thailand” versus “Made in Hawaii.”
The Opio in this video has a serial number of May 2021. The change you mention to the label happened but didn't last very long. We get about 4 deliveries of Opios a year and only one batch had the changed label before the Opio one resurfaced.
Perfect timing, Alex! I'm trying to decide on an solid acacia tenor. What strings are on that Pono ATD? What strings do you think would be best for folk, James Taylor, Grateful Dead kind of music? Sorry about the cold.
The strings on the Ponos are Clear Nylon (titanium style). The best strings for that kind of music would be a hard tension clear Fluorocarbon with a wound Low G and maybe even a wound C.
I just got a 2020 koaloha kso-10 opio. I bought it used in mint condition but don’t know if I got a good deal…..I paid $400 US dollars. Did I over pay for a used uke!
The Mustang has been made with more effort to look nicer and has a lighter headstock. The differences are largely cosmetic so go with the one that suits you best.

Food for thought, so good to hear the difference of quite an array of manufacturers.
Kai KTI-5000 sounds great.
In love with that Millar
Thanks for the videos Alex!!
Poor Alex! Hope you feel better soon. I think the Kai is the nicest looking of the lot!
I'm fine Marj, my whole family seem to have had a cold forever!
@@SouthernUkuleleStore Oh no! I hope you all get over it in time for xmas.

I love deluxe Pono's. Such good value, so beautifully made and very hard to resist. This ATD is a great example.
Couldn't agree more!
I will add that the KoAloha KTO-10 is a great ukulele.
Need a second mortgage to get a KoAloha

flight phantom vs mustang thoughts?

@@SouthernUkuleleStore you mentioned in another video the phantom has a thicker than average neck. Is the mustang the same?
The Voyager, Victoria, Mustang, Fireball, Carabao and Phantom all have the same neck which is slightly thicker with a 38mm nut.
...but what about Enya EUT-K5?
Flight ukes seem overpriced comparing to the ukes Enya make.
What about the EUT-K5? I don't understand the question.
