Very interesting chat. Thank you for enlightening us Matt. I was raised in Connecticut and the only hurricane I remember is Gloria. Been here for 25 years and there hasn't been many come through here.Thank you for explaining everything.👍
That was awesome, thank you Matt!
Interesting about the birds. Hurricane Beryl uprooted half our trees & the rest were either split in two or the tops were mangled & sheared off. Was pleasantly surprised to hear so many birds singing once the rain lifted.
Thank you! This was useful!
Awesome ty!
Vey cool video!
Interesting that it’s forming with such a large eye. I always thought small eyes and rapid intensification go hand in hand
That is exactly why it has struggled to actually rapidly intensify... This has not been Rapidly intensifying BECAUSE of the giant eye. So yes small eyes = easier RI
@@JoshuaGrisewoodI guess we got lucky then. This would be a monster if it had a small eye
@@BGTech1 Yes, but no, lucked out on the wind yes... But the storm surge will be massive because of how large the storm is, it is pushing way more water. Also there is going to be a ton of flooding inland.. it hasn't made landfall yet and there is pockets of 8" + rain that has already fallen and lots more to come.
has anyone mentioned how far out the hurricane force winds extend? I've heard numerous time how far out the tropical storm force winds extend.....but not the aforementioend
Approx 50-75 miles right now
